Both services recommended removing all of the trees as they were too close to the house and all had branches hanging over or endangering the home. We chose Orleans Co Tree Service because they are not landscapers that also do trees, they are a liscensed, insured, dedicated tree service with certified arborists. Their pricing was excellent, and the bid was total, any taxes, fees,etc, were included in the price. Additionally, they took away all the wood, cleaned up any limbs and leaves, and ground all of the stumps. They had 10 trees down, including 125' pine, a 59+ foot rotting maple, and the 4 dangerous to cut dead trees, stumps ground, and detritus cleaned up, in 5 hours. Amazing!

Mark Tuttle came out and met with us, provided an estimate, explained exactly what he would do, and told us he would find a way to fit us in but that he was slammed (we appreciated the honesty!!). Since it wasn't really an emergency we told him to call us when he had time after the holidays. In mid-January, he called us with an opening, came with his bucket truck and two helpers, and carefully and professionally took down our trees (as requested), cleaned up, moved the wood away from main areas for us, and made sure we sere comfortable with what was done. His helpers were also professional and friendly, and the team even helped me with something related, answered my questions, and is back in our neighborhood today because our neighbors saw the job they did and hired him too! Above and beyond, great value, high customer service.

From the initial…read moreconsultation with Rob, to Mike (the owner's) follow up gave my husband and I a great feeling that we had chosen the right company for our needs. Once the estimate was received and approved, the actual work they did was delivered safely, efficiently and professionally. They showed up and worked in some seriously hot weather and through it all they were aware of each other's work and conducted their own efforts with others and their own safety in mind. Just to clarify, our circumstance was a bit different than most homeowners as our tree was a monster. It had grown to an immense size and was situated next to our historic home. We estimated it to be approx 300 years old! We believe due to its age and previous damage wrought by storms and insects, it had lived out its useful life. We debated having it removed ealier, then thought possibly it could stand a bit longer. We were wrong!! Its downfall started initially with the collapse a massive branch (which the crane operator weighed in at 9000+ lbs when removed). It was followed the next day by the entire canopy falling off! We quickly sought information from friends and the internet on a reputable, licensed and insured firm that could handle this unique situation. We wished to have it rectified as quickly as possible to ensure no risk to life or property remained as a result of the tree's failure. Rob and Mike came out and surveyed the scene and got the ball rolling. We received a very reasonable price for removal and the teams showed up the following Monday bright and early. They brought along a team of six to seven guys, a chipper, skid, crane, trailer and grappling truck. Additionally, they brought in a huge crane to lift and situate the pieces as each was cut. The aerial guy went up into the remaining tree and systematically removed each branch (which were the size of trees themselves) cutting and dropping each huge piece with precision. The skid operators worked in tandem to move the piles of debris to a location on the lawn where the ground crews could work their magic. He then carefully tied off each remaining branch suspended in the air, cut the pieces into manageable parts and signaled the crane operator to lift and drop the pieces where the crew on the ground could cut them up and where possible chipped the brush. The team on the ground then cut up the pieces further and located them where the grappler could lift and remove them. Each step was carefully executed and at no time was I witness to anything that made me fearful of risk to life or property. The team, a group of about six folks, came out the first day and worked from 8:00AM to 6:00PM. The second day a team of five came out to finish the work. All this done in the heat and with the threat of rain. In the end the yard looks remarkable and the next step will be to get them out again in the fall to grind the stump! Once they got all the segments down, they dropped the trunk, which was 8' by 6 f' at the base and measured probably close to 50 feet. They again had to cut the tree to sizes that were then loaded onto the trucks for removal. It took them two days to complete the work and at the end of the second day they came through, finished removing the debris and leveled the area where the tree had fallen and the trucks had gained access. Going forward they are the only game in town for us. We will utilize them for all our heavy lifting and landscape work! The plans were mindful of the well-being of the tree in question, a large Spanish Willow Oak which is mature and healthy but with a tendency to drop heavy limbs. Moreover, even though the trees were in my back yard, they left my property looking better overall than when they started, blowing leaves and tidying debris front and back. Of course, the equipment left track marks in the wet yard. That is to be expected. I sprinkled a bag of clover seed in the tracks which was all that was needed to address it. It looks lovely, and now there is clover for the pollinators. And, did I mention their price was significantly lower than other quotes? I had a couple 35-40 ft. tall trees that were between my house and my neighbor's house and the…read moreroots were becoming a problem. The crew showed up at the time promised and took out the trees, ground the stumps, and ground the larger roots, cleaning as they worked. They had top notch equipment / machinery and a large enough crew to get the job done quickly (~90 minutes). When they were done, other than the disturbed soil in the work area, everything looked better than it did before because of the bonus leaf blowing of the yard and driveway. The final price was as quoted and more than fair in my opinion. I received a follow up call to ensure that I was satisfied with the work.
