This hospital is bullshit. I have pancreatic problems. I m having a flare up an have been given inprophen . I have that at home by prescription!!! They kept saying they would bring me meds.. flintsone chewable s ha. I've been here a week and I have poke marks because they kept missing my vein. I am black and blue is the real life?? Seriously! The bulk of this building is not even open to see people and should have clear signage of the lack of available people, they create more of a danger to the people that are admitted, unless you are incapacitated or going to bleed to death you should just probably go to Cleveland. read more

However, we also know that this is normal in a busy hospital. We appreciate that a specialist came to see us many times, even on their day off. An ER is an "emergency room" not a "waiting room" Went in for a head injury @2PM had to leave after 8 and a half hours. They had continued to bump me over n over for new people coming in. Yet don't even come out to check on their soon to be patients? I sat in the waiting room from 2PM to 10:30PM with a splitting headache from my injured skull, not a lick of help from these people. Should have let this hospital close! I went into the ER with trouble breathing and chest pain. Triage was awful. The girl taking vitals and checking in was rude and did not listen to a word I said. Told me that she could not enter all of my symptoms, so she just didn't. Was then seated in a very dirty sitting area just outside of the intake office. There were bloody bandages laying all over the floor. A worker coming in that sits at a desk right there looked around, rolled her eyes and started complaining to coworkers how disgusting the afternoon shift is from the day before and she had to put on gloves and empty the overflowing trash can near her desk. Also, there were bloody band aids on her desk and keyboard and she had to wipe everything down before she could sit down to start her shift. I was then moved to an "overflow" room with other patients sitting on top of one another. I was severely coughing near everyone. After sitting there waiting for 5 hours I had to ask 3 times when I would find out something about myself with nothing being done. No one knew how to start an IV. Every single patient seen had to be poked 3,4,5,6 or more times and one guy's fell out while just sitting still. I was poked 4 times by 4 different people. I was never once asked to update any of my information in their system and I hadn't been here in 10 years. I was never asked any of my medications currently taking. Never asked what medical issues I currently have. Told the girl when I came in that I couldn't take certain antibiotics for allergic reactions, and they tried to prescribe me that same medication. Did she not even put it down or was the doctor not even looking at my chart? The "overflow" room nurse was horrible and mean! She just kept stating that she was overwhelmed and asking for help to be sent. When being discharged nothing was explained or done to help me. Since I couldn't take the medication they were trying to give me they just decided not to give me anything at all. I was only told to eat better food... what does that have to do with pneumonia? Yes! That is what I had and this was found out after my primary care Dr took care of me 5 days later. The cough medicine they tried to give me was sent to a pharmacy I have not used in 10 years and is in Akron an hour away from my home. When I told the nurse in the overflow room that the pharmacy was wrong on my discharge paperwork she literally yelled at me in front of all of the patients and stated that it was my fault for not telling them up front. THEY NEVER F'N ASKED!!! She said she would fix it and I gave her my pharmacy info but it was never sent! When this woman removed my IV she yanked it out of my arm and walked away leaving me squirting blood all over the floor and running down my arm. I sat there bleeding out until another patient noticed and started yelling for help. The nurse then yelled at me again as if that too was my fault and grabbed some paper towels and crammed them into the crook of my arm, shoved my discharge papers at me with no explanation and told me to leave. Mind you, my blood pressure was sky high and I had an irregular very fast heart rate. When I stood up to leave she was calling over the next patient to sit in that chair I was just in and never once was it sterilized after I bled all over the place. So, my question is, who sat there before me? I will die before I go here again. I am reporting this incident to the state for investigation and HIPAA violations. My rights were violated when my care was discussed in front of the other 50 people in that overflow room and nothing was done to care for me and Bio hazards/Infectious waste EVERYWHERE!!! They also made my disabled husband wait in the waiting room for 5 hours w/o updating him on my condition or allowing him to come to the back with me. This is unacceptable practices. read more

I was kind enough to leave a 2 star review on Google reviews yesterday because the security team was the only ones that helped and were kind, and honestly, that is true today as well. Today, let's be clear zero stars. Zero stars to Topher, when I tried to explain that my boyfriend has issues with opiates and other types of medications, and from there I felt I got a lecture. Of course I'm aware ya'll aren't prescribing opiates to psych patients. If you can't even listen because you want to tell me I'm wrong so badly, please go work away from mental health patients... to tell me that he was better off vomiting from his meds than withdrawal was a absolutely wonderful mentality... except he hadn't been drinking for weeks. He's a diabetic and his sugar was low, but they were so determined to treat the illness they forgot to care about the man. This entire place is trash. How would you enjoy vomiting for hours and be told the nurse is in an emergency... for 5 hours. Apparently a man with type one diabetes with a blood sugar at 47 and vomiting isn't important, but thank God those nurse aids kept bringing orange juice to the man complaining of acid issues and begging for tums, which of course had to come from a nurse.... this is not ok. I will never be disrespected in the manner that nurse spoke to me without speaking up. They are going to kill people here. I will never accept this. read more

My mother in law was admitted there recently for a broken arm, she will be 100 the end of this month. My husband went up to see her today and she wasn't there. No one called him to tell him she was being transferred to a skilled nursing facility. The nurses station could not help other than they think she was transferred to Community Skilled Nursing on Mahoning Ave. He got there and she was not there. So of course he is in a panic and no one was answering their phones. He finally got through to someone and found out she was at Autumn Hills which is not on Mahoning Ave. They said the social worker called him and spoke to him. I was here and no one called him to let him know. Imagine being almost 100 and confused. She does have most of her faculties but still. Shame on that social worker who lied about speaking to him and the hospital for hiring such unworthy people. This was so uncalled for and even for the nursing staff on her floor for not trying to help him find the right place. They could have sent him to someone in the hospital who could help him. Even though they were nice while we were there it is inexcusable for them not to tell him who he could contact at the hospital instead of sending him on a wild goose chase. We care for her and he was at his wits end worried about his mother. read more

The ER needs more staff and to pay more attention to their patients!! In the past month i've been here 2 times and both times the ER was horrible. Longest, most miserable wait of my life. Didn't even help make sure basic human needs were taken care of!! The rest of the hospital (nursing staff) is great, although try not to have a doctor that doesn't go there. If your doctor doesn't go to Trumbull, you get a house doc with a ton of interns and not much time. read more

If I could give negative stars I 100% would. An actual disgrace of an ER that I wouldn't recommend to anyone. My husband had a severe car accident 2 weeks ago. He walked away with no visible injuries thankfully, but we waited about 2 or so hours until he was checked. Mind you he rolled his car 3 times and his car was demolished. My husband was only allowed to go back by himself. He said no to getting a CT scan because of the hefty bill that would've brought to us and because he felt like he didn't need it. If he was allowed to have someone back with him when he was called back we would've said to get one. He was not in the theater state of calling the shots. He was exhausted and wanted to go home especially since he wasn't treated with care and had to wait as long as he did. He eventually asked if his mom could please come back with him. (We are in our early 20's) He asked one of the doctors and she said okay. An hour goes by and his mom was not informed that he wanted her back there and he had no service on his phone in the back. He asked a lady that he believed was a cleaner if she could ask for his mom. Finally after an hour his mom was told to go back. He wanted an x ray since it would be a little easier on our pockets but they refused to give one unless he got a CT scan. That was our first incident with Trumbull ER. Fast forward 2 weeks later exactly, which was yesterday the 22nd we wait 8 HOURS and hadn't been seen or checked to see if my husband was okay. Our reasoning for being there was he had fainted and hit his head on hardwood flooring. Since he had an accident 2 weeks prior we were worried especially with hitting his head as hard as he did. We went to the ER trusting they would take care of him. We were so unbelievably wrong. It was a waste of time and we should've went somewhere else but we felt since he had record of being there 2 weeks prior that it would be best. He sat in the waiting room with a throbbing head, exhausted because he works midnights, hadn't eaten all day making him feel worse. All we wanted was a CT scan and X Ray. My mom went up to the counter 3 times asking when he would be next. Finally the lady said he would be next, 2 1/2 hours later and no one being called to the back, the ER room now filled with people when it hadn't been busy all day. Knowing that they will be waiting just as long as us was sickening. My husband could've had something serious going on with his head/brain and they let him sit there for 8 HOURS. We got there at 2:40pm and had left at 10:30pm because when my mom asked for the last time when will his turn be she was told that they were now unsure. So you are willing to let a person that could have a serious head injury sit there for 8 hours. We were turned away from an urgent care that we thought we could get an x ray from and told to go to the ER which would be beneficial to us. At this point my husband had hit his head 8+ hours ago, I am 5 months pregnant in an ER room with people who are very sick coming in and out. Being told we would be next soon is what kept us there but it came to a point where we couldn't stay any longer. The staff is rude, don't care about their patients, and are an absolute waist of time. At home with heart rate in the 170s. Still having the same exact pain areas but worsening and more pressure. Passed out from similar symptoms 2 weeks ago. Doctor discharges me basically accusing me of lying, in his own terms (yeah ummm i dont wanna be in the ER, trust me.). He said "the tests show everything is fine" when i re-explained my symptoms...Wow, thanks! Im CURED...You know Healthcare is a joke when you would rather die in agony than go back. People say to advocate for yourself...how??? How are you supposed to do that when a doctor can't see through their own biases. Idk wtf he thought, idk if he thought I was seeking drugs or whatever. But even If someone was, you still handle it properly and professionally. Geez. No I don't want pain meds because guess what?? They don't help! Because it's not solving the underlying issue. They act like pain meds are some revolutionary treatment. Of course it didnt help my chest pain and pressure. Wtf. The patient knows their body best. Please make the drive to Cleveland clinic if you can! They have nicer doctors, at least on average. read more

I am out of town and have learned that my father was taken here in an ambulance 8 hours ago. I have been calling for the past 4 hours to try to find out what is going on. I have 3 calls in currently and keep getting transferred and put on hold for greater than 2 hours on 2 calls. There is no excuse for this. They need to at least answer my call and give me an update (even if it is we are still waiting on results-though this should not happen 8 hours out). read more

I went there because it is a holiday weekend. My primary care physician and the specialist I've been seeing are not in. I have chronic tonsillitis and the current antibiotic I was on was no longer working. So I decided just to go here to make sure that I was not developing a peritonsilar abscess. I waited about five minutes to be triaged. I was greeted quickly by an awesome nurse. The doctor was so professional and courteous. They got me in and out within two hours and sent me on my way with a different antibiotic. I've heard people talk about things about this facility. However that was not my experience. I would definitely go back. read more

If I could give less than 1 star I sure would. My husband went in with high blood sugar.Was in the Er for 48 hours before getting a room. He was taken to the emergeny room by ambulance my son and I followed in the car. We got there and about an hour waiting in the waiting room and a nurse comes and just motions for us to come back does not call no names we go back with her and she asks us to sit down so my son and I sit and she preceeds to come over and ask questions about his ride to the hospital than tells us we are sorry but he died in the ambulance on the way to the hospital so i ask are you saying my husband (Said his full name) died? And she said oh Im sorry no your husband is fine he is back in a room. I was so upset first she did not even ask our name when she brought us back and second she thought it was funny that she had the wrong people. I do not recommend this hospital to any one. I say find a different hospital. read more

Absolutely the worst hospital I've been too. All but two people that I talked to in the place were the rudest people I've talked to before. On top if being rude, I was basically forced to do things that I didn't want to do. I was given more medication than I was suppose to get. They made a 2 hour visit turn into a 6 hour visit and left me in a lot of pain. read more

We needed emergency care. Went the this ED. Everyone was friendly, professional and efficient. The ED door security greeted us with a smile and respect. Fast check in, name tag on, called back, quickly seen by Nurse Practitioner Jeffrey, labs drawn, Nurse Janet knows what she is doing and we had a room within several hours after treatment was started. I am a RN and probably more critical than most. I was really impressed. We went at 9 am in the morning. I imagine if you hit it during crunch time, you could wait, but we found the experience very good for an ED. read more

If that is the only hospital your doctor goes to then get a new doctor!! Very very upset with the way they treated my 75 year old mother after a big surgery!! My brother was very ill and had surgery in another hospital and came to trumbul memorial hospital as an emergency patient repeatedly from his nursing home he was treated with respect and kindness, his bed was always clean and crisp he was bathed and changed, I cannot say enough about the nurses and the support staff everyone was polite and helpful it was almost a delight to come to your facility. You should be extremely proud! read more

I would avoid at all costs. Visited the ER in February with the Flu, sicker than sick. Probably my first mistake. Received my bill a month later. Called to set up a payment plan right then and made my first payment, followed by two more monthly before receiving notice that they sent me to collections. I was not late at all. First three people I spoke with in billing were not helpful. Just kept telling me I had no payment plan and that's why I was sent. BS! I had confirmation number still from my first payment made. Finally I spoke to a supervisor who knew his stuff and had my issue figured out in minutes. A late insurance payment restarted my payment plan (according to him) and that's why it showed I had none, ultimately sending me to collections. No other customer care personnel could figure that out? Instead I had one who just didn't bother calling me back, another who wanted to put the blame on me by saying I never set up a plan, when I knew I did, and a third who couldn't be bothered calling me back (first supervisor I asked to speak to). Thank God for the second supervisor's willingness to look into this and discover what happened. If this is how Trumbull treats patients who are making the effort to pay off their debt, I can't even imagine how they treat patients who stick them with the bill. Never again! read more
