Yes, the food can be bland. Yes, the meat can be... hard. Yes, it's expensive to have cooked food delivered to your house. (FYI, Microwaving isn't recommended, but Melissa's chicken hash benefits from it, in my opinion). But it's a lifesaver if you to get food in your face ASAP when you're hungry and on a limited consumption diet. But the statements about their customer service can also be true. At times, they are quick, responsive, helpful, and thoughtful. Other times... they are downright rude. And that's no way to talk to a customer -- whether you value them or not. It's so frustrating, and a real shame. I so liked the convenience, and it was great supporting a local company. I'll miss them while they are closed, but I'm not sure I'll be back. read more

Overall, they're gross :(...and I really wanted to like it (in spite of the negative reviews -- I thought people were nitpicking). Hospital/School Lunch food is better. You can eat a restricted diet and still have flavor. I purchased 20 days of this stuff (breakfast, lunch, dinner), and I regret it. However, I can't bring myself to throw away almost $700 worth of food, so I'm enduring until the end...which cannot come soon enough. If you still want to try, I suggest starting small. What a bummer. I was so excited to try PreMade Paleo after seeing the recommendation from the Whole 9 life peeps. My girlfriend and I started our Whole 30 on July 1st, so I ordered the almost $700 meal plan for both of us (Option 3). My first disappointment was that it didn't even ship for an entire week (with no mention of that on their website and no updates from them. It finally arrived last Friday on the 12th after we're almost half way through the program) And while I wasn't expecting gourmet meals... I was at least hoping it would be palatable, but unfortunately most of the meals are pretty disgusting. We've been choking it down telling ourselves it's only about 2 more weeks, but my girlfriend is ready to give up. In all fairness... the trail mix is awesome,and the breakfasts are decent... but the proteins and bland (all of the chicken items are really rubbery). The vegetables are straight up nasty. I hate wasting food (and money), but I've just thrown all the veggie sides away and hit up Whole Foods to get fresh vegetables. I hardly ever write negative reviews on Yelp, but I just want to let people know that this really isn't a great option for the Whole 30. I first found out about Pre-Made Paleo from my friend Delaine, who is a huge fan of the paleo lifestyle and owns and runs Gym Condition in Old Fourth Ward. I've been paleo for about 7 months now, off and on, and I have lost 30 lbs and have so much more energy and feel great. My one issue with eating Paleo (local meats, organic veggies, fruits, nuts etc) is that it can be a little time consuming. When you are constantly working with fresh meat and veggies, there's a lot of prep work involved. It's worth it, because the food is delicious, but sometimes you don't always have the time. And here is where Pre-Made Paleo shines! Premade Paleo is an Atlanta based company that ships nationwide, however because we are lucky enough to have Premade Paleo here in Atlanta, they deliver to local host programs (typically Crossfit gyms) all over Atlanta where you can pick up your food for free shipping! Woohoo! As Atlanta residents, we also get menu options the rest of the country doesn't get, and more variety IMO. I have been ordering their weekly 10 meal menus (they also have 20 meal and 40 meal options and a Whole30 Success pack), which come with 2 servings of 5 different proteins, and 2 servings of 10 3.5oz sides (20 total). So a meal will look like (1) 5oz protein, and (2) 3.5oz sides. Also for those who train hard, and feel 5oz's of protein is not enough, there is a "warrior" option, where you can order any meal plan with 8oz of protein instead of the 5 oz standard. The food arrives frozen in vacuum sealed bags, and there is usually a recommended pairing list of sides to go with which proteins, which you can follow or toss, it's up to you. Pre-made Paleo was a god send for me in December, when I was really really busy, and didn't have the time to cook healthy for myself. The meals were usually very delicious, and I love that it's so easy to cook, just get a large pot of water simmering, drop in the protein for 9 minutes and the sides for 4-5 minutes, and in less than 10 minutes you have a delicious Paleo healthy meal! I throw the rest of the packages in the freezer and they are there waiting for me when I need them! Most everything I have tasted as been good, some (like Rosemary beef) was phenomenal. It IS pricey, but as another reviewer mentioned, it's as if you have your own personal Paleo chef. Things I like: ~Customer service is wonderful. I mentioned that I couldn't stomach their pumpkin hash. *Bam!* Note was made to never send that again. ~The variety of vegetables I am eating is new for me. They make it very tasty and palatable for people like me, who aren't a huge fan of veggies. ~I'm thrilled that I'm eating organic, non-GMO, free range food. Clearly, that is part of the high price point. I feel my health is worth it. ~The nut and fruit snacks are amazing. Things I'd like to see done better: ~Customer service seems to have phone issues. I'm trying PreMade Paleo as a means to supplement my Whole30. Night shift work can be hectic and fitting in time to prep and cook between shifts was starting to become tedious. I currently live on the west coast and found out about PreMade Paleo through the Whole30 website. So, I ordered my first shipment of Whole30 without pork. I received an email a day after it shipped from Joseph at PreMade saying that they were unsure if they had sent the package without pork products and offered a $30 voucher towards my next order. So, I waited till the package was due to arrive. Except it didn't arrive nearly a week after it had been shipped. The meals did include pork products, but more worrisome, was that all of the items had been thawed out in this large insulated shipping container. I emailed the company to give them the update upon the arrival of the package and told them that was unsatisfied with what had happened with this order, but would still keep what I had paid for, but refrain from ordering again. In response, they shipped an entire order overnight. I received my original order and all of the products were perfectly frozen. I understand that mistakes do happen. But I do believe in forgiveness and I'm impressed at how this company operates in order to make things right. So, for going above and beyond what most companies would do, I give ya'll a 5/5. I am a fan for sure. I'm a mom with two littles, and I have an autoimmune disorder plus tons of food allergies. So the time and energy to cook separate meals to put myself back on track health wise just wasn't available. There have only been two items so far I haven't really liked, but the rest is very tasty and filling. The food is unpalatable, tasteless, and hard! I have been on the AIP diet for 2 months and have been cooking for myself (and I am not a good cook) just wanted a break from cooking and stumbling on Truefair. I am a fan of small business so after reading some reviews I gave them a try. The food arrived fast because they keep it frozen and it's in vacuum sealed plastic bags...gross! So of you want to eat at work be prepared to bring some scissors and a plate. Oh and an oven because microwaving is not recommended!!! All of the meat is hard, from the chicken to the meatloaf. And the side dishes are tasteless! I would have to say my biggest complaint is I don't feel like I'm consuming healthy food while eating truefairs products. On top of that the customer service was horrible. When I called to let them know about my experience the gentleman was yelling at me and saying plenty people like his product and I should too! Pre-Made Paleo has been a great plan for my daughter and I. I need the AIP, no pork, no coffee, and my daughter eats their regular whole 30 plan. When we had a family member visit, we switched our plan to two 10-day meal plans (described above) per week and had enough food (20 meals) for all three of us for the week (3x7=21). The food does not have strong flavors, which I like, because I can add my own AIP approved seasonings and my daughter can add whatever she wants to hers. I like that the ingredients are all foods and nothing else. Not only is the food health and delicious, their customer service is more than amazing. I would say at least half of these meals are inedible because of their poor flavor and texture. Occasionally, there is something decent, but more often than not the meat is dry or rubbery (especially the chicken) and there's simply not enough vegetables. And what makes this even worse is the high price of the meals. I actually wouldn't mind paying their prices if the food tasted better. Ordered food online on Sunday night anticipating delivery on Tuesday as stated. I got a call Monday morning saying I did not select a host. I agree, I did not because I selected UPS ground using a promo code for free shipping. I was told I had to go back online to select a host; so much for customer service. After I explained I was no where near a computer, he un-enthusiastically said he'd check a location by my house and call back. 20 minutes later he called with a location near my home, ok, guess ill just prepare to pickup next time. It arrived with the dry ice completely melted - but the food packets still felt cold. They said a replacement box was being shipped OVERNIGHT. It was actually shipped ground and arrived in 5 additional days. Next disappointment was when we tried the food. We rate it below average to inedible. I am a huge fan of delivery food services (i.e. HelloDirect, Blue Apron, etc) but they are always carb heavy. I decided to try Pre-Made Paleo meals to supplement my normal diet of more paleo-friendly eating and I'm glad I did. Yes, these meals are expensive, but they offer a wide variety of different vegetables and proteins, enough to keep you interested. I don't recommend you plan on eating just these meals for your Whole30, as they would get repetitive in my opinion, but the idea that these are out there for you to enjoy (following a defrosting, of course) quickly and easily is really helpful while you try to eat healthier. read more

I'm a whole 30 fan (been doing it for 3 years) and maybe the problem with these meals is that I'm a great cook when it comes to W30 breakfasts -- fresh sweet potatoes out of the oven along side of delicious scrambled eggs over sautéed onions and garlic along side organic, compliant sausage or bacon and maybe a cabbage salad and grapes -- tea and coffee. Then you tear open one of these little breakfast packages and find thinly sliced sweet potatoes, mushy and very few -- a mushroom or two if you're lucky in the soup. I got a coupon to try their sample meal for my wife and I. I did not pick up my meal right away as they say their meals will be frozen waiting for pickup. Anyway, when I went to get my meal they were in the fridge and not the freezer and basically had expired, and my wife's meal was missing. They were nice about replacing my meal and all but it made me think their operation was slightly amateur and they probably need to work out the kinks. Anyway, I got my meals eventually and I have to say that they were very disappointing. I understand the limitations of Paleo Diet and making meals healthy, but the taste was similar to what one would expect from airplane quality food. My wife and I have done Paleo diet and it really not that hard with preparation to make really good tasting meals which fit this diet. None of the meat items appeared to be seared and they tasted like they were cooked in the individual plastic bags they came in. The turnip puree was completely bland and tasteless, of all the side items one could prepare I don't really understand preparing and serving this bland turnip option. Pretty much all the food lacked flavor. I think the idea is pretty good but the execution appears to need some work. I think their regular price for the quality and size of these meals is rather exorbitant, but I understand the appeal to those who are busy or maybe aren't very good cooks and would like to pay for the convenience of individually portioned paleo meals. They claim these meals are prepared by a chef, but I really have to wonder if the quality of the food is being impacted by profit motive for any chef to turn out food this insipid and bland and attach their name to such mediocrity. The Autoimmune Protocol Diet from Pre-Made Paleo should be called the Anorexic Diet. A few days in, I realized the reason I felt so horrible and angry was because I wasn't getting anywhere near enough calories. I pulled out all the food and did some math to confirm. With my "10 Day Meal Plan" I received Breakfast, Menu P, and Menu Z. Obviously, with the different potential meal plans, your caloric intake may vary, but I'd be willing to bet it's about the same. With the food I received: - the average "meal" is 335 calories - the average daily calorie count is 934 calories - the potential minimum calorie count for a day is 720 calories & potential maximum is 1,160 calories An adult requires 2,000-2,500 calories to maintain their weight. Even when trying to lose weight, one should never have less than 1,500 calories. Based on these numbers, Pre-Made Paleo is trying to pass off 5 days of food as 10 days of food. When I pay $325 for 10 days of food, I expect 10 days of food, not 5 days of food or 10 days of an extremely dangerous (and surprise) crash diet. And as someone who previously suffered from an eating disorder for a long time, this was extra dangerous for me. I contacted the company about this issue. Joseph replied once and made completely false claims about each meal averaging 350-400 calories. He then blamed the issue on my "unique palate" (even though I mentioned I actually enjoyed the food itself and my only issue is with the false advertising/lying they use to get customers). When I replied with the above numbers, Joseph stopped replying. So here we are. 1 review down, 1 million more to go. This company is dangerous and they need to change the way they advertise their "meals" before someone gets seriously sick. People use meal services like this because of health issues and it is only a matter of time before someone's life ends up at risk because of their false claims. read more

Ordered a 14-day meal plan to start out a 9 week paleo challenge with my CrossFit gym. This isn't going to be a challenge at all... The food is delicious and the communication is great from Joseph. Food arrived in 2 days with free shipping. I didnt order any breakfasts,. but the lunch and dinner portions are tasty and gourmet in my opinion. All I do is pull out the individually wrapped portions out of the freezer a couple days in advance to thaw and pop each bag in the microwave for 2 minutes each. I'm on my fourth week of ordering food from this company and I'm really happy with what I have been getting. I started out by just choosing my own meal combos to make sure I would get options I wanted. I've since picked a meal plan of 5 meals each week. I haven't bought any of the breakfast items since I'm always on the go in the morning. I have just been sticking to dinners and lunch. Meals I've enjoyed include: the Chilean sea bass, beef brisket, all of my chicken dishes, beef chili, and pork meatballs. I add some of the seasonings they send usually, and salt and pepper. On the major plus side you are getting meals that I believe are very low in sodium, which is hard to find with pre-prepped food. My only meal I didn't like was the salmon, but I have high standards coming from the pacific northwest. I'm currently living in the middle of no where with limited access to decent grocery stores, so pre-made paleo has been really nice and easy. I had one problem with an order due to UPS and Pre-made paleo had a new order out next day for me which was really great. Customer service so far from them gets 5 stars, if I had liked the salmon they would have gotten 5 stars here. Cost-wise it is fairly affordable if you factor in the time you aren't spending at the grocery store, prepping, and cooking every night; $85 (with shipping) weekly is pretty good considering your getting grass fed meats and organic fruits and veggies. read more

Some of the dishes are delish, and some are meh. None of them are gross, so that's a plus. I think once you learn how to season the food to your taste and what to boil in the bags and what can be thrown on a skillet for optimum taste - you'll really be mostly satisfied with the meals. Things to note: 1) There is a lot of chicken. My fave is the beef, but if I wanted more beef meals - the charge is extra. 2) The packaging and delivery are stellar. 3) The breakfast selections are limited - so you either you like their breakfast or you might have to find other options. 4) If you order a subscription, the trail mix is free. That said, I got bored with the trail mix by the second week. 5) The phone communication sucks. There is a delay when you are talking and a weird static. So if you like to talk on the phone for customer service, you will get frustrated. 6) If you order a subscription plan - READ the terms of service. There is a lot of stuff you get charged extra for - like cancellation if you don't re-order your subscription 3?? times or something like that. I can't stress this enough. READ IT carefully. 7) I was worried that the 5 oz. proteins would be too small, but it was more than enough food for this adult, semi-active woman. In fact, after my body acclimated the fresh foods - I needed less of the food because I stayed full and felt satiated longer, so the meals lasted longer. I think it is worth the money, even though it is easy to balk at the original price tags. I like the convenience the best and the fact they get their veg from local farms. So there is a lot of good, but read, read, read the small print. Reading will save you a lot of frustrating emails for clarification. I am dinging this a few stars for meh customer service, weird rules and lack of flexibility with switching out things you don't want / want more of. I was hesitant to try it after seeing the negative reviews but everything was tasty and we had no problems with delivery etc. We will definitely be ordering again. I'm a semi-sorry I didn't read the reviews first. I received a week's worth of meals including the warrior and white meat upgrade options and added some breakfast quiches to the order. It's true: the chicken is dry, bland and close to overcooked. It is also true that the directions warn against using a microwave and the food is def better when slow-thawed and then reheated at low temps in a frying pan. I'm happy with the order and will finish it because it is still portion controlled, grassfed/pastured/organic and with a little more fat that I can add to it (bacon will help a lot), can be made tasty enough and it's still more convenient than cooking from scratch when I'm busy. I do not know that I will re-order until I sample some other services. I went with Pre-made Paleo because they are east of the Rockies and so am I. I hope Pre-Made Paleo is taking note that there are other competitors who are doing very well in what they offer. Here's the positives and negatives of Pre-Made Paleo. Positives... 1. They say the food is local sourced when possible and hormone free. 2. It's a decent portion size. 3. Their breakfast food and trail mix are pretty good and those would probably be the only thing I would buy at this point from them. 4. Several ATL locations you can pick up from. 5. Very responsive customer service. 6. Lots of options for different menus Now the negatives... 1. BLAND FOOD!!!! - Seriously after having food from a local competitor my eyes were opened. I always felt the food typically lacked flavor but I do know great tasting Paleo delivery is out there in the ATL now. It is not Pre-Made Paleo. 2. Lack of sides - There used to be two different veggies per meat. Now they are taking a short cut and just offering one larger veggie per meat. That equals less variety. Yes, I took note of that. 3. Breast meat is EXTRA. You get thigh meat by default. C'mon Pre-Made Paleo. These meals are NOT cheap. The competitor only does breast included and is actually slightly cheaper with still high quality ingredients. 4. Beef tends to be like stew meat. The other place has actually a decent cut of steak they offer every week cooked different ways. 5. No fish or seafood. The other place offers at least a couple salmon, scallops or shrimp most weeks on a 5 day meal plan. 6. FROZEN food. The other place has fresh food that you may CHOOSE to freeze but don't have too. They prepare it the day before you pick it up. Pre-Made Paleo has weeks of previous meals you can choose from because they are FROZEN. 7. No uncooked veggie dishes. Everything is cooked. While at the other place they have cooked and uncooked veggie dishes (e.g. Paleo cole slaw, sweet potato salad, cucumber salad, etc) 8. Short Cuts on the Veggies... Puréed veggies? Really? I am not a hospital patient on a special diet or a baby. Cauliflower mash is fine but straight purée??? Nope. Plus what's the deal with the Brussels sprouts. It's like Brussels sprout overload... This way and that way. Seems like it's too overused. I'm sorry Pre-Made Paleo... You have got to get on your A game and not get too stuck in how you are doing things. I don't mean this to be a knock but you need to know what is out there and why you lost a regular customer. read more

I found Pre-Made Paleo through the Whole 30 / Whole 9 website. The fact that it had the Whole 30 seal of approval was a huge selling point for me ... I did a Whole 30 once last year and spent SO MUCH TIME in the kitchen, and quite a bit of money on food as well ... the idea that I could get Whole 30 compliant meals delivered and not have to cook or prep ... too good to be true, right ? Well, no, it *is* true ... As long as your expectations are realistic. Yes, the food is prepared by a chef, but keep in mind that it is cooked, vacuum sealed, frozen, and then shipped (potentially) cross country on dry ice before you defrost or reheat it and eat it. I was not expecting restaurant quality gourmet food, but I definitely wanted something palatable and enjoyable. And that's what I got. So far I have tried the thai chicken coconut soup (not as good as the Thai place down the street, but tasty enough, and the chicken was tender and flavorful), the "white meatloaf" (looks scary but is surprisingly tasty !!), the green bean vegetable side (slightly undercooked, which is okay with green beans because they stay crisp, but it had some odd seasoning that I couldn't place ... that's just personal preference, though) and the pork breakfast skillet (pork sausage was good, the sweet potato cubes were a little undercooked, still too firm) ... oh, and the Paleo trail mix (the trail mix is excellent, though it's pretty hard to screw up trail mix !) So far I'm pretty happy. If everything stays at about this level of quality, I give the whole operation a B+ and will definitely order again. The convenience alone is worth it. I am all the way on the west coast and there was a slight shipping snafu - it was supposed to be a 4-day trip, but because of a holiday weekend my package took EIGHT DAYS to get to me. I was pretty sure I'd receive a box of room temperature food that would be spoiled. Not so ... about 30% of the food was still frozen (the stuff in the middle) and the outside packages were defrosted, but still very cold. Too defrosted to re-freeze, though. I notified the company of this, and got a personal e-mail from the owner with an explanation and an offer of a $25 coupon for my next order. This food is sooooo much better than I expected - it's really tasty! The other reviews worried me but I just finished Day 2 (of a 10 day package and have been more than happy with everything I've eaten. I wish it weren't so pricey since it won't be sustainable for me but I'm hoping it gets me on the right track. I found Premade Paleo through the Whole 9 website and decided to purchase the 30 day plan ( over $900) to supplement my Whole60. I ordered on a Wednesday and knew from the website that the order would not ship until the following Monday. I received an email confirmation, with a UPS tracking number, on Monday stating that the order had shppied, but when I tracked the food didn't actually ship until Wednesday. The order arrived on Thursday. The food is packaged in 10 meal packages that are numbered and contain a menu of what is inside each packet. The meals are very good, but my biggest disappointment is the amount of repeat meals and how many of the packets didn't contain what the menu said they contained - surprisingly, no where close. Three of my six packets contained the exact same meals and sides as did two of the others. There was no variety for 30 days of meals at all. Two of the six packets were shorted an entree and contained an additional side item instead. One contained three of one entree, instead of two, and only one of another. The food is definitely good, quality food, but the 30 day purchase needs to have much more variety than it does. I am all for leftovers, but this was too redundant. They obviously have some kinks to work out, and if they do I would order again. read more

I ordered the 5 day plan as a test. Dissapointed inall of the the portion sizes-especially breakfast. The breakfast pak was a total of 5 ounces includng the vegies and protein. Totally insufficient. Tried a few items, so far OK but not spectacular. Probably better to make myself and freeze for convenience. For the price, a liittle skimpy. read more

Their trail mix is out of this world! Seriously. And the rest of their food is quite good, too - very flavorful, good portions, and a nice variety. I started doing a Whole30 diet in January with my friends. These guys have been life savers, as with the hours I work I don't usually have time to cook on weekdays. It's great to be able to bring some entrees and veggies with me to the office. They are also genuinely nice people who really care about customer service. I recommend them very highly. read more

I tried the 20 meal plan every 14 days and I was impressed with the variety. The quality of the food was excellent. This plan kept me from eating the kid friendly foods that is easy to make but hard to stay fit. Pre-Made Paleo was also a hit with my very picky husband. read more

Pre-made Paleo is a great option when you want a healthy and nutritious meal but don't have time to cook or get to the store, especially during Whole 30. I recommend using a frying pan rather than a microwave to heat the food up. I live in CA, and Monday shipments have reached me by the end of the week. I had a shipping snafu due to bad weather across much of the country. But the food still arrived frozen, and I also was given a partial refund. read more
