I am currently on my journey to finding a yoga studio to call home and after my first yoga class here I think I might have found it. I am getting more and more into hot yoga and I tried vinyasa yoga at an amazing studio and I loved it but being a beginner I wanted something more slower paced so I can gradually get back up to a more advanced class. This studio provides that option for me with the variety of hot yoga classes they offer from beginners to advanced. What I like about the feel good hot yoga is it is beginner friendly but still provides that challenge so it is so worth it for somebody like me who wants to focus on flexibility and weight loss. I came about 30 minutes earlier to get registered and get a feel of the place and was so cute, the woman at the front desk was very welcoming, my instructor was so kind and just provided a fun friendly atmosphere, she didn't try to push me too far just focus on going with my limits. It prompt me to do more research on the place and the owner seems amazing! I am taking advantage of the 3 for $33.00 deal and i will make a decision on if this studio will be my home or not but it's feeling like yes! read more

Shine is an amazing yoga,barre and cycle studio! They offer a wide variety of different classes and the music play during the class is always so good. As someone who doesn't practice yoga often but is comfortable in the gym, the classes are very manageable and teachers instruct in a way you're able to follow even with little to no prior knowledge. It definitely is VERY challenging at times but I always leave with my energy refreshed and a good workout. The staff is always so warm and welcoming and so is the space. I feel like I should gate-keep this gem, NGL. I'm a 45 year old female who fell off her fitness wagon during pandemic and has had an incredibly hard time getting back on it since. I tried this yoga studio instead of reverting back to InShape City primarily because I need structure and, LBH... gyms are dirty and gross. I found what I needed. Shine is clean and warm and welcoming. I LOVE, love, LOVE their front staff ladies. They are the cutest and so sweet. The instructors get you in the mood to put time in for yourself. I LOVE Kaili and her spin class!! So much energy and encouragement. I love the range of ages and shapes of all of the women and men that I have come across there too. As someone that has been coming here for a couple of years, here is my advice as someone introverted, neurodivergent (adhd/autism), and depression/anxiety. This is why this studio has the reputation that it has. Theres nothing more embarrassing than an instructor that acts like a mean girl at her grown age. A lot of cliquiness, and attitude from the instructor if youre struggling with a workout or if youre just someone thats introverted and quiet. Other instructors push you and correct you, say hi when you get there, and dont make you feel invisible. They correct you and talk to you with kindness and compassion. It makes us feel good especially if youre struggling mentally, because a simple hello makes us feel well. They even offer other ways to do the workout if your body is struggling. A lot of people with anxiety are already struggling from just simply going to class, so a kind and welcoming instructor is extremely important. If you want to attend here, please go to Josi, Jade, and Fernanda. They are both extremely kind and push you so hard with compassion and empathy. Other instructors however are not like Josi or Jade for example. Sarah however just yells at you in front of everyone in a rude way. Doesnt say hi-- only to the girls she likes. I have been coming here since 2023, and its sad that the downfall will always be the mean girl attitude, and the obvious exclusion of introverted, neurodivergent, and even poc. If you dont fit into their "aesthetic," they wont even bother with you. I used to be a member with them, but once i changed to classpass because it was better for me financially, and i loved this place so much so I wanted to keep going, I noticed a change in her behavior. The attitudes, obvious exclusion, and full on ignoring me as well just made me feel worse mentally. Not only that, Sarah lied to me saying that they can "refuse service" if you dont show up 5 mins before the start time of your class. So if you show up at 7:25 for a 7:30 class, she can "refuse service" simply just because. She then told me that's their "policy" and all that with an attitude. However, that is not true. There is a difference between their og policy (which i know of) of "if you dont arrive 5 mins before the start time, they can give your spot away to a walk in or someone on the waitlist," vs "we will refuse service if you dont show up 5 mins before." No where does it say they can "refuse service." She lied. I was only confused because I used to attend Cyclebar, and they would let you into the class as long as you werent past 5 mins. Since I never showed up late at Shine, I asked if that was a policy of theirs as well. Thats when I was told all of that and given attitude. If youre going to work with people, learn how to act and handle people. Learn to be kind, and dont purposely exclude someone or make them feel less than simply because you dont like them due to your own personal feelings. I never talked when going here, I just wanted to workout and distract my mind from my own mental health problems. I would say hi to Josi, because she was always welcoming and complimented you after the workout class, etc etc. She was always so nice to me, and she has no idea how much her kindness meant to me when I struggled to even live another day. I kept to myself all the time, so it's unfortunate that you cant even keep to yourself and mind your business without a mean girl judging you and disliking you because of it. It just makes you feel worse, because if youre always struggling to wake up another day, and an instructor excludes you or acts cold with you, it makes you feel worse about yourself. I had times where instead of feeling happy and relaxed after class, I felt upset, sad, and feel terrible about myself from being ignored, etc. A lot of front desk people wont even talk to you, but will say hi to the lady that arrived behind you. So unfortunately.. this place is just simply not the place for those of us that are not "like them." read more

I recently started attending hot yoga here. It's something I have not done before so it was definitely intimidating. However I had a great experience with the staff and instructor here. They are welcoming and don't make you feel less adequate for being a beginner or simply not being able to do some of the exercises. They provide small face towels to wipe down your face. You bring your own mat or you can rent one for $5 a day. They give you a cold eucalyptus face towel at the end and it's so refreshing and relaxing. The reason why I give one star off is because the classes can a bit crowded and I wish they would allow more class times and few people in a class. Overall I highly recommend if you're interested in getting into hot yoga! read more

I decided to try this studio after hearing a lot of conversation about it and receiving mixed feedback. Unfortunately, my experience wasn't positive and aligned with many of the concerns I had been warned about. While the workout itself was good, the overall environment was disappointing. The atmosphere felt unwelcoming and cliquish, and staff interactions were dismissive. Questions weren't acknowledged and no guidance was offered. As someone who drove in from Woodbridge (over 25 minutes) to give it a fair chance, I left feeling uncomfortable and frustrated that I spent money on an experience that felt like a disservice. There are many studios in the area that provide both an excellent workout and a supportive, friendly community. Recently signed up for membership here and I loved it so far. I moved from San Jose to Stockton last year with a goal to find a new studio for my daily practice. Shine has it all compared to the studios I went in the Bay Area. It's clean, inspired, and welcomed! Most instructors are great and sweet. Free water machine. Clean bathroom with female essentials provided. Price is decent. I mean I pay around the same or more at the ones in the Bay Area, and I go 5 times/week so this is pretty much the best for my bucks. I have ALWAYS hated working out. I've done Orange Theory, In Shape, Planet Fitness, you name it. Working out has always been a chore until I joined Shine 2 years ago!!! This is the most consistent I've been with working out in my entire LIFE and is a part of my lifestyle now! Tina's classes are my addiction. This is my first experience with shine. I saw a booth at the Lodi stock market and they had a special: $30 for 30 days. I signed up but when I went to pay their card reader wasn't working. They told me to write my email address down and I will get an email so I can still get that deal. A couple of weeks went by and I received no email. I went into the studio and explained to her what was going on and she signed me up, but for two weeks for $30, (which is the standard intro offer that they advertise). I was in no mood to explain the situation again and reiterate that the offer was for 30 days, that's the only reason I took away one star. The time that I went in the studio there were no classes and there was no one there but one woman. She was very patient and answered every single question that we (I had my husband and daughter with me) asked her, she did not make me feel as if she was rushing us out of there, in fact it was the complete opposite. She gave us a tour and explained in great detail all the classes. I've taken two classes so far which both have been Phenomena Flow, and let me tell you, it is absolutely amazing! Especially the cold hand towel with essential oils on it! So soothing after a good workout!! I loved my time at my prior yoga studio; True you yoga, but it was too far for a morning class since I work. Shine is right down the street from my house and the environment is EXTREMELY peaceful and it smells so clean for a hot yoga setting. The staff has been pleasant and the trainers knowledgeable. I also signed up my husband for an intro class because we wants to try the cycle class together, even though I don't like cycling; it's so hard!
