I've been dying to try these tacos since I've had them recommended to me by so many people and even…read morebeen told they are the best tacos in salt lake, and it's a street cart. They are putting the street in street taco that's for sure. We went right during sunset, and it was actually so gorgeous with the mountains. I got Al pastor tacos and my husband got Al pastor, carne asada, and tripa. The Al pastor was soooo good!!! My husband enjoyed the carne asada and also said the tripa was amazing and super crunchy. They have a cooler with toppings and you get to load up the tacos yourself. They also have a cooler with drinks, but they didn't have any Diet Coke. The guys working were super nice and quick. The people in front of us ordered burritos and they let you load them up before wrapping them. I'd love to come back for a burrito. Overall, it lived up to the hype! Worth the stop for sure and highly recommend during sunset.

Went to the Latino Arts festival in Park City and tacos Don Rafa were here. I had heard good things…read moreabout their food and decided to give them a try. Staff wasn't the friendliest but hey it's a hot day with a huge crowd so no big deal. The orders were limited to burrito and taco combos, that come with a canned soda, rice and beans. The taco combo comes with three. Went with the asada and boy were these mediocre. Cheapest cut of chewy meat drenched in oil to help enhance the flavor nestled inside of a store bought tortilla. Tiny tacos with subpar meat filled with the sort of gristle you won't enjoy. For $15 I felt ripped off. The burrito was mostly bright orange rice, not the usual light red rice an abuela makes, filled with half melted cheese, and what appears to be canned beans with a sprinkle of that ghastly meat. Not sure what the hype is about but this place is substandard at best. If you're hungry with no options it's better than nothing but really not worth your money at $5 a taco.

I've been getting all my street tacos here for years, and hands down the best!! El Rey del Tacos…read morebetween State street and Main street on 900 S is the legit street tacos you've been looking for. It brought back memories of working in the orchards with Hispanic friends in Idaho the second I bit into that amazing juicy taco. Load it up with their free vegetables and if you like hot red sauce, theirs is the absolute best I've had around. I still can't find a better street taco, although I've had some other good ones, this place still has me hooked for life.

If someone knows where I can find a Sonoran dog let me know! Along with staples such as carne asada, pollo (aka chicken), al pastor and carnitas they offer traditional favorites of tripe, lengua, nopales (cactus) and chicharrones. They have tortas, burritos, tacos, quesadillas and tostadas. Burritos will run you $5-$5.50 and tacos will run you $1.50. All burritos come with whole pinto beans, rice and cheese, then you get to fill it up with your choice of salsas and accouterments like cabbage, fresh diced onion and cilantro, grilled onion and jalapeno and my personal favorite guacamole/avacado salsa (a delicious blend of what I think is tomatillo salsa, avacado and crema). Had your plate back to the cook and they'll wrap it up tight. Along with the best street meat in Utah, they have a variety of beverages like guava nectar, mango nectar, Mexican coke (glass bottle with real sugar not corn syrup) and jarritos. I typically frequent this place about 1-2 times every couple weeks because you can't feed two people for under $15 anywhere else. The employees are always friendly and they all understand English, most of them speak it well enough to have a short conversation and its a great place for me to practice my terrible Spanish and get a laugh or two when I say something wrong.
