We drove to both ends of parking lot to explore both sides since it was really cold to walk outside. But overall it seemed to be the go to shopping spot in and around KC.

I will say the east side of the mall parking lot is nightmare fuel. It's too condensed and the whole lot lacks any real flow. Tread cautiously. The west side of the mall is more my jam as you can pop into Gary Gribble's Running Store, Starbucks, and a handful of other good spots with relative ease. It still has that weird, echoey mall vibe when you're in the heart of it, but it's not quite as massive as some other malls that are now memories.

The stores are mostly smaller versions of what you would find at Oak Park or Independence center. This place is a decent stop off to kill some time but if you really want shopping you need to go to the larger stores at other locations. There is one bright spot, Macy's. Why? This store is genius. In this unassuming store they have placed a Starbucks, an oasis for men waiting for their wives while they finish shopping. The mere act of selecting flip flops can take a woman over two hours -this is a fact. Additionally, there were clothes I brought that, with the right accessories, such as a shrug, could easily be fall clothes because of the colors. At first, I told them to donate my clothes, but after giving it some thought, returned and took them back. I wish the girl yesterday would have told me they are only accepting fall clothes. I would have gone through the box and pulled out the fall pieces right then and there. Instead, I feel like they didn't go through the box in its entirety and my time as a customer was not valuable to them.

The parking system up to now has been easy to navigate and validate at any shop. The new "frictionless" parking system is an obnoxious data grab, irritating to set up (I do not want to make an account for every place I park), and impossible for people who choose not to have a smartphone on them at all times (me). :) I'm sure it cost a lot to implement, but every person I've talked to has also found it frustrating. Will be ice skating elsewhere from now on and choosing alternative parking from the crown center garages whenever possible.

As in years past we stopped by to pick up several ornaments as part of our holiday tradition for family, friends, and as a promise to my late mother. We picked up a woof doggie bone for a friend who lost her fur baby a couple years ago(I figured she needed a snack, lol). My husband also helped to shop for a dear friend, who just recently lost her son the very beginning of this month(I found an angel happy and he found a male elf ornament to go with it, to honor her angel this holiday season). We also found ornaments to honor our cats and dogs that have crossed the rainbow bridge and that are still here with us. Finally, the last is a promise I made to my late mother.To continue her egg tree(so I picked up the latest eggs to add to the collection.I added 13 more.I will be adding pictures to make another picture book as soon as I can. I try to make a book so I know which ones I have and don't get duplicates). The ornaments are an affordable way to bring a piece of Kansas City home with you.
