The lawn was well maintained before starting service, so really the purpose of hiring them was to just keep up with what I had already established...The first two years the lawn looked pretty decent however I did notice weeds starting to pop up. Last year the lawn really got overwhelmed with weeds and I was planning on dropping them because of my dissatisfaction; however once i called they made promises, told me they would take soil samples, and get my lawn back in order... I know it's early in the season, but my lawn is already COVERED in clover and weeds. My lawn now looks worse than it did 4 years ago, There is no way that everything I am seeing Is just from this year, it is due to years of neglect and miss treatment... I signed up for the top-level service from Trugreen. One my first treatment, they showed up first thing in the morning, were here for 10 minutes total, and left. No-one stopped to speak with me, let me know what I can expect, answer any questions, test my soil, nothing that was in what I ordered. I called and the customer service person (who was very nice) told me that this all happens on the 2nd visit.. well, just had my 2nd visit, and didn't even know they were here, again, nothing that was promised happened. We tried. We really tried. Took a trip down to the office in Londonderry and they were really nice. But they just couldn't get their act together. I even got an email address for someone at the office and they responded wonderfully. Unfortunately Trugreen just couldn't manage to get a single application of weed control down in the several months we were with them. They thought they did, but then realized they didn't. The first time they came it was raining so they skipped it. The guy said he'd be back. Never came back. Each time they called to sell me something new, I told them they hadn't provided the service they already sold me. I was promised they'd look into it. Over and again. But these are sales people calling and they aren't invested in fixing issues, just making commissions. In addition, I called customer service to find out when they were coming back and was told it was the fertilizer they skipped, but it was weed control. That's the thing I cared about more than the fertilizer. Finally I had a day off and drove down to the office. I don't have time for this. That's why I hired people in the first place. They came back and sprayed my neighbors yard. Then returned again to make up for it but left a note that they just sprayed and couldn't spray again. It got comical in the end and my email contact at the local office just couldn't believe how hard of a time we were having getting the service we paid for in full, in advance. In the end we got a full refund. However, we lost our lawn. What started as 70,000 sq ft of nice lawn is now 30% weeds. No weed control all spring, with tons of rain this year. It's going to cost us a lot of money and time to fix it. Though I'm tempted to sue them I just don't have the time. There is something seriously wrong with Trugreen's sales and service structure. The several months I was with them we spoke so many times. They paid visits to the house and only wanted to sell me more service. But failed miserably to provide any service. My suggestion is don't sign up with them. But if you do, drive down to the local office and have a chat. They were welcoming there. There is just a major disconnect between departments. read more

They cam out to look at it, we we're working and they left us a written form with recommendations of how we could fix it! Man what a disaster. I will say the call rep women are super friendly and the area manager deeply cares about his job and making things right. But the communication between the call center and the technicians- is unacceptable and painful to experience. Hired them in March; fired them in april, rehired them in May. We had an issue every single service, with their solution being "free re-services". I don't want free services or credits, I want my lawn taken care of the way I hired someone to do it. I called in early spring to get rid of the crab grass clovers and dandelions that over populated in my lawn, and by SEPTEMBER there were still dandelions clovers and crab grass .. and it spread at an astronomical rate. I had prepaid for aeration and overseeing in the fall; which I figured I would dig up the large areas of weeds and place new soil before aeration and seeding. We were scheduled the week of the 28th. I timed my schedule accordingly, and after 3 days of me working on my front side and back lawn, I had about 15 beeps of debris piles throughout. Trugreen came a week early and the crazy part is they aerated and seeded AROUND the heaps of my piles. That was the last straw for me. Customers should not have to spend 30-60 minutes every visit asking what was completed on the visit, and explaining the laundry list of issues that happen each and every month. I should have someone I trust come out when I expect them to and expect they know what they're doing. The fact that thatching and removal of weeds isn't included; is insane to me. read more

Zero stars. I was told that I would have pre-emergence applied on April 17th. No one came. No calls. No communication. I called them. They came back this past Monday (April 22nd). The tech who also does houses in the neighborhood suggested that we don't do treatment because it was going to rain later and he would come back on Thursday (April 25). Seemed like a reasonable suggestion so I said OK. No one came on Thursday so I called around 4:30 to get someone over as we will have rain for the next few days. I called customer service around 4:30 on Thursday. I said I wanted someone out there *today*. Customer service rep said no and they would schedule me on May 6th. That's 19 days late for pre-emergence. I told them to call the local office and get someone out there. The rep said she couldn't. I then asked for a supervisor. I was told there wasn't a supervisor there. I then demanded cancellation and a full refund. Unfortunately to call was terminated because I lost cell service. I called today (April 26th) and talked to Shana (sp?). While she was sympathetic, the best reschedule she could do was May 3rd. Trugreen just doesn't get it. After several months of using TrueGreen my lawn has never looked as bad as it currently does. I have no idea what they did but most of the grass is dead and the weeds are happy and healthy. I did call and complain and they came out and spread something else which appears to have made it worse. I typically do the lawn myself and have never had problems like this. I do not have one of those perfect lawns you see but it has always been nice and green and no bare spots. Now it looks like it's going to be completely burned out. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. I called in early May to sign up and schedule the entire summers worth of mosquitoe and tick spray for our home. We have 2 young kids and I didn't want them getting eaten alive by mosquitoes or risk Lyme disease every time we were out playing in the yard. Soooo...I called and the guy I spoke to was great. I prepaid for the entire summer as to get the extra discount. Great! I was told that someone would be contacting me to schedule the initial application. Fine! After 2 weeks of hearing nothing...I called. "Oh someone will be out there by next Wednesday. Ok! Wednesday came and went. No one..... I called again and let them know that we had a party scheduled in our yard on a June 15th and that I really needed it done prior to that party because I didn't want our 50 guests getting eaten alive. I was reassured that they'd be there by June 12th. They made a special note on our account saying "must complete by June 12." So....June 12 around 7am I get an update that they will be at the house by 3. Perfect! 3:00 came and went. 4:00 came and went. 5:00 came and went. No spray! So first thing on the 13th I called and spoke with "Kathryn" so told me that the guy got held up the night before because a truck broke down and no one was going to be able to get to us until after the 17th!! Umm....nope! So I told her that was unacceptable, we prepaid close to $1000 to have this done back in MAY and no one had been out to do it 6 weeks later. I told her I wanted someone at the house by 5:00 or I wanted a full refund. She put me on hold. However...before she managed to hit the hold button she said "fu**ing bitc*" Sooo....when she returned from the hold I let her know that I heard what she said and that I wanted to speak to her supervisor. She was stumbling on her words to apologize of course! The supervisor assured me someone would be at our house by 5:00. And they were. The spray definitely works! Not a mosquito in site for about 10 days. So I called when they started to get bad again and was told "oh yes, we'll be right out to re-spray" 2 weeks and they never showed up. As of now we have canceled all services with them and have gotten a full refund. Awful customer service! Unreliable service! Rude Custer service representatives! Last fall I had parts of my lawn irrigated and overseeded, the first time they didn't get all the areas I showed them so they had to come back and do it again, after several weeks of watering like they told me to do some grass grew but not every where they seeded, I called and they said some may not grow until next spring. So here we are in the spring and now little to no grass has grown!!! I called again and the CSR said they would come over and take a soil sample and inspect the areas done. The next day I get a call saying that the CSR shouldn't have told me that as they don't do soil samples, so then I asked well what are you going to do about this, the man said that they don't guarantee that grass will grow, REALLY, so what's the point in doing and paying for a service if nothing grows, if anything I should get my money back!! As the TruGreen "professionals " in Londonderry were unwilling or unable to come to my home to diagnose my lawn problem or even return a phone call, I called in another service that quickly diagnosed a lawn fungus. So I went to research on the web as to how to eliminate the fungus. Lo and behold a TruGreen link came up with an article about lawn fungus and how to get rid of it. At the end of the article there's a form to complete to request service to have a TruGreen rep quote the service and visit the home. You must know where this is going to go ...right? So I completed the service request form. In less than 5 minutes flat I get a call from the TruGreen sales office in Nebraska. So....that's what it takes to get a response from TruGreen!! Demonstrates that the "green" in "TruGreen" is just about the color of the buck. Now...if only we can get their customer service and lawncare "professionals" to be as responsive! Absolutely the worst company to hire. They say they walk your property and access it and to find sqft, but don't. They applied product for 10k sqft. My yard is 38k. Say they applied 132 pounds of fertilizer which is an absolute lie. It's appalling they even put that number on the records. I bet they applied less than 10 pounds on my entire yard. And I watched from my window and saw how full the spreader was when they started and when they finished. They miss massive sections of the yard and when you go look after they are done there will be one granular per 5 feet. They scam their customers by applying so little product and then miss half the yard. They are lazy AF and don't care. For some reason they are still in business. I complained after every visit and finally had enough and got a refund. The WORST company to hire. They may be the cheapest because they don't come close to what they say they're gong to do. That exactly why they are in business still. Make as much money from people before they catch on and cancel. DO NOT ruin your yard with TRU GREEN services. professional installation of loam and hydro seed 5k+, one year of tru green services $1500+, I rented a core aerator last year and over seeded...then Tru Green came a week later and did it (I called to schedule it for this spring, but the kid on the phone just wanted his commission)....Then this year I wasn't happy with how it was going...hadn't heard boo from tru green...had a commercial landscaper come in and thatch all the dead grass away....he said it was week...so he had to be gentle. So I bust out the wallet and throw a bunch of expensive perennial seed down for tru green to just come un announced 2 days later and spray pre-emergent down (didn't see any seeds?)...My home security cameras caught the tech only doing half the yard...so I called to complain and they came out the following week to do the other side. Like it did any good...I have so many patches of crabgrass and clover still. Finally enough is enough...I call and cancel my expensive package, and they say someone will come look at it. They scheduled it for this past tuesday, guy was a no-show...thanks for letting me burn half of a vacation day for nothing! Called...they said they would message him and have him contact me immediately...nope...never called. today I am getting ready to travel...have a ton of errands...and they email me saying they set a new appointment for this morning between 7-12. I call at 8..."Listen...I really need a better window...since you really screwed me over last time, how about you figure it out as I can't stick around all day and I really want to speak with the tech as he walks my property..." "well...you should be able to tell on the map where the driver is and how ling until he gets there...we have no way of checking.." Really? "we'll give the driver a call..." so at 8am, the woman tells me he should be there in about an hour....and 10am I get on the horn to hear the same thing again....but now, they can't get a hold of the guy. they'll keep trying...yeah right! I am so sick of the LACK OF GIVE A CRAP! PEOPLE! DON"T DO IT! You are a number...that's all you are, they don't give two craps about your lawn. They say on their website the tech will check your soil and give it just what it needs...absolutely not...a truck pulls up...7-9 minutes later they pull away and leave you a fat bill. absolutely NO oversight. You get the same chemicals at the same rate as everyone else does that day. I entertain often, being able to sit on my deck and admire a quality lawn is important to me. If there is a problem with my lawn...talk to me about it, let me know what needs to be done to correct it...nope...on your receipt you'll get the same message as everyone else gets...Your lawn is greening up! Today i applied a negative dollar amount to your bank account. Don't forget to water when it hasn't rained for several days...at least an inch a week...a tuna can is a great way to gauge! In February I hired TruGreen, and pre-paid for services, to replace our previous lawn service company. We had the two "pre-treatments" to get the lawn ready for the spring/summer. Those two services occured in April, with the last one on 4/30/20. By the end of May I started to reach out to TruGreen to get see when we were going to get services, especially grub treatment. My account dashboard did not even have services scheduled so I could pay attention to when up coming services would occur, though there was a spot for it. I called and spoke to a nice woman to told me that I would get a call from someone in 24 hours about the grub treatment. That never occurred. She then told me I would have services on Monday 6/22/20, after I had called the 1-844-768-1022 number on the website; but it was then moved to 6/26/20. We were also, twice by now, supposed to receive Grub treatment and was to be called to set that up, but that call never came. On 6/26/20, I kept receiving notifications that the service technician was on his way, though the times kept getting later and later; until finally I just received an email stating that my services was not able to be completed. Because it is Friday after 5:00 PM, and their website says they close at 5:00pm, I emailed again to tell them that I would like to cancel my services and get a refund for all services I had prepaid for and did not receive. We were aware that services could be 4-6 week out; however, we had passed the 8 week mark. Since services had not been completed but had been paid for I let them know that I considered this to be breech of contract. I let them know that I would call Monday 06/26/20 to follow up. I then filled out the survey on their website, obviously giving them a zero and received an email and a voicemail asking me to call so they could fix it. Since the phone number in the email/voicemail was different than the website, I called. The person I talked to told me that a manager was supposed to call me, that my account is now inactive because of my request to refund. They came out 2 mos later without authorization, overseeded my lawn on Oct 25. There were leaves all over the yard. I had to leaf blow as snow was coming. I called to let them know they screwed up and the service was useless and unauthorized. They told me they would resolve it. 3 mos later I get a collection letter I call they tell me they will resolve it. 30 days later I get a collection letter. I call again they tell me they will resolve it. 30 days later I get another collection letter. I call they tell me that they show no history of my calls and cannot do anything for me. Their lawn service is mediocre at best and their customer service is horrible. They use call centers that have no vested interest in truegreen or their clients. Save yourself the headaches. They do not care about you. TrueGreen is a Corporation that does not care about anything besides cost savings and the bottom-line. Stay away, Stay local. I fully regret going with Trugreen for treating our yard for ticks. What they offer is not in the least bit helpful, and their customer service is abysmal. When I originally called to request this service I specifically asked about the woods behind my house being well treated for ticks. I was told on the phone that they would treat that area, and all low hanging branches as well. They even confirmed that they had looked at my property on their website and saw the wooded areas I wanted treated. I also reiterated this every time a technician came to my house. They NEVER did and refused to refund me for not performing the services they promised. (I have an app on my phone that records calls, so I know for a fact they agreed to this the first time we spoke to set up service.) When they came out I heard their truck starting up to leave within a matter of 3 minutes or less from when they knocked on my door. In the time it took me to walk to my kitchen and grab a glass for water they were leaving. There is absolutely no way he did anything more than put a tacky sign in my yard in that amount of time. When I emailed customer service they THEN told me that they do not treat in wooded areas, and will only treat your lawn, the edges of your lawn, and low branches around the lawn. What they won't treat is the areas where ticks actually live. At the time I was told there was absolutely no way the tech had treated even the incredibly inadequate coverage they do offer, and I would like someone else sent back out. I then requested they cancel my future treatments and refund me for the prepaid amount. The person I was emailing with cancelled my future treatment and refunded me for only my last scheduled appointment, then told me that she could not send someone out to re-do the appointment where they literally did NOTHING to my yard. She told me that since my account was cancelled she would not do anything else for me. I had to call customer service and threaten to contact the Better Business Bureau to get anything done. They still refused to actually treat the lawn, and instead issued me a refund. This feels wildly unprofessional and lazy. Not only should they have refunded me fully for never doing what I asked and they promised, but the least they could have done to keep my family slightly safer would be to send someone out to redo the horrible "work" of their clearly unsupervised employee. I will be telling everyone I know to avoid this company. They are out to swindle customers, do no work, and keep your money. You are MUCH better off treating your yard yourself, so you know something is actually being done. read more

I was a Truegreen customer for 10 years. Never loved them, had issues with them from time to time, but they were OK and my lawn looked pretty good. The last straw for me was when they made a billing error that resulted in my getting contacted by a collections agency. At that point I was done. This was during the fall of 2013. I decided that this wasn't rocket science and that I would do it myself. Great decision in retrospect as it is simple and I get the same (or better) results. I also like that I can decide when to apply treatment to maximize effectiveness. I have never written a review online before but today (Feb 2015) I just received ANOTHER call asking why I left and asking me to come back. I have received no less than 30 calls over the past two years on my cell phone as has my wife. Every time I get the call I simply say, "please take me off your list. I am not interested in hearing from Truegreen anymore". I ALWAYS get an argument at that point asking what they did wrong and how to make it right. When I finally tell them that I would prefer to pave my lawn over and kill all my shrubs than go back to them they tend to get the message. They then say that they will take me off the list. And then they call me again two weeks later and have the same conversation Lather, rinse repeat. I would encourage anyone reading this to seek lawn services elsewhere. While their service was OK (kind of, I guess) they will stalk you like a crazy ex-girlfriend if you ever decide to pursue other options. read more

Then we heard from TruGreen that they were rescheduling us for today (Saturday) so we changed our plan to be home. By 4:00 pm no one had come, so we called. An automated voice system told us our serviceman would be at our home within the hour - so we waited. No one showed. We called back. An automated voice system told us that we had cancelled the service order! We checked our credit card, and sure enough they charged us. When we tried to speak to a customer representative, the automated voice system said they were closed and to call during normal business hours. I have been a TruGreen, previously ChemLawn customer for years, and had been pleased with their prepaid service. Over the last two years, TruGreen out of Londonderry NH has been going down hill. Last year on two separate occasions, I happened to be home when they serviced my lawn, the tech that was performing the service, went quickly and missed various parts of my lawn. I called and they came back. On the second occasion, it was when they were performing the late season aeration service, and the tech. clearly couldn't handle the machine, also missing parts of my lawn. I called multiple times, but they kept postponing, and never came back. This year, they called saying that they would be serving my lawn in a couple of days, but then never showed up. I have called numerous times about this missed service, promising a reschedule, and now one month later, they still have not showed up to service my lawn. Sigh. I was told, no problem, they could schedule someone to come out on the day we move in. Nope. No show. Said I requested afternoon and they were only available in my area in the morning. Didn't bother calling as there is a small swamp across the street; anyway... 2nd treatment scheduled for the 18th - get an email they are "on their way" in the morning. At 5:30 I received an email saying, "sorry, we couldn't make it - we will reschedule". A week goes by, no call so I call the following week after that. They tell me they can't get anyone out there until the 31st or 1st. Not good enough. I called again - asked for a supervisor. THEY WILL NOT GIVE YOU TO A SUPERVISOR. I filed a request on-line for someone to call me or respond. NOTHING. Called the local agent here in Londonderry, left a voicemail message, sent a text. Nothing. Trying calling AGAIN a couple days later and he pretended he couldn't hear me. REALLY??? So I called the 1-800 # AGAIN and this customer service rep told me he would schedule me for this Wednesday but would NOT give me the name or contact info for the regional director/supervisor. He felt he already "took care of the problem". Now, I just got my recorded message my lawn is being treated tomorrow, weather permitting. Guess what? It's going to rain w/ thunderstorms tomorrow - I'll bet they will cancel AGAIN. This is ridiculous. As soon as a Manager/Supervisor gets in touch with me, like they keep promising, I will be canceling my service and going back to JP Chemical as I NEVER had an issue with them. P.S. all the customer service reps are all very "nice" and claim how "sorry" they are and they will "fix it right away" because they "understand". If they did - why isn't a supervisor or manager calling me back?? Like I have requested 8 times in 2 weeks. WORST COMPANY EVER. read more

This place is a joke and then does nothing for you and asked I want a refund and cancel my account.... They claim to do the service and never did the service... Got them on Cam not doing it. The Manager admitted to not doing it. Service manager tell me he will charge me for the service that he didn't do today and will give me a free service next time he's not giving anything for free... Correct????????? This is the 3 and last time I GET OF THEM..... I could go on about other service but i wont safe your money. read more

Oh my god. The worst. We trusted trugreen about 7 years ago and our lawn was fine and we were happy. We decided to give them a try again. Wow. Terrible product. Terrible service. Terrible hold times. Everything was terrible. Still had a weeds. Still had grubs. may as well still be on hold. read more
