This was my first time coming here and I tried the hot vinyasa yoga and I really enjoyed this experience. I am new so I arrived about 5 minutes early to get registered and Ashley was my instructor, she is so nice and welcoming. The whole staff is, even the students. The class was packed which was a bit overwhelming trying to figure out where to sit ( Ashley recommended sitting in the middle or back for newbies ) so that's what I did, a woman from the class was so polite to create a space for me which brought my anxiety down. If the classes weren't so crowded I would have gave 5 stars! Now this class was hot I mean 5 minutes in I was sweating and the class hadn't even begun yet. I love the fact that Ashley pays attention to her students, you can tell she really cares about what she does. It starts off slow and nice and manageable but the vinyasa flow whooped my butt, I was drenched in sweat, looking around like is anyone else dying and it made me feel better knowing I wasn't alone so I stuck it out and completed it, with taking breaks in between which was encouraged so I didn't feel bad. The class was very very very challenging but rewarding, it makes me want to keep coming back so I can get better because I barely know the poses names. I loved the juice section of the studio, it was much needed after class, I ordered the blueberry matcha which was delicious and filling ! Please try it. The woman making my drink was super cool! I have been coming to True You Hot Yoga for about 4 years. I mostly attend the Inferno Hot Pilates classes which provide a full body workout including some cardio. Frank G. is a great instructor for the IHP classes. He brings the best energy for an enjoyable and rewarding IHP class. He is motivational while not being too aggressive which helps me stay focused throughout the toughest parts in class. I also really enjoy the variety of the music playlist. read more

I love it here, like so much. I have primarily taken the Inferno Hot Pilates classes and I am obsessed! Lisa is so helpful and always has time to talk with me and answer questions I may have. Gloria's style not only kicks your ass but she is an enigma like force of energy. Nico and Frank both have a very structured and calming energy to them that helps keep me motivated throughout class. They are all wonderful instructors and no one has ever shown anything but kindness and compassion. I'm planning on taking my first yoga class here soon. My only request/suggestion, I would LOVE an IHP offered at like 7:00am-7:30am, but that's just preference for my schedule. I'll always make the 9am classes work! read more

Sad to put 3 stars, and sad to write this review. I feel it's important for consumers as well as the owner/staff to know what's going on at their establishment so they can correct it. I do enjoy most of the instructors as they are excellent at their craft! I like that I can go in, get my workout on and feel like I got my moneys worth. However, the past few months it has really gone downhill. There have been several times where people have walked in the studio with shoes on, there is a sign posted to be SILENT inside the studio and this is not the case at all. On several occasions the studio has been so packed that people had to use the walk way to lay their mats down (which was fine), but others were laying their mats OVER other peoples mats! That is completely ridiculous. And yesterday's incident is what made me finally write this post. Yesterday at the 10:30a IHP someone came in and smelled the ENTIRE hot yoga studio with the smell of weed. Everyone kind of stopped and looked around then the chatter grew louder about the smell. I don't think someone should reek of alcohol, perfume/cologne, smoke or otherwise, that's stated outside along with take of your shoes. My point is, there is no one enforcing or educating the newcomers or seasoned yogis. I love that most of the instructors will shut down the chatter during class. There are protocols for a reason, and I don't expect it to be policed or so strict that it's not fun, but c'mon man, take off the shoes and if you want to puff before class- don't come in smelling like an ashtray because we already gotta smell hot sweaty ass people, we don't want to smell your crap too! Yoga time here to me is getting to unwind and destress a and focus on my health. Hard when I'm paying over $140 a month and experiencing these annoyances. However, they just added a 6am IHP, I've never experienced any of these things at the 6am class. So hopefully this will help. read more

I've never been one to try let alone think about trying yoga, but old age has gotten the better of me. I came here by recommendation of a friend. And they joined me for the first few classes. Being a newbie to yoga, I can say that this was an intense workout and then you add the heat into the equation, and it became a crazy workout. The instructors were friendly and helpful, they seen my struggle and offered to give me tips and modifications. Afterward they have a juice bar in the front to offer some guilt-free nourishment. I only had a few of them but they were surprisingly amazing. I'm still not sure if Yoga was for me but it was a great experience while I was there. read more

Physically, I am in the best shape of my life and the other aspects of my life are coming together. I am super happy w/ my career, my kids, and the fact that I will be moving back to San Jose in a few weeks. All positive things, right? Well, emotionally I have been a wreck. It almost felt like the 2 classes I took today was meant for me. It felt as if the room were to collapse, I would have the mentality and strength to finish the class no matter what. A 10 day pass will cost you $20. If I lived in the area, I would have easily joined this facility. The staff are ALL welcoming, personable, friendly, and sweet. They made me feel like part of the family even though I was new and had no idea where I needed to go and I had no idea what I was doing either. Came super early for the inferno pilates/HIIT class so I decided to do bikram yoga and inferno pilates/HIIT afterwards. Sounded like a great idea at first but after 10 minutes of bikram yoga, I knew I was an idiot. I couldn't back out now because I don't quit especially since I said to myself that I would take these 2 classes. Being calm, relaxed, slow, and still is something I am terrible at. I am impatient and cannot sit/stand still. Anna, our bikram yoga instructor was awesome. I would drive up here at least once a month to take her class. I ain't kidding - it's that great. I must have sweated off 10lbs worth and I was dreading the next class. Everything that I do at the gym on my own is hard but when you are in a heated room, w/ a very motivating and encouraging instructor - it does wonders. It was the first time I worked out w/o gloves on. I hate the fact that I have very visible scars on my hands but I felt fine in the class. Though it was packed AF, everyone was focused on the instructor and on themselves. I was dripping w/ water at the end of this class. When I was changing, I managed to collect a deep puddle of water on the floor. I was depleted. I was exhausted. I was mentally blah. During the inferno class, I felt empowered, beautiful, and strong. These were some of the things that the instructor yelled out during class to egg us on... "Pain means you are alive!" "You can do anything for 20 seconds!" "You are worth it and that is why you are here!" "You are beautiful!" "You are strong!" "Nothing or no one can stop you!" Sometimes I think I may be a little too hard on myself. I give great advices but when it comes to my own life and personal relationships, I fall. I fall continuously. I am strong-willed but I do breakdown sometimes. I think I shed a few tears during inferno but those tears quickly became tears of triumph.. tears of courage.. tears that I have gone almost 14 days w/o sugar, went down to 112lbs, and reduced my BF% from 17% to 14%, I got an $11k salary increase, I am loving the direction my career is going, I am enrolled in summer and fall of this school year, and I have revamped my meal prepping side business up again. I stay busy because I do not know how to relax. The classes they offer here, you will be pushed and you will relax. I had to. Ugh, laying down for 30 seconds (doing nothing else) was by far hella hard but it made me accept things and made me see that no matter what happens, I have to love myself by taking care of my body. The building is nice, good size hot room and a clean environment but the people are horrible, very cliquey. They are not a friendly group especially if you are over weight. On top of all that their classes are almost the same no matter who's class you take. This place would be better if you fired everyone, including the owner and started over with staff who wanted to build there clientele instead of just keeping the same old people there. Also be careful bringing in your man, I've never seen a thirstier group of women. read more

I came home from Bikram the first day with my shorts clinging to my butt and my shirt plastered to my body and vowed to wear less clothes the next time. There are some people worth checking out (5am class) but for the most part most people are not quite fit looking and near naked and NOBODY CARES! (Except for me, I'll check out your tattoos) It's cool, really. There's a hilarious teacher who I always try to go to: "I was watching a bollywood movie where it takes three whole hours for the characters to fall in love." "If you can't do that, you may have a back problem and I will be watching you like a hawk. If you don't want me watching you like a hawk, don't do it!" Unfortunately I don't remember her name - you'll realize it's her soon enough if you are fortunate enough to take class with her. Onto the Cons: The stench, help me. You probably don't want to take your favorite yoga mat cause the smell really just permeates through and I spent a couple of days airing out my mat to get rid of the smell. You get used to it, but I'd imagine it would help with appetite suppression if you are on a diet. The move are the same every. single. time. So you can only get better. It's uphill from here. Took a class which resulted to be my LAST CLASS. I went there as a beginner to yoga and new to the place. I had my shirt on the floor along with my glasses and water bottle but they were close by and on my mat.. (if this is a rule no one mentioned it) the instructor decided it to take it upon herself to say openly that she was removing my shirt which had my glasses in it and set it in the outside bench. I was so embarrassed and I was fairly blind from not having my glasses the whole hour class! But I had to finish the class because I paid for it and did not want to interrupt everyone's hour due to this woman.. Now what if someone sat on my glasses or shirt not knowing and broke them ?? Or anything else. You should ask before touching items that are not yours or simply ask. If they are not in your way what is the problem ? read more

I love the bikram yoga and my husband likes the inferno hot pilates so we compromise and attend both with each other. The instructors are motivating and friendly. I docked two stars because three years ago, they used to have two small spaces where people can change and go, but now they use that space for storage. I asked if there was a changing space and was just shown the women's area where there's two toilet stalls and two showers. We're just expected to get naked in front of everyone. The bathrooms obviously has toilets so people take their time. The showers are wet. I am simply looking for a space to change out of my sweat soaked clothes with some privacy without having to show everyone my bare butt, but there just isn't that space unless you're willing to wait for a bathroom stall (there's only 2). Every class, there are nearly 30 women, and if we all changed in the bathroom, it would probably take an hour. So I just go change in my car, hoping there's no peeping toms out in the streets. Price of the classes have also gone up. I remember it used to only be $10 for a drop in, but now it's $16, and the bikram, instead of always being 90 minutes, have been reduced to 60, with a max of 72 mins. If you go to a class on the weekend, there will be so many people that there is barely a foot of space between yoga mats. However, there is an improvement on odor! The studio no longer smell as bad as two years ago! I remember my husband didn't want to go with me because he said the studio stinks like feet and arm pits. Now the odor is at a minimum. They've also expanded to selling more yoga gear as well as providing options on green juices for your post workout hydration. Love it. I would give them five stars if they provided a small area for women to change (not the toilet stall or out in the open) like they had three years ago. read more

I just moved to Stockton so before coming to town, I had to find a good yoga studio I can rely on during my time in pharmacy school. I came across True You and I was sold by their $20/10 days AND their $79/month for students deal. I went in for my first class this evening and I instantly knew this is the place for me! The moment I walked in, I was greeted and helped by Amanda, one of the instructors. The registration process took less than 5 minutes and she made sure to show me around right after. The only downside of this experience was the very, very strong odor in the practice room...however, I adjusted to the smell within a couple minutes so it didn't bother me during our practice. Great yoga studio! Quality classes with knowledgeable and friendly instructors. It's located in a busy area on Pacific Ave, but there's a parking lot in the back if you can't find one on the street. The first time I went, I was fortunate to meet the owner of the studio and take her hot yoga class. Loved every sweat minute of it. Since then, I've taken classes with other instructors who have their own teaching styles and I've enjoyed challenging myself in each one. Classes are held in a large main room or in a secondary smaller room. Make sure to come early to grab a good spot! Weeknight classes are often pretty full, as well as early Saturday morning. Other things that I like about the studio is the large bathroom area that has showers and cubbies. Another great feature is that they have a smoothie bar in the front room. A little pricey, but still delicious after a workout. read more

GREAT deal for new students! Pay only $20 for 10 days. How can you pass this offer up? This was the FIRST time I ever tried Yoga with my friend and LOVED it. They offer two classes everyday and both are usually packed. The instructor we had was great! Welcomed new members, constantly watched over each person to see that they were doing the positions correctly, and suppperrr friendly! The times I went, they always told great stories that were really motivational and encouraging during the session. If it's your first time doing Bikram, the teacher will usually suggest you stay in the back just in case you need to exit the room to take breaks because it's too hot. But the instructor will say that the goal of today's session is to make it ALL the way through without leaving. Push on!! If you're new to yoga/bikram yoga like I was, here are some tips: 1) BRING LOTS OF WATER Bring at LEAST two bottles of water here. When you exit Bikram Yoga, it literally feels like you jumped into a hot tub with all your clothes on...but you actually didn't and it's because you've sweat out probably all the water in your body. You will always get water breaks to replenish your lost fluids so drink up! 2) BRING TWO TOWELS & A MAT Bring one huge towel to put under your mat to soak up the sweat you'll for SURE be dripping onto and bring another smaller one to wipe your face when you get breaks. If you don't have a yoga mat/towels, you can rent them there. :) 3) LESS IS BETTER Don't go into this place wearing sweats and a long sleeve t-shirt. Bikram Yoga is known for it's ridiculous temperatures for a REASON. Most people here just come in a sports bra and shorts/spandex. You WILL get ridiculously not, so don't wear too much. Don't be self-conscious either! Nobody cares as much as you think they do. 4) DON'T EAT TOO MUCH If you eat too much before coming, you'll probably feel ridiculously nauseous during the session. Because it's so hot and you're losing so much fluid, you will start to feel the signs of dehydration such as lightheadedness, dizziness, and nausea. But be sure to not come here starving either, that's bad too! 5) EARLIER CLASS This is specific to this Bikram location. COME TO THE EARLIER CLASS IF YOU CAN. And this is the BEST advice I could give about this location. If you come to the later class, it will smell ABSOLUTELY terrible because you have the remnants of smells from the previous class. No matter what, yes, it's going to smell. But it'll smell way worse if you come to the second one. Try to avoid it by coming to the earlier one! Overall, GREAT place to do Bikram Yoga. This is best-designed bikram yoga studio I've attended. The entryway is bright and welcoming, the practice room is kept at a very even temperature (not scorching hot, pleasantly humid), and the ceiling fans circulate the air - never saw that before at any other studio! Keeps any funky smells from developing in the room. The practice room is very big, there are plenty of cubbies to stash your stuff, and the bathroom is nice and clean. The instruction was easy to follow for all levels; the first-timer in our class did a great first session which is always nice to see, and the experts rocked it. Bikram Yoga is wonderful for those of us crammed into an office chair every day and/or those who experience physical pain or tension in your back or knees especially. You will be giving your entire body a nice long stretch, cardio, and you can burn 700+ calories per session. Try it! And then go to Gian's Deli afterward and reward yourself with the best sandwich Stockton has to offer ;) read more

Thank you so much for your kindness and hospitality :D ! My cousin took me to Bikram Yoga Stockton. It used to be her regular studio before she left for school. She loved it. And I could see why! Oh gosh, it's just so nice! The studio is SUPER spacious. I LOVED THE CALM LIGHTING IN THE HALLWAY/WALKWAY :D The women's locker room is huge. The bathrooms were clean. There's some benches in the middle and a bunch of cubbies for you to store your things, both inside the locker room and through the walkway into the locker room. The vanity area has a nice, big mirror. There's also a full-body mirror, too! They even provide you with a blowdryer! :D YAY! I really appreciated it because my hair gets ridiculously soaked after class. Horray for convenience! Then there's the benches outside of the practice room. It's a small detail, but it's so nice to have a place to sit and cool off after class! The actual practice room is elongated. You can fit three rows, but I couldn't figure out how many people could fit in each row. It was spacious, so I felt like the room was huge. There's a few ceiling fans to keep the air circulating. There's cushioned carpet, which felt really nice against my feet. It definitely helped to support my posture during the standing series. No slips! The staff was friendly! My instructor was good with her instructions and she seemed enthusiastic. There was a lot of positive energy! "GET YOUR ASS TO YOGA CLASS!" was the logo on one of the shirts I saw there. LOVEEED IT! I can't say enough wonderful things about Bikram Yoga Stockton. Each staff member is dedicated to your physical and emotional well-being and their enthusiam for yoga is contagious. The studio is always clean and neat, with a great variety of yoga products, food, drink and clothing for purchase. Helena's classes always leave you feeling so strong and positive. She exudes such a powerful energy, even on your most difficult days, you find the strength to get through the class. She encourages the class with stories from her own day and uplifiting sayings. Kaci is an oustanding teacher who magically balances an upbeat energy with a quiet calm strength. Kaci points out small changes that make each pose easier (when you're struggling) or more powerful (when you've advanced a little). She also notices changes in your practice you don't notice yourself. Her classes always finish with everyone's faces plastered with smiles of accomplishment. I've been practicing the Bikram style of yoga since 2003. I've practiced in 3 countries, a half dozen states, and in studios up and down California. How unbelievably lucky I feel that the best Bikram studio I've EVER been to has opened in nearby Stockton (I live in Modesto). This studio is exceptional on many fronts: General space/design: This is a clean and beautiful space to visit. Separate and roomy dressing rooms for men and women, with multiple showers/toilets, and cubbies for personal belongings. Open and airy lobby housing a nice selection of clothing, mats, books, and cold beverages. Studio: In terms of size, layout, smell (!), natural light, ventilation, and heat/humidity control, there is simply no beating Bikram Stockton. Really, it is a pleasure to suffer intense heat and muscle torture here. Staff: All the instructors I've experienced are friendly, knowledgeable, and encouraging. They make the yoga about you, not about them. The Practitioners: I'm always amazed at how friendly people are. New people are welcomed and encouraged by their fellow yogis just as enthusiastically as by the staff. After driving by this place for years, I finally decided to give it a try last weekend. I still don't know how I feel about regularly doing this type of yoga, but my experience here was pretty good! They recommended that I come 30 minutes prior to class so I did and found parking right in the front of the studio, but there are some more around the back as well. Since I'm a student, I got the discount so one drop-in session for me was $11 with a $2 fee to rent a mat. They people who work there are all super nice and tries really well to make you feel comfortable. If this is your first time, be prepared! Drink lots of water throughout the day, I failed to do so and ended up getting SUPER light headed during the 90 minute session in a nearly 100 degree room. However, they don't pressure you or anything so if you start feeling sick, just quietly sit down until you regain your senses. It would be ideal to wear as little clothes as possible because you're going to be sweating A LOT. Most men come shirtless in a pair of swim trunks or basketball shorts and women are usually dressed in a tank and shorts or a sports bra. Don't forget to bring a beach towel to cover your mat with if you're going to rent them! The second time I went, I made sure I drank lots of water during the day and took the 6:30pm session and felt fine!! They also sell water bottles, coconut water, yoga clothes, and mats as well. You can leave your stuff in a cubbie in the changing rooms where you can also shower! I didn't feel really bad about leaving my stuff in there because I've noticed that they lock the doors while class is in session! The instructors are friendly and encouraging, the push you to do you best without seeming too over-bearing. Personally, I hate the heat but the feeling after the session is AMAZING, I felt so accomplished! I've also over heard a conversation of a client and the owner in the locker room and she was explaining that this Bikram yoga place is one of the cleanest you'll find around because they clean every day and just recently did a massive cleaning project. I have been to several Bikram studio's up and down the coast of California, and the Stockton studio is by far the best. First, everytime I go the studio is super clean, there are no funky odors in the studio (and believe me Bikram yoga can get stinky!) Actually the studio sort of smells like Dr. Bronners peppermint soap which is so yummy. Second, Hot as it should be. The heating system is amazing and really helps you be able to get further into postures. It is the perfect combination of heat, not too dry and not too humid. Third, I have never taken bad class there. It seems that every teacher in Stockton has a great attitude, a really flowing dialogue and a connection with the students. I can feel the community in that studio and it is very warm and supportive. Fourth, some might say that Bikram yoga is expensive, but some studios have a Karma Yogi program (the studio I go to in downtown Los Angeles does) where you work in exchange for free yoga. I was informed that Stockton does have this available, and it is sooo worth it. I want to thank Helena, the owner, as well. The first time I went to this place was about 4 years ago. Drawn in by their deal at that time, I think it was $20 for 10 sessions, or something of the like. I was thinking, hey it's pretty cheap for each session, so I just went on a whim and bought it with my 2 good friends. At that time, just a recent high school graduate, we wanted to get fit for college and saw this as an opportunity to do so. The instructors were really nice and supportive. As someone who wasn't very limber, the instructors pushed me during the stretches but didn't overdo it. They knew when to push, and when I've reached my limit. Came here on Labor Day morning to try out the high intensity Pilates class they had. The ladies who work here are extremely friendly, but as far as showing me where to go, setting me up or explain amenities (being that it was my first time) it lacked. I had to ask numerous questions. Once the class before let out, everyone is rushing in to get a spot, kind of annoying because people aren't quite when people are trying to relax after their yoga session. The room has a strong odor! I understand people sweat, but the odor was stronger than any studio I've been in. The class itself was wonderful! I really enjoyed the instructor and the way she explained the exercises and proved alternative ways to do it for the newbies. My body is so sore, but a good sore and I want to go back! They do play music, so if you're looking for something relaxing this is not the class. This place is amazing!! My friend and I arrived here because of my "30 Before 30" mission.. Walking in you initially get slapped with a little heat... This scared me lol!!! I rented a towel ($3) and my friend rented a mat ($2)... Long story short, when they say to drink A LOT of water before you go, please follow the instructions and do so!! While my friend left 30 minutes before the class ended to hurl, I was able to hang on for 15 minutes more.. So out of a 90 minute class I was able to do 75 without the proper beforehand rituals (I will NEVER not do them again)!! Our instructor was a woman named Tre and she was so cool!! I really recommend taking her as she made us newbies feel very comfortable while keeping pace with the OG's! I will definitely come back here again!! read more

I love my yogi community at the True You Hot Yoga studio. I've been a member here since 2011 and the studio continues to evolve to meet the needs of its members. There are a variety of classes offered to meet a wide range of needs - bikram method, vinyasa, hot Pilates, and yin yoga. Classes are offered throughout the day which is helpful. The instructors are knowledgeable, helpful and just plain nice. Oh and the juice/smoothie bar is a great addition to the studio. If you are looking for yoga in Stockton this is a great place to practice. read more

Today was my first time doing hot yoga. The studio is very clean and our teacher AMANDA is super sweet. She made my boyfriend and I feel very welcomed. We had smoothies at their bar after class which were also quite good. I think my only complaint is that I wish I had started sooner. =) read more

Love this studio! The instructors are great. They speak to you thoughout the workout and push you along (especially new comers) ! If your lucky, you'll get an instructor who will open up the windows and vents toward the end of class (which is MUCH needed by that time) They offer $9 drop in's which is decently priced. I've been to other studios where their drops in's are as much as $12-15 for much smaller rooms. read more

I was last here over a year ago (a mix of COVID, work schedule, and now moving) but I miss it so much. The environment was so amazing. I was new and not very good, but the other people and instructors were so welcoming and friendly. I never felt judged which is a must for me. This was the first place I started doing yoga, more specifically bikram and they set the bar so high. I have since moved away and have yet to find a studio with the same amount of love and dedication put into it. I miss this studio and the instructors here. I can't wait to visit family back home, and have the opportunity to drop in and take classes while I'm there. read more

Have only been going here for over a month but this place has changed my life! The whole atmosphere, the people, the teachers it's just great! You leave feeling like a better person and feeling positive and just having a different outlook on life!
