Found In The Cut highly rated, so I fired up the GPS and made my way there. First impression was they want you to be comfortable. Plenty of chairs to choose from while I waited, and there were TVs on the walls to watch while getting your haircut. Kenny was my barber, and he was awesome. Easy to talk to, and he seemed to know exactly what I was looking for before I could do my normal explanation. He got right to it, and was able to converse and cut with confidence. I have to say, Kenny is going to be my go-to barber from now on, and if you're looking for an inexpensive, professional cut in a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere, get your butt to In The Cut!

Called up, I was in the chair in 45 minutes. Nick is an artist. Meticulous, friendly, loves his work, and 100% knows what he's doing. Nick checked in on me a few times to talk about either trimming more, or cleaning something up before jumping in. That kind of communication you don't see until you walk out with a haircut or beard trim you never asked for in most places. The shop itself is a true barbershop: great music, great energy, Bruins were on, all the chairs were full with happy customers. I typed in Black Barber Shop into yelp (don't judge me), and this was one of the first that came up. I skimmed through the photos and narrowed it down to this shop and another one on the list, now it was time to do an in depth search of the barber who had the best skills with the clippers. After careful consideration I chose Black Label. For the next week or so I was glued to their Instagram page and constantly checking their yelp like a true stalker. I knew right away I wanted the guy with all the tattoos to do my cut, I searched and searched and finally someone mentioned his name LONG! What a perfect fit, because it took me a long behind time to find out who I had been obsessed with for the preceding 7 days! Finally I went to the website and booked the next available appointment. So Tuesday came I couldn't wait to get in Longs chair to get my cut! My friend came to get me and we took the very short drive over to the shop where there was surprisingly so much parking even after the storm. We went upstairs and I walked into the shop with the dorkiest look on my face grinning as I asked for Long, he was just finishing up another client and I took my seat. Immediately I noticed how immaculately clean the shop was and how quiet and respectful the other barbers were. Long came over introduced himself, shook my hand and we headed to his chair. I showed him a few pictures and he listened to every intricate detail I mentioned to achieve my desired cut! During the cut I got to know so much about him because I was giving him an impromptu interview since I had been stalking his whole life for the past week. After he was finished it was time for the reveal... if you've ever gotten a major haircut before you know the feeling of the final chair spin before you see the mirror and OMG OMG OMG I freaking LOVE MY HAIRCUT!!! I had Gino, and he was excellent. This was the best haircut I have had in a while. Fast, clean, precise, and exactly what I was looking for. You can tell Gino knows what he is doing and has been doing this for a while. The shop has a very classic barbershop feel. Good decor, comfortable setup, and a relaxed atmosphere. The music was perfect for me as well. When I was in, they had the Black Crowes with Jimmy Page playing Zeppelin, and it added to the overall vibe. My hair is WAY shorter than I wanted but I wear hats 90% of the time so I don't really give a crap. However, my beard takes FOREVER to grow and grows in super patchy so I only wanted the tiniest of patches to be trimmed down. Instead this genius shaves me to a bit more than stubble. I NEVER WANTED LENGTH OFF MY WHOLE BEARD. He literally shaved away six months of growth that I never wanted gone. So now I can look forward to months of hair and beard looking terrible, all for the low low price of $60. There is nothing worse than an octogenarian barber who has no regard for customer input and does whatever they want.
