They load patients up with unnecessary meds, try to keep you there longer than necessary, and spend their days in the drs lounge. I'm a Vietnam-era medical corpsman, have seen a lot. Been in a few hospitals - never have I seen such patient abuse in a modern hospital. If I had the funds I would sue these people, expose them for the world to see. Number two is they failed to disclose that my little brother had had an anoxic event (lack of oxygen to his brain) after his breathing tube was dislodged. Try getting records and they will give you the run around. I wanted to file a sentinel complaint but the hospital said they would not. I'm also a provider and had to run the entire code while my brother was seizing while he was intubated. After having a nosocomial infection that was, number one, untreated number two, had no access to central venous line. Had a PA tell me my brother was dying only to be called by the Intensivist to say he was ok and no to listen to the people "not in charge of my brother's care" I went to the board of law in Texas and they can't take the case because of the limits to malpractice laws for Texas. When I requested a referral to an orthopedic specialist, I was told that a conservative approach had to be followed first. No tests were done, and no prescriptions were given. Frustrated, I went to the ER, where a CT scan revealed that I had a knee fracture. They provided pain relief injections, prescribed medication, and referred me to an orthopedic surgeon. WellMed is hit or miss--some doctors are great, but many of the PAs seem unqualified to properly treat patients.

Then it took 18 days to finally get my prescription. And guess what, another 100 days. I now have to make 3 trips through out the month to get my meds. I knocked 3x as I stood there and watched the security guard and a nurse chit chat just 4-5 feet away inside the door. 2 other nurses walked by and looked at me and kept walking. Finally, a nurse walked out and said something to the nurse talking to the security guard and he opened it. The Dr came in and did the procedure on my brother around 9am. I walked out the door and told th adr that I would be sitting in the chairs by the door. (My back was literally 6 inches from the door) Somehow I never heard the Dr leave the room and he didn't come looking for me so I didn't know my brother was done til after an hour and a half after they finished.
