We initially thought this was a great school, but over time, severe safety, cultural, and academic…read moreissues became apparent. Administration consistently prioritizes the school's reputation over student well-being. Severe Bullying & Dismissed Violence Bullying is very rampant, and administrators sweep physical fights under the rug. My child was punched in the face during a PE activity of tag for catching another student in the game, which leadership dismissed as an "accident." On multiple occasions, another student hit my child under direct teacher supervision; the teacher did not care, and leadership dismissed it as well. These are not isolated incidents but is instead a culture actively fostered. Physical Staff Outbursts Some teachers get physical with students. A school counselor violently yanked a desk, causing a student to fall. Another teacher pulled multiple students' arms. Despite video verification and multiple student reports, that teacher is still employed. Administration only offered to switch the reporting students' classes rather than taking disciplinary action even after receiving video verification through school security cameras. Academic Neglect & Discouragement There are many kindhearted and great teachers but we have experienced many that were in favor of the bare minimum. They assign excessive homework on content barely or even completely uncovered in class, straining parents. When my student advocated for tutoring in a challenging subject as they received in the past before, their teacher completely rejected them. After I stepped in to tutor my child at home, the teacher explicitly accused my child of cheating multiple times and destroyed their confidence in a subject they were trying hard to master. Unreported Missing Students During student dismissals, multiple students have gone missing. Administration hides these incidents. While waiting for my own child who was released late, I witnessed teachers frantically searching for two missing students (one a kindergartener) who had left school grounds. The school never communicated this to the parents, likely because the affected family did not speak English. Hypocritical Food Confiscation Under the guise of "healthy eating," staff completely confiscates students' lunches and snacks without warning, including whole-food snacks and PB&Js. Disturbingly, leadership admitted these snacks are given to the staff to eat because "the staff works so hard" when students questioned why staff can eat unhealthy things but the students can't. Confiscated lunches are never replaced, leaving children hungry, even though the cafeteria serves the exact same items. When students point this out, staff has told them that it's not PB&J sandwiches they're serving, but sunflower butter ones which is contrary to their school menu that states they serve both in their cafeteria. On another occasion, staff was selling chip bags and then confiscating the same chip bags later since they were unhealthy. This hypocritical policy meant to "demonstrate school health guidelines" is only selectively enforced based on opportunistic gain rather than from a place of genuine concern for student wellbeing. Inappropriate Political & Ideological Pressure Staff aggressively pushes personal political ideologies on young children. During a gender discussion, my 6th grader stated she was happy being a girl. The teacher targeted her in front of the class, stating, "Are you sure? That's kind of boring, you can be a boy too," repeatedly putting her on the spot. In another incident, a teacher asked students who their parents voted for, then declared to the class that all white ethnic people are racist and that they would never vote for a white politician. This school jeopardizes child safety for appearances, fosters unchecked bullying, permits physical outbursts from staff, and pressures children with political speech and peer pressure. Parents, please talk to your kids about what is really happening in school.

Colonnade has been caring for my little one for over a 18-months and they're incredible. I haven't encountered a single staff member that isn't warm, welcoming, and all-around fantastic at what they do at Colonnade. The tuition isn't the cheapest you will find, but you get what you pay for and I'm so grateful to have my child here. Their lines of communication is great - I never feel out of touch. The only downside that I can think of, which can easily be a deal-breaker for some, is their location: pick-up and drop-off can be tough when there's a lot of traffic on Speer, but everything else about this place makes up for the less-than-ideal location for our family.

You'll like it here! The staff and administration are welcoming and inclusive, and want to hear from you when things are good and even not-so-good. They are open and warm, and are willing to work with you regarding your child's needs. They also challenge your student to want to learn, and do better. They have after school child care. They have fun and inclusive sports teams, and enrichment programs that meet a lot of kids' interests and talents. School to parent communication is effective and swift. Please give this school a look and decide for yourself. If you are looking for a faith based, strong Catholic community with challenging academics, give them a call and arrange a visit.

We have had an outstanding experience the last 3 years at Blessed Sacrament. Our children,…read morecurrently 1st grade and P4, are leagues ahead of their public school peers. We were particularly impressed with how many in person days we achieved during the pandemic without our children getting sick even once. The administration is very thoughtful and deliberate in the decisions they make and the direction the school moves. We are so grateful for the teachers and staff who are unbelievably kind and generous.

He kept his head down and flew under the radar and was diagnosed with high functioning ASD in 9th grade. TGS knocks down the walls of judgment against neurodiverse kids that exist in public schools and give them new tools to achieve their potential each day in creative ways so that kids learn to express themselves and feel heard and accepted.

It also enabled him to set up a high school game plan on the jobs he took in high school, along with classes and other activities. The summer between junior and senior year, he worked on his personal statement essay along with the individual essays for the colleges in which he will apply. He had a great head start on these before his senior year classes began. What I love about having Piotr, Jack and the team at Delehey College Consulting behind us, is that they helped preserve the relationship we have with our son. They were there to ask questions and bounce ideas off of. They gave him great feedback on the essays he wrote and even though our son gave them to us to read, the feedback that Piotr provided even though it was similar to our feedback and thoughts, carried more weight as he was the expert in my son's eyes. I don't yet know the outcome of my son's college applications, but I do know that without Delehey College Consulting and Piotr's advice and guidance my son's application would not be as strong as it is and he wouldn't be as prepared as he was at the start of his school year which alleviated a great deal of stress and even got us a thank you for the push to get the essays mostly completed before the school year began. We interviewed several College Consultants and went with the consultant that my son felt most comfortable with and that he could work with the best. Delehey College Consulting wasn't the cheapest option, but in our eyes it was the best option and provided us the best bang for the buck. My son and I have known that we could ask any question and it would be answered in a short amount of time. We know that they will be there for us until my son determines which school he will attend next school year. Jack was extremely thorough and helped my son get accepted to his first choice within 3 weeks, in the first batch of waitlist applicants! What really differentiates Jack is his ability to motivate! I felt my son really put in the extra effort and responded to Jack's direction. So often this is the tiny difference between acceptance and just another application. I would highly recommend Jack to anyone.
