I definitely do not recommend TruGreen lawn service. I paid for a year in advance and they said that they took care of all weeds. After about 5 paid sprays and 4 free sprays, they finally admitted that they didn't take care of nimblewill, after telling me for several months that their products took care of it. Whatever they put on my yard destroyed it. It still has a lot of broadleaf weeds, and about 50% of my yard is nimblewill. I had no nimblewill when they started, and my yard is full of it now. Proceed at your own peril. This is the worst lawn service that I've ever dealt with. If I could give a 0, I would. read more

Thought I'd leave a review since there's so many negative reviews on here. We've used TruGreen in the past and never had an issue and our yard looked great! Yesterday, I decided that we don't have time to care for our lawn and signed up for a new plan. I'll keep everyone updated with before and after pics of the progress once they start next week, so for now I'll give a neutral review until things get started. Update: I prepaid for services and my yard is full of weeds, specifically our back yard, the portion of the yard they always skip and lie saying they treated it. We have extensive camera systems and these guys truly don't care about our lawn. There's 4 ft tall weeds growing in the back yard and I paid for weed control. I'll never use this company ever again after this season. As a side note, the last time they were here to make up for not spraying the back yard the time before, they left our gate wide open. So, I had to hobble outside and down the steps with a leg fracture to close the gate because they didn't close it back when they left....I was furious. You guys need to do better! When we used them previously we loved the attention our lawn received, but things have gone way downhill! read more

Excuse after excuse regarding my lawn treatment. I paid in advance for both the front and back yard to be treated. I called repeatedly last year to have them come back to treat the back yard because when they came they would only do the front. Was told they added notes to our file to correct this issue on multiple occasions. Guess what? The first treatment this year and they skipped the back yard again. I was also told that my file did not have any notes. The Lady I spoke with on the phone then tried to tell me that they had treated the back yard....I said "I'm looking at the lawn" and how would you know your on the phone? Additionally , so little product put on the front that you can't even see it. I'm a patient and reasonable guy but It feels like I'm being scammed. I've lost confidence and trust in TruGreen. read more

We paid in advance for whole year for all services. Mosquito lawn treatment is done by opinion of areas they assume you use, so only if a swing, chair or playground is out do they think you use any part of your yard so they only spray perimeter of house. They have severely damaged our $1000 gardenia that is a house plant half the year. They refuse to allow you to talk to any manager. They missed the same patches of yard during weed treatment. I have called them back 4x and they will never knock on your door, just leave paperwork in door and a yard sign (even if a sign is still there from previous trip). read more

So this "technical manager" comes to my place because he says that my lawn looks a bit out of whack. Yes there are still weeds and yes there are brown spots, but it was because I originally called Scotts to care of it and their service sucked, after one treatment. Currently, I am with Weedman and their service has been up to par and that for only $40 per treatment, plus unlimited services, if the lawn does not look right. The rep tried to sell me on TruGreen, but $45 is a bit too steep, even with discounts. I am not counting it out, since my neighbor has been using you guys for a while and her lawn is weed free and green for the most part. I told the rep that I would be willing to change over if Weedman did not work. The reason for this review was just to say that I appreciate the rep taking time out of his day to give me an estimate. I tried TruGreen because of a special rate, not sure how special it was after witnessing service. I had reported continual weed problems after service was started. Then I installed a camera so I could see my dogs and side yard. Average visit took less than 5 minutes and area covered by camera showed nothing being done. I need to be able to trust a company doing service while away and TruGreen did not earn trust. read more

I have been a customer of TruGreen for close to three years now. I HAVE BEEN DISSAPOINTED IN THEM. This last service is the end. They came out and applied BOTH FERTILIZER AND LIME IN SAME APPLICATION. As a result, my yard is AGAIN destroyed. Same problem last year, at that time I started to cancel, but they admitted they screwed up and corrected problem by power seeding in fall free of charge. NOW, same PROBLEM- THIS IS IT!!!! GOODBYE! Just requested a quote from TruGreen. Got a call within 5 minutes, which was appreciated. Then it went downhill from there. I told the sales rep that I was looking for information on what they offer. I got "not sure what info you're looking for." So I had to lay it out for him (price, what's included, how many applications a year, etc.). Then he asked if we could schedule the first treatment. I explained that I'm still doing research, and would probably talk to others to compare price and services offered. The rep then asked me "well, how many more people are you going to talk to." I told him that I didn't know yet. His response was "well I don't know what good that's going to do for you. We've been in business 40 years." Very poor experience with someone trying to sell me on their business. Can only imagine what it's like once they get you. I will pass for sure and find a company that has better customer service. read more

This company shouldn't get 1 Star. Today they were suppose to come out. They were suppose to call when they were on their way. So apparently they came and left a note that they called and no one answered and that there were too many cars in the driveway. No one ever called and they couldn't even knock on the door if the cars were in the way. It is easy to move a car. Don't do business with them. I would love to be posting a review about TruGreen's lawn care services instead of their Extremely Aggressive Sales People, but I felt the need to make it clear why I'm choosing Weed Man instead. I called into TruGreen and made it clear that I was shopping around for services and wasn't going to sign up today, however, I was looking to get something set in stone by the end of the week. With this being said, the sales guy still felt the need to bash all of the competition saying "our service is better than anywhere else" to which I asked "what makes you guys better" and he replied "we just are". After a few minutes of Aggressive "sign up now" sales tactics, I had a few more questions for me to compare TruGreen to their competition, but instead of getting my inquiries answered, the sales guy decided to ask "do you want me to schedule my guy to come out there next week" (referring to his lawn guy) and I replied "not today, but I have a few more questions"; he then said "awww ok" and hung up the phone. I'm excluding the quotes from his EXTREMELY aggressive sales style because I'm assuming this was taught to him by TruGreen. read more

I used TruGreen for 3 years. The worst service I ever had. You could not tell the difference between my yard and the neighbors yards that were never treated. They kept telling me to give it a chance. Well, I gave it a chance for 3 years & still had all kinds of weeds. This year I treated my lawn myself and it has never looked so good. Getting the dark green color & it is getting thicker. The 29.95 is nothing but a lure to get you to sign up for their services. The technician came out to spray, thinking no one was home and he did half of the lawn when he claimed he did the whole lawn. I called and complained and NOTHING was done. I told them I did not want anymore service until the first application was done correct. They came out anyway, claimed to spray their watered down junk and charged me 89.95!!! They are liars and ripoffs!! Stay away and do it yourself and you will have a more beautiful lawn and more money in your bank. read more

I have been using Trugreen for about one year. After researching and speaking with other lawn services in my area, I chose Truegreen based on how affordable it is compared to others, and I needed a treatment against grubs wreaking havoc on my newly sodded lawn at the time. My lawn now looks great! The price of a professional treating my 5,500 sq/ft lawn outweighed buying the materials myself, and the amount of time it would take for me to apply the correct amount of the product was well worth it. The customer service is friendly when you call in as well. That said, trying to get information from Truegreen about lawn issues and setting up a specific service call is horrendous! There are so many miscommunications inside Trugreen that I get different answers every time I call in. It took me two months speaking with five different customer service reps and finally a manager to schedule the aeration package! It took multiple weeks for my lawn to be even treated for grubs when this was one of the reasons I needed a lawn service! I have security cameras which also caught the reps NOT treating the entirety of my lawn. When my yard showed fungal issues (either that or fertilizer burn), I called customer service to set up a lawn rep to inspect my property for fungal issues, and I requested a callback. The representative treated my property the first time for routine weed control, and the work ticket did not mention anything about fungus inspection. The next day another rep came out and said he had no idea that he was inspecting for fungal issues and was there to treat for weeds! I cannot make this up! I made a side comment about them being America's #1 lawn service, and he said, "I wouldn't call us that. I have no idea what I'm doing." If you are looking for a good laugh, Truegreen is your route. Just know what you are getting. read more

Currently using TruGreen and really unhappy with their customer service. Have paid for seeding and treatment, yet my lawn still looks bad with weeds and patchy areas with no grass. Have called 4 times to find out when they will be out again and no one bothers to come or return my phone calls. I would highly discourage anyone from using this company. Trugreen left a voicemail last week saying they were going to spray my yard today (Monday). I decided to call and skip the treatment, because I had a bag of early spring fertilizer which I applied myself yesterday (Sunday). At 8 o'clock this morning I look out and they are just finishing treating my yard. I called to complain and the customer service guy says, "yeah I see where you called and canceled this application". These guys are hacks. I cancelled service last year and they call and say they are going treat my yard this year. When I call to cancel I get put on hold for over 20 minutes listening to their ads about how great they are. Actually they suck!!! Might as well pour gas on your yard. read more
