Misleading (if not outright bait-and-switch) pricing (and zero communication)! Been coming to Lake Chelan for spring break for over a decade, and this year with a focus on health, was excited to try True Fitness as they advertise drop-in options. Instead, got a frustrating mix of being ignored, wasting time, and being quoted a higher price than what's clearly posted on their own signage. I called a month in advance and left a voicemail (but never a response). Once in town, stopped by Friday at 2 PM. No staff on site, but there's a sign telling you to call or text. Did, and then stood there waiting for over 20 minutes with no response. Eventually left, only to get a reply 45 minutes later saying someone would be there from 4-8 PM. Came back at 4:30 PM. Staff there (win), but went downhill fast... After filling out release waiver, quoted over $43 for a weekly pass. The sign taped to the inside window of the gym facing the outside clearly states $38.95 (with tax). No disclaimer, no "subject to change", just a different, lower price posted right in front of potential customers. When I asked about it, the response was basically a shrug: "prices change. " No apology. No explanation. No effort to honor the posted price. Just "I'll try to tell the owner." That's not a small oversight, that's misleading (at best). You don't get to advertise one price and charge another without expecting customers to question your integrity. To recap, while the pricing was the nail in the coffin, there are multiple issues at play: * Ignored voicemail a month in advance * No response while we were standing outside trying to get in * No clear staffed hours posted * Incorrect pricing displayed with zero accountability These are basic operational standards, and they're all being missed. For the owner, this is fixable, but only if taken seriously: * Fix or remove incorrect pricing immediately * Honor posted prices when you're wrong * Set clear expectations for response times * Post actual staffed hours * Train staff to handle issues with accountability, not indifference The equipment looked solid, which honestly makes this more frustrating. The problem isn't the gym but rather it's how it's being run. If you're a local, maybe you tolerate this. But if you're visiting and expecting basic professionalism and transparency, this place is not delivering. It's not about a few dollars, it's about trust. And right now, that's exactly what's lacking! read more

I tried to get a day pass here. Their sign on the door said to call or text this number: 1 (425) 273-5762. I called twice and texted to try and buy a day pass. The text responses each took 15-20 minutes to respond. Incredibly rude and frustrating, do not support this place. read more

I love this gym! Everytime I visit Chelan, I can count on dropping in at True Fitness year round for a solid work out. It is clean, full of up to date & working cardio equipment (treadmills, elliptical & my fav stairsteppers), free weights, squat racks, and other stuff I don't know names of. I've been working out with Ty for a little over a year. "He is amazing" goes without saying. But what makes him amazing is what keeps you coming back. For me, two things stand out. He cares about YOU. He's not just running you through some canned program. He takes into account your goals, your body type and most importantly your injuries. And speaking of injuries, he will show you how to either work around the injury or help heal it and make things stronger. Secondly, this guy knows how to mix it up! I don't care if you're female trying to lean out and loose some extra weight while getting fit, or you're a body builder wanting to get ready to show. You will never get bored with the bag of tricks Ty possesses! The facilities are amazing! New, state of the art equipment, big screen TV's everywhere, roll up doors to bring the outside, inside! Finally, the people. Ty & Alicia are the real deal who love what they do and the people that come into their gym. Visit them for a day, a week, a month or a lifetime. Ty is a great trainer. I am rehabbing my knee two weeks post surgery. I wanted to keep my PT on track so booked a personal training apt and was so glad that I did. Ty not only provided a great work out he taught me things that I can do at home during the Covid 19 shut down. Do yourself a favor when you are in Chelan and book a few sessions with Ty. read more

The question is, "What do you want out of a gym?" For most of us, all we need is a clean, accessible place to work out on a flexible schedule. That's what we've got here. No showers - do that at home. No pool - we gotta lake here, donchaknow? And bring your own dang towel, OK? But, you want to work out at 3:00 AM? Fine. You've got a card that'll get you in. Need to use a restroom - hey, it's clean! So what if the place hasn't got every exercise machine made by man, you're in stinking Manson, get over it! Be happy that the place is here. Maybe they don't have a ton of classes, hot yoga, a masseuse, or 15 guys wanting to personally train you. Does this look like downtown Seattle? Bellevue? Didn't think so. Need personal attention? Yeah they've got it but it's going to cost you big time! A little pricey but most people in a gym already have a program. Take a few classes, pay for some sessions, figure out what to do and move on. So bring your towel, water bottle, headphones and IPod, do your workout and go home. The rates are reasonable, it's clean, the machines are new, you've got 4 TVs to watch and the background music isn't making your ears bleed. What more do you need? read more

Great gym! Even better now that they have two locations. Both locations have really nice equipment and you don't ever have to wait for a machine. Both locations are also close to the hotels/resorts so if you're just in town visiting, you could walk to one of the gyms as well! read more

If you are in the area and you need a gym, just drive the 5 extra miles to Manson. This blows away the other gym in the area, staff is friendly and helpful, they are inexpensive, and open 24 hours. Good selection if aerobic, weight, cross fit and other workout equipment. Don't waste your time in Chelan. Excellent gym. read more

We LOVE this gym! This is the cleanest, friendliest, and most convenient gym to go to when we vacation in Chelan. It is super close to Chelan (really about five minutes from 'downtown' Chelan) and is somewhat hidden behind the Red Apple Market. We found this gym by accident and have been going for the last two summers. It is everything you would want in a gym on vacation, lots of cardio machines (bikes, treadmills, ellipticals) and tons of free weights up to I think right around 120lbs. They have a nice selection of machines so you don't have to wait for people to be done with their set. The thing that makes this gym absolutely shine is the owners - Ty and Ali. They are SOOO friendly, very helpful and they are super inspiring. We love going there because they truly make you feel special. Thank you both so much for being motivating, caring, and sweet! You make our vacation that much more special! (and we don't feel as bad eating smores knowing we have worked out!) read more

I've been a member of this gym since they opened several years ago in their first location in Manson. The owners are (first and foremost) honest, hardworking, dedicated, friendly, helpful, personable, KIND, and very supportive in their community. The gym is ALWAYS clean and very well maintained. They run a very professional and well respected business. Ty and Alicia are both in great shape--they practice what they preach--and are inspirational and supportive to those of us who (ahem) are not in such great shape. The machines are top quality, well maintained, clean -- nice stuff. Wifi is available while you work out, as well as TVs and music, fans, great parking, etc. I am a member of both locations so I can work out with my friends in Chelan if I find myself in that direction. It's worth the extra few bucks for the flexibility. TRUE FITNESS GYMS ARE TOTALLY WORTH THE PRICE. As in all things - you get what you pay for, folks. I couldn't recommend them higher.
