This cute, little rock house with yellow trim is a happy sight. It's drive thru only. Credit cards are accepted. Nice couple operating the restaurant. Limited menu but tasty. I ordered breakfast burritos and they were a good portion and flavorful. Their salsas were a nice accompaniment to the burritos but would have been tasty without. I ordered at the window and then pulled off in to the parking lot to wait for my order. The gentleman walked my order out to my car, thanked me, and told me to have a good day. Friendly service. Stopped in here during 17u baseball tournament in the area. Had combo platter and was tasty. Least favorite part was taco meat, but I managed to clear my entire plate, so wasn't that bad :). Seemed like a pleasant family-run joint. Small, a few tables, welcome escape from the heat. Would definitely return if in the area again. read more

I've been coming here since I was a child. The place simply has never changed. The family cares about how you're doing and will ask. Love the selection on marinated meats such as barbacoa. Chips, salsa, and guacamole is fantastic! Overall, this is my favorite Mexican restaurant in McLennan country. Also - their burgers are great! read more

My standard order at any TexMex place is chicken enchiladas verde, so that's what I tried on my first visit to Papi's yesterday. They were excellent, and neither the beans or rice on the side seemed like after thoughts as they so often do. I'll definitely be returning soon and suggest that you try them when you're in the area. read more

I was visiting from New England, and grew up in Michigan, and eating at Papi Taco was a life-altering experience, making me realize just what I had been missing in Mexican food for forty years of my life spent dining at the bland, cookie-cutter corporate national chain restaurants. If I'd had a Mexican grandmother, this is the kind of food she'd have cooked for me. It was so homey, fresh, and delicious it was a struggle to stop ordering more. I hope I find myself in McGregor or within 100 miles at some point in the future, so I can enjoy another meal here. read more

This place has a nice small dining area that can get pretty crowded. The bill seemed to add up kind of fast for the amount of food we ordered and I can't say it was super flavorful or exceptional. A lot of the items didn't seem like they were made fresh. A little disappointed I was hoping this would be my new regular taco place. read more
