I would say anyone would be hard pressed to find such an Ahhhhhmazing place that includes so much- anywhere. This place is a true sanctuary - all open to the public 7 days a week. It has an incredible thoughtfully stocked boutique to purchase gifts or wellness items, an organic cafe where the food actually tastes healthy and nourishing, beautiful yoga spaces and a spa, and gardens complete with labyrinth and a foot reflexology path. Such a beautiful place! It's a spa, a yoga studio, a crystal, woo woo, holistic health and wellness store, We need more like this, spreading peaceful energy. They have a coffee shop/restaurant inside and everyone made in house, all the plant based options of your dreams. This is the ultimate retreat. It's an easy drive from Denver that takes less than 3 hours. We worked with Alison to create our dream itinerary for my sister and I. We saw a myriad of staff and therapists for our spa indulgences over the period of several days. Stephanie, Cameron and Ishara are all standouts and provide sublime service. Alison is in a league of her own with extraordinary service and personal touches. She is the epitome of customer service. This is not an inexpensive place, but rather a series of planned treatments to provide the best custom relaxation plan. I had some tried and true favorites scheduled as well as new experiences. Ah! So Zen!! I absolutely love this place!! It is so cute and calming and just a lovely place to be! I booked a last minute same day appointment and they were able to accommodate me. Wanted to love this beautiful yoga studio, but classes are hit and (mostly) miss while none of the staff encountered clearly knew what their energy-work "body treatment" should entail. Especially the therapist who seemed to run out of movements during my 90-minute session and only hovered over my body despite asking for a energy-work massage when I booked the apt. After experiencing powerful and experienced energy work and cranial sacral (Elizabeth at The Light Circle in Glenwood Springs is legit), I explained to the staff how disappointed I was the therapist didn't appear to know what to do and was told maybe energy work "wasn't for me." Can't recommend going to any yoga class with a sub since a meditation teacher will give a yin-style yoga during the advertised vinyasa movement slot or one of the consistently rotating staff leads awkward and downright dangerous positions for the restorative stretching class. Attendees stared at each other as we contorted over props to unwind. Emilee's classes are just lovely if you can make it. Bummer more can't be like hers. read more

I had a really good facial here but the massage was borderline dangerous. I really thought she was going to break a rib with her knee in my back. Truly the worst massage experience in 30+ years. I stopped in Carbondale while on my way back from the Western slope during theThanksgiving weekend, hoping to get a last minute massage. I'm not sure if this is normal, but I was able to schedule a same day appt at True Nature with Paul. It was just what I needed! Tuning forks, moist heat therapy and more... Paul pulled out all the stops I've never received with any other standard massage. You never know with a new therapist but I was very pleasantly surprised. It's also in a beautiful, peaceful building, I didn't mind waiting on premises as I landed 45 mins early. read more

Overbooked class and horrible treatment! I live on the front range and visit Glenwood Springs for getaways. On my last visit I had a conversation with a nice lady at the pool and after telling her that I was an alternative practitioner she that told me about True Nature Healing Center thinking I would enjoy it. She then explained that they were having a song bowl meditation the next evening and that it frequently sold out. So, I went on line and purchased my spot. There description also stated that it usually sells out and to arrive 10 minutes early. Having never been to carbondale I left early so that I would arrive at least 20 minutes prior to the meditation. I used my GPS to find the center. Upon arrival in carbondale I discovered there was a festival in town and some of the streets were blocked off. It took me a while to drive around and find the center. However there was no parking anywhere in town because of this festival and I drove around and around and finally found a spot. I walked quite a long way to finally arrive, still 5 minutes early. When I checked in at the desk the very nice lady told me that I could just go on up. I explained that I had never been there before so I didn't know where it was. Then another lady (blonde with an Australian type accent, appeared to be a manager or maybe the owner) walked up behind the desk and blurted out " I'm pretty sure its already full". I then explained that I pre-purchased a spot on line. She said, "well we can go up and look but I don't think there is any room". We walked to the top of the stairs and she then turned around and very rudely stated " It clearly states on the website to arrive by 7:00pm for this event" (it does not say that, it say's to arrive 10 minutes early). I am not feeling very welcomed at this point, more like attacked, she opens the door and it is dark and the event has clearly already started and she turns to me and says "well, what do you think"? I'm flabbergasted by her behavior at this point and tell her "I don't know what you mean"? and she continues "well do you see any space to lay down" I continued " I don't even know how to respond to that" and she says "I can put you in front of the door, I'll get you a mat". Now I am getting mad and can't believe someone would treat me this way and when she returns I tell her that I'm going to leave and can she just refund me my money. She say's she can and we return back to the desk. While she is helping the lady figure out the refund another women walks in and states that she is also there for the meditation and the same women tells her "its sold out". This lady also explained that she had reserved a spot and the women again states "its sold out", looks at her watch and says " it is now 7:33, this event started at 7:30". The lady is also upset and say's I don't understand why you take reservations?" and she turned around and left. As I am getting ready to leave, very upset, this woman then say's that she is sorry and if I would like I can go up and meditate in the chapel next door and I will be able to hear the bowls and she won't charge me for it! Unbelievable!! This felt like big business anywhere in the USA. Does she really think after being treated in such a foul manner that I would even be able to meditate? I will take responsibility for my part in this that although I thought I had allowed plenty of time I was not there as early as I had anticipated. However, these people should have taken responsibility for the fact that they clearly over-booked this event, did not respect their reservations, did not notify anyone or allow for the fact that there was a festival in there town and that it might be difficult to park and get to them and they clearly had started early. I work with people all the time in my practice and I have learned that you never know what burned others are carrying around. I have recently suffered an unimaginable tragedy in my life and went seeking some compassion and peace, shame on you for treating people in this manner. If this is what Buddhism is all about - no thank you. I would never return to this center nor would I recommend it to anyone. read more

I had a massage here while on vacation. I had just covered 200 touring miles on my bicycle (about 60lbs of total loaded weight) in two days and I needed some help. I called in and they were able to get me in same day for an hour and a half massage. At first I was floored at how expensive it was, but I knew that I needed some help getting my IT band to release over my knees. If I didn't the next 10 days of vacation and riding would be pointless. As I am absolutely horrible with names, I cannot remember the gentleman's name that did my massage. I cannot say enough good things about his work though. As an avid athlete, I get massages weekly back home. This man managed to work on every issue I brought up and did so thoroughly. He understood that I need body work done, not just a relaxing massage. Having said that, there would be no question in my mind that he could provide one of the most amazing relaxing massages ever. The atmosphere was exactly as you would expect. No details were left unattended to. Perhaps the massage rates are normal for this area since it's heavy with tourists, I'm just used to paying $85/hr back in Dallas for professional massage therapists that have worked on the Dallas Stars for a living in the past. That's my only reason for only 4 stars instead of 5. read more
