    Getting ready for IHP
    Vanessa B.

Sad to put 3 stars, and sad to write this review. I feel it's important for consumers as well as the owner/staff to know what's going on at their establishment so they can correct it. I do enjoy most of the instructors as they are excellent at their craft! I like that I can go in, get my workout on and feel like I got my moneys worth. However, the past few months it has really gone downhill. There have been several times where people have walked in the studio with shoes on, there is a sign posted to be SILENT inside the studio and this is not the case at all. On several occasions the studio has been so packed that people had to use the walk way to lay their mats down (which was fine), but others were laying their mats OVER other peoples mats! That is completely ridiculous. And yesterday's incident is what made me finally write this post. Yesterday at the 10:30a IHP someone came in and smelled the ENTIRE hot yoga studio with the smell of weed. Everyone kind of stopped and looked around then the chatter grew louder about the smell. I don't think someone should reek of alcohol, perfume/cologne, smoke or otherwise, that's stated outside along with take of your shoes. My point is, there is no one enforcing or educating the newcomers or seasoned yogis. I love that most of the instructors will shut down the chatter during class. There are protocols for a reason, and I don't expect it to be policed or so strict that it's not fun, but c'mon man, take off the shoes and if you want to puff before class- don't come in smelling like an ashtray because we already gotta smell hot sweaty ass people, we don't want to smell your crap too! Yoga time here to me is getting to unwind and destress a and focus on my health. Hard when I'm paying over $140 a month and experiencing these annoyances. However, they just added a 6am IHP, I've never experienced any of these things at the 6am class. So hopefully this will help.

True Juice juice bar. Order a fresh smoothie or juice before class and it is ready afterward! (Pre-covid photo)

Great teachers, amazing hot classes, and the community vibe is so unique. The hot room is very big so there's plenty of space for students.

I've never been one to try let alone think about trying yoga, but old age has gotten the better of me. I came here by recommendation of a friend. And they joined me for the first few classes. Being a newbie to yoga, I can say that this was an intense workout and then you add the heat into the equation, and it became a crazy workout. The instructors were friendly and helpful, they seen my struggle and offered to give me tips and modifications. Afterward they have a juice bar in the front to offer some guilt-free nourishment. I only had a few of them but they were surprisingly amazing. I'm still not sure if Yoga was for me but it was a great experience while I was there.

Quick and painless. After work fun on Monday and Wednesday. Inferno Hot Pilates, FTW!!!

Physically, I am in the best shape of my life and the other aspects of my life are coming together. I am super happy w/ my career, my kids, and the fact that I will be moving back to San Jose in a few weeks. All positive things, right? Well, emotionally I have been a wreck. It almost felt like the 2 classes I took today was meant for me. It felt as if the room were to collapse, I would have the mentality and strength to finish the class no matter what. A 10 day pass will cost you $20. If I lived in the area, I would have easily joined this facility. The staff are ALL welcoming, personable, friendly, and sweet. They made me feel like part of the family even though I was new and had no idea where I needed to go and I had no idea what I was doing either. Came super early for the inferno pilates/HIIT class so I decided to do bikram yoga and inferno pilates/HIIT afterwards. Sounded like a great idea at first but after 10 minutes of bikram yoga, I knew I was an idiot. I couldn't back out now because I don't quit especially since I said to myself that I would take these 2 classes. Being calm, relaxed, slow, and still is something I am terrible at. I am impatient and cannot sit/stand still. Anna, our bikram yoga instructor was awesome. I would drive up here at least once a month to take her class. I ain't kidding - it's that great. I must have sweated off 10lbs worth and I was dreading the next class. Everything that I do at the gym on my own is hard but when you are in a heated room, w/ a very motivating and encouraging instructor - it does wonders. It was the first time I worked out w/o gloves on. I hate the fact that I have very visible scars on my hands but I felt fine in the class. Though it was packed AF, everyone was focused on the instructor and on themselves. I was dripping w/ water at the end of this class. When I was changing, I managed to collect a deep puddle of water on the floor. I was depleted. I was exhausted. I was mentally blah. During the inferno class, I felt empowered, beautiful, and strong. These were some of the things that the instructor yelled out during class to egg us on... "Pain means you are alive!" "You can do anything for 20 seconds!" "You are worth it and that is why you are here!" "You are beautiful!" "You are strong!" "Nothing or no one can stop you!" Sometimes I think I may be a little too hard on myself. I give great advices but when it comes to my own life and personal relationships, I fall. I fall continuously. I am strong-willed but I do breakdown sometimes. I think I shed a few tears during inferno but those tears quickly became tears of triumph.. tears of courage.. tears that I have gone almost 14 days w/o sugar, went down to 112lbs, and reduced my BF% from 17% to 14%, I got an $11k salary increase, I am loving the direction my career is going, I am enrolled in summer and fall of this school year, and I have revamped my meal prepping side business up again. I stay busy because I do not know how to relax. The classes they offer here, you will be pushed and you will relax. I had to. Ugh, laying down for 30 seconds (doing nothing else) was by far hella hard but it made me accept things and made me see that no matter what happens, I have to love myself by taking care of my body. I eat good and healthy and workout to feel good and healthy. Thanks, True You Yoga. I heart this place so much!

My instructor, Sara, was absolutely amazing. She was incredibly welcoming and made sure I never felt out of place as a first-timer. Her energy, guidance, and encouragement truly made the experience special. The studio itself was spotless, so clean and thoughtfully maintained. The essential oil scents throughout the space were absolutely fabulous and added such a calming, elevated touch to the entire experience. The cleansing and overall atmosphere were just beautiful. I'm also so proud of Taylor for the incredible studio she has continued to build, it truly shows in every detail!!! 10/10, I will definitely be coming back. Whether you're brand new like me or an experienced yogi, I would highly recommend Shine Yoga Studios to anyone looking for an amazing, welcoming, and uplifting experience.

I am currently on my journey to finding a yoga studio to call home and after my first yoga class…read morehere I think I might have found it. I am getting more and more into hot yoga and I tried vinyasa yoga at an amazing studio and I loved it but being a beginner I wanted something more slower paced so I can gradually get back up to a more advanced class. This studio provides that option for me with the variety of hot yoga classes they offer from beginners to advanced. What I like about the feel good hot yoga is it is beginner friendly but still provides that challenge so it is so worth it for somebody like me who wants to focus on flexibility and weight loss. I came about 30 minutes earlier to get registered and get a feel of the place and was so cute, the woman at the front desk was very welcoming, my instructor was so kind and just provided a fun friendly atmosphere, she didn't try to push me too far just focus on going with my limits. It prompt me to do more research on the place and the owner seems amazing! I am taking advantage of the 3 for $33.00 deal and i will make a decision on if this studio will be my home or not but it's feeling like yes!

This happened last year, but I want to share my experience here …read more. Good classes overall, and Tanon is an excellent instructor. However, canceling my membership was a frustrating experience. I had to give a one-month notice, go in person to submit a form, and still got charged for months after requesting cancellation in June--it wasn't processed until October. Communication was poor. Marilyn stopped responding once I asked to cancel, and Silvia never returned calls. Great instructors, but the management and cancellation process need serious improvement.

I walked in this afternoon, after years of wondering about the plant, spa and yoga combo and I was greatly disappointed by the negative energy of the fellow who works there, no smiling or greeting, just how can I help you in a reluctant manner, than he says if you want plants or a spa I can't help you. No customer service, no invitation to learn more about the services. He treated me this way in front two other customers who wouldn't look me in the eye, smile or correct his bad behavior. It was plainly obvious, they didn't me to join them, and that is okay too. However, to my melanated queens who practice yoga, let me know where there is it a studio that welcomes all members of the community. Until then, it's back to Jessamyn Stanley and my black girl yoga YouTube channels! Let's change the energy. Peace.
