I am an RN and work in the hospital as a palliative care nurse. So my bar is very high. Liem Hospice exceeded all of my expectations which is hard to do! Sandy in marketing was beyond helpful. Our RN, Stephanie, was smart and savvy and quick acting. Tim, our social worker, was immensely helpful to our family and spent time talking with my uncle about "the old days." We had a CNA that came weekly to take care of his bathing needs. I felt overwhelmingly supported and it took a huge weight off my shoulders. You made his passing so much easier all around. I urge you to carefully consider this before contracting with any hospice provider. Unfortunately, our experience with Faith & Hope made an already painful situation even harder. In April 2025, my mom suffered a massive stroke. She was placed under Continuous Care (CC), which meant she required critical, around-the-clock nursing support. We were told her case would be re-evaluated after three days. However, the care was stopped in less than 24 hours and we were given only 4 hours' notice that services would be discontinued. At that point, it was clear our needs no longer aligned with Faith & Hope's philosophy of care. We scrambled to hire private help on extremely short notice. That night, my mom was in significant pain & experienced agitation. She needed her medication adjusted and an increase of the dosage frequency to help manage her symptoms. The next day, we made final attempts to Faith & Hope to reassess mom's eligibility for CC, even though the on-call night nurse, when we asked, did acknowledge that we were free to seek another hospice provider. We waited all day for a response from Faith & Hope, but heard nothing. Faced with another evening without adequate care, we transferred my mom to a different hospice. They gave us the right care without hesitation. Sadly, our mom passed away only 4 days later. The only positive experience we had with Faith & Hope was with Nurse Theresa. She cared for my mom with compassion, dedication and a true commitment to patient advocacy. Theresa's thoughtfulness and support helped guide my brothers and me through an incredibly challenging time, and for that we are deeply grateful.

I switched because respite was too far and i needed respite to be closeby for my surgery. Lesson: never receive hospice if it is affiliated with PIH hospitals or any hospital.

My Mom…read morewas discharged for hospice from Henry Mayo She wasn't able to go home to her own home in Honolulu although my home is hers too, it's different if anyone can understand what I mean especially with her. She has her own routine. A very independent woman. But after a few days of visits she felt so comfortable with your staff that visited her. My family was happy and feels so lucky for having such an amazing staff. Everyone showed empathy and compassion. Special Mention to Lisa who was on top of everything every time I mention something new I observed. And Margot who was so so diligent in bringing supply that my Mom needs.
