Driving 35W Northbound and thought we'd try Mexican food for dinner. Found this spot and was not disappointed! Chips and salsa were the bomb. The chips were light, airy and strong enough to pick up salsa without breaking. I could eat those for a meal! Next up for dinner we got chicken enchiladas with corn tortillas instead of flour. They were seasoned well, great taste and texture. Mixed up some rice and beans and a bite on the enchiladas was fantastic! For the price, you can't go wrong. Waiter was super helpful and friendly, as was the hostess. Great dinner, quick service and fantastic price, what more could you ask for? Next trip through the area, I'll stop by.

Steak, chicken and shrimp fajitas. An incredible amount of food! And beyond delicious!!!

Amazing. Excellent food, I mean really good! Service was good - waitress was friendly. Thank you for an awesome meal. Quaint setting - highly recommend!

Decor - There's not much to rave about here. Everything looks dated and nondescript. Food - Great prices. I had the special which included 2 beef tacos, beans, and rice for $5.99. As far as taste goes it what I expect from most Mexican restaurants in Waco. The margaritas at $2.00 each were bad either. Chips/Salsa - These items are normally my first introduction to a Mexican restaurant and they were a colossal failures my opinion. The chips weren't light and crispy. The chips tasted like corn chips. The salsa was not only cold (I think cold salsa is deplorable) but lacked any real flavor and it was too chunky for me. Service - Everyone was nice and my waiter was very attentive. I'd return but only because of the great prices and good service.

5 out of 5 Bear Paws in my opinion, the beat crunchy taco plate in Waco. The perfect amount of lettuce, tomatoes, and flavourful beef. The beans where amazing and the rice was also good.

Friday special! Taco, chalupa, enchilada rice & beans!

A quick lunch stop on the way to Austin! Do not fill up on their homemade chips like I did! I got the Friday special for $6.99 and what a deal! The beef taco was packed with the right amount of meat, cheese, lettuce & tomato! I ate it first & the shell never fell apart! I started on the chalupa which is like a flat bean taco. Crispy & loaded with the same veggies. I started to get full so I quickly ate a bite of the enchilada, the perfect rice & refried beans. I felt so bad at leaving so much food but this could've satisfied 2 other people! Not bad for a quick cheap lunch!

Good tex-mex, friendly staff. You can't question a restaurant over 50 years old. Right on the circle

The waitress was sweet, but remained slow throughout the entire meal. Our waitress never offered drink refills, and we waited extended periods for a to-go box and our check before finally going to the cashier ourselves. The biggest issue was a strong sewage-like odor coming from the restroom area. We were seated nearby, and every time the bathroom doors opened, the smell drifted into the dining room. Even the handwashing station in the dining area had the same unpleasant odor. The food looked great when it arrived, and the chips and salsa seemed fresh. However, I was disappointed to learn they no longer serve guacamole with their fajitas. The chicken fajitas arrived sizzling hot, but became very dry as they cooled. They were spicy, but lacked much flavor. The rice and beans were good. Overall, between the slow service, unpleasant smell, and mediocre food, I would not return or recommend this restaurant. There are plenty of other Mexican restaurants in Waco that I'd try before coming back here.

Thought we'd give it a try seeing as it was 10 minutes off I-35. Found the small place and it was exactly what we were looking for! The chips and salsa was super tasty, the half and half tea was on point, and you can't go wrong with a Mexican coke! Ordered the cheese enchiladas plate and the wife got a quesadilla. We were pleasantly satisfied and they hit the spot. Tbh though, the beans and rice won my heart being so flavorful and delicious. The service was superb and I appreciated their thoughtfulness of checking on us to make sure we were doing ok. All in all, we highly recommend you visit them if you're in the area, we got a table quick around 7 pm and it was a quaint epic time! Try it soon and you won't regret!

Their homemade chips are light and crispy, and their salsa is super flavorful while not overly spicy. It hits that happy medium between my husband and me. Breakfast is also great. You go in and pretty much grab a table unless there's a line with people waiting. Service is always friendly and efficient. Prices are fair. Typical mom and pop type interior with a mixture of booth seating and tables with metal chairs. It's always clean. Branch out and try something new. Highly recommend.
