She specializes in strategic test taking and test anxiety, which are the two tools you need the most when taking a timed exam. Grace has over four years of formal teaching experience and then eight years of tutoring experience. Math is not an easy subject to learn, and not easy to teach, but she makes it simple and fun, and follows up with students to make sure that they fully understand the concepts. Like I said, she is awesome at finding ways to set students up for success and eliminate test anxiety while highlighting and simplifying test taking into strategies and time management. They also make sure to be available via text if you have any questions, which I haven't seen before. Only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the camps are only from 9a-3p and I have to pay extra to be able to have them there from 8a-4p (and even that requires that my husband and I split drop-off and pick-up to accommodate our 8-hour work days). I appreciate that the camps are fun and educational, and I also appreciate that the attendees are diverse. The camps are pricier than others in the area, but they also have a small student-to-staff ratio of 6:1 that I prefer. (I find that larger ratios mean that well-intentioned adults don't always know what all the kids are saying/doing and my little ones pick up habits that I don't like). I also echo the challenge with the camp hours: 8am-4pm (with an extra daily cost for this extended care rather than 9am-3pm standard hours) is tricky for working parents. Even though the hours aren't ideal, we'll be sending our kids here again.
