I paid over $900 for lawn service for the season. My last application was yesterday, September 10, 2025. I do not understand how my lawn being treated every single month, I still have this many weeds in my yard. I was then told on my last treatment yesterday that they really shouldn't spray the weeds because it would kill the grass seed that they put down when they did the overseed and aeration last month. I had two service contracts on two investment properties. I was paying for full yard treatment on both but only received treatment on one third of the yard. When I called to inquire, they didn't care. Made no effort to remedy, no effort to keep me as a customer. I did have to call multiple times to cancel the two service contracts and get my money back. After a year of servicing only one-third of the yard even though I was paying for the full yard something should have been done to keep me as a customer. Techs are not reachable. Not trustworthy. True-green takes care of my lawn thru my HOA. They have been doing this for the last six or seven years the applicator when he gets to my backyard has to make a left-hand turn. I have an open patio with a white decorative column post at that corner also a large bed of hostas. I've had to repaint that post three times in the last five years due to the applicator dragging 60 feet of his hose across that post using it for a pivot point ,they did it again this year I tried to call the office no answer so I called corporate gave them the information. They basically acted like they didn't care, but took the information. They said they would pass it on. I looked up this company reviews on yelp and they have a blistering one star out of five. if I was hiring this company directly, I would tell them goodbye, but since they are hired by my HOA, I don't have a choice. read more

Product Quality: I paid for TruMaintenance Lawn Plan & Mosquito Defense. At the conclusion of my six month package, there are quite possibly more weeds in my yard than when we started. I stopped treating my yard myself, assuming the money I was spending on TruGreen would be better than what I could do myself. I spent the summer watching the specialists on my security cameras doing the bare minimum, squirting a few dandelions, scrolling on their phone, then leaving. Additionally, it is impossible to be outside my home in the evening and has been since the very first treatment. Swarms of mosquitoes (truly, swarms), come out at night. Customer Service: Things started off on the wrong foot when they put my contact information in wrong and I couldn't get it changed for two months, despite numerous calls, e-mails, and on-line chats. For the past month, I have been trying to cancel my service and receive a refund (TruGreen says they have a Satisfaction Guarantee). I call and am told someone will call me back - they never do. Even when calling the local number, I am transferred to the 1-800 call center. I will never again be wooed by "discounts" or "special rates" and will shift back to a more expensive, truly local company. I would strongly discourage anyone from using TruGreen. read more

Have been using Trugreen for a few months now and am very dissatisfied with the work they did. The techs would be at my home for less than 5 minutes each time and barely spray anything at all. I watched once out of curiosity and the technician sprayed a total of 5 pumps for both the front and back yard. Now my lawn isn't massive but surely that is not enough product to properly treat. When I mentioned to a tech that is had been months and i saw zero difference at all he urged me to give is 10-14 days before the weeds started dying which again it has been 5 months since i started this. So today i went to cancel my services stating i was very unhappy with the job they have been doing. The costumer service tech messaged me back 1 thing which was Ok i have cancelled your service have I resolved your concerns today? A little odd that she never asked what i was dissatisfied about or why but hey i got what i needed now lets see if she actually cancelled it or if someone shows up next month seeing as i never got a confirmation email or txt about cancellation. read more

These guys are too stupid to read a no soliciting sign, would you really trust them to use chemicals on your lawn? They rang our doorbell in the middle of dinner and got all of the dogs riled up, just so I could point out this is a no soliciting neighborhood and tell them to not come back. Also, for the record, my lawn is completely green, it's professionally treated, and this is too late in the year to begin a treatment program. We hired TruGreen back in March to come out and treat our lawn every 4-6 weeks. They consistently push back the treatment date, spacing out treatments by 8-10 weeks. We've had to call any time that we are wanting to be served, or else they will continue to push the treatment back. Recently we received a call from TruGreen stating that we have an insect destroying the trees on our property and they wanted to sell as a service treatment.....we have no trees anywhere on our property. When I told them this, they said "do you have shrubs?" I told them yes, and then they proceeded to tell me that these insects were destroying our shrubs. Honestly, I don't trust them to actually do the work we were promised. read more

we have used their services for ten years, unfortunately we are FINALLY done with them. Our yard looks terrible, full of weeds and have asked repeatedly about the weeds, we get another lame excuse. I was told that anytime we don't see results, they would come back and respray. Today the lady said because we don't treat the yard every 4 weeks, they don't honor a respray, completely contradictory to what i was told this spring. I called and asked that they not fertilize, but only treat the weeds, they said no problem. sure enough they fertilized the yard along with treating weeds. I would highly recommend avoiding this company unless you want to pay a lot of money for services that aren't performed. Our technicians would typically only do small sections of our yard when they actually completed the service. Don't even bother calling them. As a new customer, I was promised services within 7-10 days. On day 10, the tech arrived and apparently both of her backpack blowers were broken. She told me she'd reschedule within a couple of days, which didn't happen. I called to follow up and was again promised service within a couple of days, which again didn't happen. I hired trugreen because I had weeds in my front and side yard. They came out and automatically sprayed my yard with Grub spray (I don't have a single grub) and so called weed killer. I worked for this company for 2 years when it was called Chem lawn( before they changed names and the company was great). Today I can honestly say they are TERRIBLE now. My yard now has twice the weeds that it did. STAY AWAY from this company and hire a REAL lawn service. read more

I wanted to start lawn care services and contacted trugreen. Two months later, I have not been able to get set up in their system. I talked with Rick, Adam, Mandy, Tyrone and a couple of others. Each time, I was assured that service had been set up for me. Yet, when I called back to see when service would start, I was NOT in their system. The final straw was when someone named Pete sent me a text saying he knew I'd talked with people at the call center, and offered to get me a fresh quote. I talked with Pete, who looked into the situation, then said he needed to talk with a manager and would call me back the next day. Never heard from him again. So, I've signed with Lawn Pride, which, by the way, had a better price. We tried using this service, but it didn't work. We paid for a year in advance, but ended up with nothing but weeds growing. I called to cancel and the representative tried to blame me for not contacting them about the weeds. That's not the way this should work: I paid for a service they should perform the service. Even a 30-second drive-by of my lawn at any time in last three months would have shown anyone paying attention that the weeds were not under control. Yet the last application was only fertilizer. Trugreen sold their aeration and reseeding service for $200. The first time they came they did not complete the entire yard and there were not even dents in the ground for the aeration. I called them to return. The second time they were on property 5 minutes according to my cameras. No better impact on the yard and they scratched my privacy fence in multiple places. I contacted customer service to request a supervisor review the yard and received no response for 3 weeks. I then requested a refund and have not received any response again. read more

Wish I could pick a lower rating. Prepaid for six fertilizer and weed control treatments. At this point, I have had four "spot treatments" where I witnessed the technician use a hand pump to spray three patches in my lawn full of weeds. I fertilized my trees and the grass around those trees is thick, lush, and healthy from just the overspray as compared to the yellow sparse blades in the rest of the yard despite being less than one year old sod with a sprinkler system. When confronted, the technician argued with me that he completely treated the lawn with what it needed. Save your money and level of aggravation, don't go with this company even if a bit lower financially. I promise you will be disappointed. read more

Let's put it this way; there is a reason the overall rating on here is a 1-star. Last year we bought the best package they offer in an effort to get our lawn ship shape. They have the "if you don't see results after 14 days, call us back and we'll do a free visit". Isn't the whole point of a lawn service so that WE don't have to maintain weeds, etc? How about they do a site visit every couple weeks and make sure the job THEY did was sufficient. The package was 7 visits plus the aeration and overseeding. Price seemed high but given the fact we're relatively new to home ownership we sucked it up and paid it hoping we'd have a beautiful lawn in the end. Visits were supposed to be every 6 weeks at most --- I understand weather related delays - however, they STILL required my constant babysitting of their service. I said at the end of the season to remove me from their system as we were not pleased with the service and did not wish to continue next year. We come home from work a few weeks back and they have (WITH MY SPECIFIC REQUEST NOT TO CONTINUE supposedly on file) treated our lawn. I called them and they said they would formally inactivate me from their system and remove the charge. Nothing heard for weeks - then today I get a phone call from some teenie bopper in Indianapolis asking if they can restart my service with Trugreen. I said, no thank you - we selected a local company this year. HE HANGS UP ON ME. That was really what triggered the nasty review ---- after I tell you I'm done don't f'in call to see if I changed my mine. We set up service with the Indianapolis location and after the 1st application we have been rescheduled 6 times. When we initially set up they said they would service every 6 weeks it's been over 2 months. The weeds are coming back along with patches of dead grass from the weeds dying after the first application. Starting at look at other services since they don't seem to want my business. read more

They sent a new tech out (I had previously had the same tech since I had started with them), who apparently couldn't find my house. Having been a customer of TruGreen for several years now I have to say how truly disappointed I am with their service. You can't even get to a Service Manager or Division Manager to voice your concerns. There is no personal service anymore only their "Trudy, automated voice calls. You can call a customer service number, but it's a huge call center somewhere in the US. My recent problem was trying to buy an additional service to our lawn service, but will say that we didn't get the service when we were suppose to and when I called the Salesman, Robert Smith, he tried telling me that his "Production Manager" was out of the office. I told him "Seriously, that's the excuse you are going to give me... that in this day and age where EVERYONE had a cell phone, that you couldn't reach him?" He hung up on me. When I called Trugreen Indianapolis number, the sales person on the phone was very rude, and was badly pushing me to accept a unreasonable high price. Come on! I am just new to Indy, I am not new to business. Stop using those dirty tricks to fool your customers. Don't use them. Poor service and they are not trying to change to make it better. They come out when the want to. They have killed the weeds and the grass in my back yard. I have cancelled my service. Everything they have said they would do when they originally called me they have not done. I'm not sure who to contact about their business practice. BEWARE SHADY PEOPLE At my house two times this week. First time the guy tells me my lawn has been measured wrong that it is about double what they measured but not to worry, they will bill for the correct amount next year. Then he said they were going to have to send the machine to do my lawn as it was too much for him to spray on foot (Scotts never had a problem). He also stressed that the violets in my lawn were going to be a major issue and that i should expect brown spots, etc. So he leaves without doing anything. He told me the office would contact me with new charges and new schedule--never heard anything. Same guy shows up again two days later when it is raining out and says my lawn has been remeasured. I asked if it was okay to spray in the rain and he said some things would be okay but the weed killer probably wouldn't do its job. Then the violets again..so I said that it would probably be best to do it when its not raining. (why do i have to even deal with this and tell this guy this?) Called the Tru green number and they were not listening, rude, not helpful and basically made me feel as if I was interrupting an appendectomy or something important. Worst customer service I have ever had. Tore up my yard with their aerator, broke my edging and landscape light. I prepaid for services. Was told I will need to speak to a service manager. No one has called me back after three days, I have made multiple calls and emails. Won't credit my remaining services , that I prepaid? Now getting automated calls saying they are putting weed killer down 3 days after seeding my yard?? Techs are poorly trained and take no pride in their work. This service is a scam. they keep promising you that they will provide you with great service and have a great lawn. Instead they miss treating half my yard but charge me for a whole application. initially the area manager came out to see and had another service performed. no change in the weeds in the yard. As indicated by an technician their product is so watered down, it is relatively ineffective. Now you can't even get to a Service Manager or Division Manager to voice your concerns. they are always out and the customer care employees just repeat what is on the screen. Better stay away from this place. Signed up thinking they could assist me in getting my yard looking good again. After 6 paid treatments and 3 or 4 free return trips because of my complaints (to some guy who definitely need some customer service training) my yard looks no better than my neighbors who do nothing but mow theirs. They have a " free return if you don't see results in 15 to 21 days". I didn't see results & called and advised them of such. Less than a week after they came & did a free return treatment they came in & did another type of treatment & charged me for it. I had advised them to not do anything else until the wed issue was resolved. Of course they have no record of that in the notes. I called shortly after the service & told them I was not paying for the visit. The other issue had not been resolved as of yet. Again, no record of that in the notes ( same rude customer service person). Today i get another bill stating my account is overdue. I called and advised I wasn't paying & requested to speak to a manager. Guess what, as with all the other complaints there were none available. I hope someone in a management position with TruGreen contacts me so I can further discussion. Terrible customer service! Company is based in Indianapolis, but (alegedly) services Terre Haute. Tried to order seeding services for three weeks; speaking to at least a dozen different people and not a single person could schedule the services they advertised. Promised phone calls back and never heard from them until one evening, a guy calls me to say "the computers will be down for a while and it might take a few weeks. I called Rose Hill Lawn Service and they came out that day and did the job (at about half the price I was initially quoted by Truegreen). Don't waste your time with this company. read more
