I called a company that appears near the top of the Yelp results and they blew me off (a story that I could only get the key fob for my 2012 Kia Optima programmed at a dealership). Then I called Trulox and they had someone at my home in about 20 minutes. Haron, the locksmith who came out, was great. He was fast and courteous. What I found most impressive was how he communicated with his tech support rep. They diagnosed the problem with my key and let me know that I needed a new one. HALF ASS WORK & POOR COMMUNICATION-Be very careful when using this business. If you are getting a key fab be sure to ask if the fab will work along with the key. There is a lot of switch and bait on price. Will quote you a price then fail to tell you and add on. I called to have 2 fabs that come with a key (inserted in the fab) for my vehicle. I did not have the original key with me. The appointment was for 4:30pm Tech did not show up until 5:30pm. The Tech immediately asked for payment. I explained I was not paying until I was sure the new fabs/key worked properly. He completed the job at 7pm unfortunately as I thought the panic button did not work (he said it was my car) and that it did not include the manual key that was in the fab that was an additional cost. $436.00 for fab and an additional $156.00 for key. I said I was not told this and I did agree to half ass fab/key programming. Tech programed my car now my original fab does not work. Meaning I can not start my key. read more

Excellent experience from scheduling to completion of job. When I needed to rekey my French Quarter condo, I called L4u. They answered promptly and professionally. My first choice for date and time wasn't available, but they were actually able to squeeze me in a day earlier. I confirmed my appointment time via text. The tech, Ariel, called me a few minutes before arriving. He simply could not have been any more professional or helpful. He even went the extra step of sanding the tops of two sticky doors and helped me move a bed! Who does that?!? This guy! Had a noon appointment and brought my lock to the shop. Called 20 mins beforehand to confirm appointment and was told a technician would be there. Arrived to a locked shop. Called again and was told a technician would be there shortly. Stood outside for 30 minutes and no one showed. Her total charge for the service was $454.22 The locksmith came out then realized that they didn't have the type of keys that is required for her car. I wish I could give them 0 stars but I have to settle for a 1, I called 7:00 am for a key replacement got a price and was told a technician would be reaching out no one never called, until I called the very last time at 5:00 pm a tech called and I was told that I had to pay for the key to be overnight shipped after they told me the key was in stock, The key is already over priced by 400 bucks but because I didn't want to wait a week for the key to come in via dealership I waited around from them to reach out. Today I essentially donated money to this company. I purchased two brand new Key FOB and contacted them to program them. The technician came to my work when I wasn't there and told my employee that both were programmed and he collected $210 from her. When I got to work only one worked and the other did not. I contacted them and the only response they would give me is that since it wasn't their key FOB they wouldn't warranty the service. A warranty on this would be assuming that it worked to begin with which it is not working so your technician did not in fact do what he was hired and paid to do. The technician prior to leaving did not demonstrate that they in fact worked. He simply handed her the keys, told her they worked, collected his money and left. read more

I would not suggest using trulix for a new key fob. I paid $400 to get a new key for my 2012 Nissan Altima. Two weeks after getting my key I was leaving a restaurant to go home when my key fob just out the blue completley stopped working for me. Not only did it stop working but when i took the actual key out to open the do iron that way , i noticed that they didnt even cut my key to open the door that way. I called and no one returned my call i had to break a window to get i side my car. this is a continuing problem that has yet to be corrected as of today. read more

They helped me produce a copy of my current Key and when things didn't work immediately they never gave up. I called this company for my neighbor who needed her car key reprogrammed. The woman who answered the phone told us there was no charge for an estimate. Upon receiving the phone call from the technician who was going to service the car, he asked if we would drive to downtown New Orleans to meet him. WHAT?! I've never heard of anything like this before, then he attempted to diagnose the problem over the phone. He said the car needed a new key, not to be reprogrammed. How can you diagnose an issue without hands on contact with the vehicle? He stated he had been in the business for 5 years now and "Lexus" is known for having bad keys. I believe he diagnosed it as such because it was a Lexus and he saw dollar $ign$. He also mentioned that he didn't have a key to do the job, so how did they dispatch someone for this job knowing that they didn't have the proper part on hand. These people are a JOKE! I saw all the good reviews so I figured we would give them a try, but between dumb and dumber on the phone I don't know who was worse, the woman or the tech. He needs to be REPRIMANDED AND SO DOES SHE! Save your time and valuable money. This would be laughable if this truly wasn't a crisis. *UPDATE- THE WOMAN CALLED BACK- I think there's been a misunderstanding. Needed an emergency electronic lock installed after ours broke. Trulox did the work, charged $350, which was all fine, but the lock didn't work the second time we used it. Trulox charged us another $200, didn't refund any money, and refuses to call us back. Every time we talk to the nice front desk, they say the office manager will call us back. Never happens. I had a terrible experience with Trulox. My only car key broke open and the "electronic" piece fell out and was nowhere to be found. I drive a Mitsubishi and the nearest dealerships are well out of town. Even though I had the hardware portion of the key which fits into the ignition, there is an automatic kill switch if the piece I lost is not in the key - therefore I was was in need of immediate help. I called Trulox on Saturday 5/1 and they sent a great technician, Haron out within 4 hours. He worked on cutting the key and matching it electronically from 5:10pm till almost 7:30pm and decided that the key he brought was "Bad" - he called and spoke with Hili (sp?) who said a key could be ordered for overnight delivery on Monday but I would have to pay an additional $40 for overnighting the new key. I was told I had to pay 1/2 of the total PLUS $40 right then. This came to $201 (total being $295 plus tax, plus the $40). I had to Uber to and from work on Monday and Tuesday and by end of day Tuesday NO ONE had contacted me so I called to make sure they would be sending someone out. Again Hili answered - she was very short with me when I asked if the key had come in. She said she had to check with a supervisor and they would have any keys that came in overnight and said they would call back. I received a call back from a different lady - who said they were sorry about the confusion and set up for Haron to come out Wednesday at 5 to fix the key. I again had to Uber to and from work AND had to arrange to leave work early to be at the house for 5pm. At 5:10 I received a call letting me know that they key had not been ordered and they would need to reschedule for Friday 5/15. At that point I let her know I wanted the $40 overnight fee charged back to whatever my balance would be - she assured me that would happen and they would add an additional $20 discount for the inconvenience. Two more days of Uber cost to and from work... Friday 5/14 Haron came back at 6:15p and when he removed the key they sent with him it was COMPLETELY different than my key - needless to say to fix in sight. It then took another week to get the correct key and get Haron back out to fix the situation. 10 days of Uber expense to and from work (Approximately $175) and Haron finally had the right key. After almost 2 hours the car was starting and the doors were locking electronically - Haron called in to get the total balance and Hili said $275. I had already paid $201 and $60 was to be credited for the key she DID NOT order for overnight and inconvenience. I asked her to do the math again as $275 was $175 too much. She called me rude and few other choice names. I eventually was charged $100 and some change, which was correct for the original EMERGENCY quote minus the extra charge. I should NOT have been charged the $295 emergency fee once this became a 2 week farce, but I was choosing my battles as I NEED my car. I ended up paying $300 and was out of pocket another $175 to get to and from work $475 dollars for a key. The only rebate I was offered for my inconvenience was $20. NEVER AGAIN and Hili needs to be fired - she should not be in Customer Service as she is very bad at her job. read more
