I had been looking a hair salon to go to after the girl left the other place I was going to and I found True. Gabriella is THE BEST! I watched her do someone's makeup today and it was stunning. She is truly the master of her craft in both hair and makeup. Not everyone can do that. I've been seeing Gabby for what i think is 8 years now and she kills it every time. I have had the privilege of seeing her grow into an exceptional stylist. I always leave happy no matter what the visit is for. She checks in every visit to ask what it is i want, rather then assuming it would be the same as the last. Hi, my daughter got her hair done tonight by Sam. Not only is her hair not fully colored( see pictures below) but she also ruined her brand new sweatshirt. I was charged 195$ for the bottom of her hair to be colored and it wasn't even done correctly. I would NOT see Sam for any of your hair needs. I feel like I was over charged for my daughter to not be happy with her hair and her brand new shirt to be ruined. I now have to take her back to the salon to have someone else fix Sam's mistake. I will be calling the salon tomorrow to let them know how unprofessional I feel this service was for the first time my daughter ever had her hair dyed. She was so excited but now crying of how upset she is with the outcome. I have attached the picture we showed her that we wanted it to look like. read more

I was shocked with the lack of professionalism at True "Salon." In particular with the "supervisor," Cara Conn. Last Saturday, October 12, 2019 I was there with a bridal party for hair. Our party was large and some of us were waiting our turn for hair. In walks Cara Conn with an annoyed look on her face from the moment she walked in. Not knowing yet that she was a so called supervisor, I noticed she walked over to the bride. One of the 12 people could not make it in to get her hair done. As she walked away I heard her say with an annoyed tone, "you know, I could have stayed at home longer with my baby! I got up at 6:30!!" I honestly could not believe what I heard!!!! How unprofessional and RUDE!!!!!! Then to my surprise as there were 4 of us still waiting for hair, she sat down at the front desk with an attitude and told another stylist that she was not going to help out because she was pissed and she was just going to work the front desk instead!!!! As the 4 of us sat there waiting, we watched her talk about us with another Stylist at the desk and complain. It was truly unbelievable!!! I honestly do not know how people work with a person like her, I feel bad for each and every one of those stylist that have to look at her face all day. I can only imagine how she treats them if she treats customers this way!!!! Along with her wickedness- the salon stylists, with the exception of a few (Stephanie, Becca and a couple I don't know their names) were not good at all. For the amount of money we had to PRE-PAY, it was a joke! The bride was so embarrassed. One of our bridesmaids hair started to fall out as soon as she got in the car, we took her back to get it fixed. Another bridesmaid completely took her hair out and did it herself at the bride's house. Apparently this salon is not equipped to handle a bridal party since they had to pull stylist that do not do formal hair and it clearly showed. Disappointed is an understatement. read more

Stopped in after gymming to get a quick brow/lip wax without an appointment. While I waited, I was given a quick tour of the place: massage rooms, waxing rooms, mani/pedi area, cutting/coloring stations and a consultation area for fitting cancer patients with wigs. Everything is brand new and spotless, hopefully it's maintained (confession: I'm skeptical because I've been watching too many episodes of Tabitha's Salon Takeover). The wait wasn't too long and the waxing was short and sweet, a perfectly timed pit-stop amidst Saturday morning errands. The service was very friendly, professional and inexpensive. I think I found a new beauty spot. read more

I was sent to Gale at True Salon by my cancer center to assist me with a wig I would need while receiving chemo for breast cancer. Gale never measured my head or tried any wings on me as I told her that there was a wig I was interested in. She placed the order, and when it was in I went to pick it up. Upon leaving the salon with the wig on, even though I had not lost my hair yet, I resembled cousin It, with a huge amount of hair falling down in my face. I looked redicolous! I tried the wig several times, always ending in the same result, it was too big! All it did was slide up off my head at the slightest movement. I ended up contacting Girl On The Go, and they came to my home. The first thing they did was measure my head, and told me my head was considered petite, and the only way the wig sold to my at the salon would fit was to sew the cap inside to make it smaller. I do not recommend going to see Gale. She is distracted in general dealing with clients. Something I also learned was most salons listed actually give the wigs to cancer clients, asking for a donation if possible. read more

Very nice place with modern amenities. However, they bait and switch you with the price. I asked for the price to touch up my roots and the stylist assessed my hair by feeling it for the thickness, commenting on the length, and acknowledging all I needed was my roots to be touched up. She quoted me $56 before we started and I accepted continuing with the service. When it was time to pay, she was charging me $85 without even blow drying my hair (I was in a hurry to leave). When I asked for the break down, she said $56 was the starting price and that due to the length of my hair she was giving me a bargain at $85. This was infuriating since she assessed my hair in front of two other women working there and said the $56 was the price to touch up my roots. Never warned me that this was a "starting price" and that this quote would go up. I was in a rush to leave so I did not have time to argue however, I will never go back there again with these unethical practices. The only silver lining was the hair washing assistant (Joette) who was very sweet, friendly, and would always be offering to bring me coffee, food, or anything to make me more comfortable. Last tip - it was a Saturday morning and this place was empty!! Just one other client there. This should have been a big red flag. Now I know better. read more

This is the freshest and exciting new salon to open in a long time. The staff takes time to listen and give suggestions. They do wonderful work and have a good time doing it. This place is very big and you don't feel crammed. The spa is a special treat because you walk into a whole different atmosphere with soft warm tones with sounds to match. There is one very special service True provides in the privacy a special room inside the spa. They cater to females that have gone through chemotherapy where they can any service including wigs custom fitted with pride and dignity. Finally a place that handles these delicate situations has opened in New Jersey. You have to stop by and take a tour you will be very impressed I was. Ask for Gail she'll show you around. My wife had a 12 noon appointment. They started at 12:50. When she asked for a "toner" and the person she scheduled the appointment with to apply it, the woman Adrian got angry, stood over her, slopped on color and berated her in front of other customers. My wife was so upset, understandably so, she left with her hair wet, unfinished, and actually paid! (They charged her for a full service!) If I had been there, no way! A disgrace! Due to some sort of scheduling error on their part, I waited about 45 mins past my scheduled appointment time. In the meantime, they got started straight away on a walk-in. I do understand this is how it works when the particular stylist you've been scheduled with is busy, but when I made the appointment I told them that I had never been there before and didn't mind who cut my hair--so I do wonder if maybe they could have shifted me over to someone else. I was never offered any tea or coffee. I asked for a simple trim with some long layers and was specific about keeping the length relatively long while just getting rid of the straggly ends. The stylist went ahead and chopped off a large chunk in the back, which she then showed me to ask if it was ok. At that point, when a huge cut had already been made, there was really no option to tell her that it was actually a bit more than I had wanted taken off. She then started cutting VERY short feathering into the front and I immediately voiced my concern, reminding her that this was not actually what I had asked for. Of course she had to cut the other side to match--but then she declared that the length was done and she was going to cut MORE into the front. Luckily I stopped her. She gave me a quick, half blow-dry, leaving most of the hair damp so she could get back to her other client who was having colour done. I was charged 50 dollars. She did not even manage to cut the length evenly across the back, and I had two big chunks hanging down lower than the rest. It looked like a child tried to cut my hair. read more

It seems True has gotten too big for its own ego. Expect to wait 20-30 minutes after your scheduled appointment time as customers are backed up to insure stations are always full. While True may think its "fun" to sit and wait, my time is valuable and when I make an appointment I expect to be serviced at that time. I have switched to 3 different operators and even made early morning appointments but True would rather piss people off than maintain a regular customer base. read more

I cannot express how incredible of an experience my mom and I had at True Salon. She was recently diagnosed with lymphoma. We knew she was going to lose her hair but weren't sure how to handle it in the best way. That is when we found out about the consultation area and over abundance of wig selections and accessories for the head at True. We called and had her consultation with Gail, who was AMAZING. She walked my mom thru every step of what would happen to her and the best way to go about it. She was fitted for a wig and shown some adorable scarves and hats. Once the wig was in, Gail gave her a "pixie" cut which was a little less dramatic then a head shave. That way when he hair fell out if wasn't so severe. Gail then cut and styled the wig to perfection. It made my mom look beautiful (although she already was) and more importantly feel beautiful (which I think is VERY important for women going thru this evil disease). I can't say enough about all of the people we encountered, from Gail the owner, to Gail the wig consultant to the girls at the front desk (when my mom showed up on the wrong day - but they took her anyway). Cancer is not easy on ANYONE, but this salon and the people in it, are truly incredible at what they do and how they handle it. God bless them all and thank you so much! read more
