On the first day of the month, have you ever heard someone say 'White rabbit'? According to…read moresuperstition, doing so gives you good luck. Well, this Iowa City gem will also give you good luck when it comes to finding gifts for friends, loved ones or yourself. It has so many locally made trinkets and treasures. There is new and old clothing. There is jewelry, accessories, mugs, candles, bath salts, cocktail infusion kits, art, cards, stickers, ornaments, coffee and more! It has something for everyone. Don't just take my word for it. My seven year old daughter, Cora, says this is where 'she finds ALLLLL her mom's favorite gifts.' (And she's not wrong.) I popped on to online shop on Small Business Saturday. I was in luck! 20% off the entire store. Score! I went and loaded my cart with Wake Up Iowa Coffee for my husband and a coworker. (If you haven't had this locally made brew-- do yourself a favor and get a bag.) I also snagged a Practical Magic Apothecary 'Holiday Cocktail' kit. I can't wait to serve it up this holiday season -- how does a mule with hibiscus, blood orange, cinnamon, cardamom and festive spices sound?! White Rabbit ships nationally ($5 flat fee!) and has free in-store pickup for you locals out there. White Rabbit, White Rabbit, White Rabbit! No matter if it is the first of the month or not, you'll feel lucky supporting this local, women-owned biz.

Also, follow them on Instagram -- they often do a story shopping - meaning they post on their story, if you want it - you message them and like magic, it is yours (of course once you pay online)! They'll ship it to you or you can opt to pick up in store! So many great finds and they are considerate to limit the number of people in store, due to Covid-19. Appreciate that!

I'm a big fan of Revival and have been going to this store since I was in college and every time I…read morevisit Iowa City I stop by. I would describe Revival as a Vintage Boutique that buys and resells thrifted and new items + home goods (candles, room sprays, incense) It's been about five years since my return and oh how things have changed! I'll start with the positive first: they now sell sex toys and lube (Maude brand) which is super cool. The candles they sell are so unique and well crafted. What a creative idea to use old fish tins for the base! The not so good: in summary everything's extremely overpriced. Revival use to be more of a thrift store (and yes they still buy and resell thrifted items) but now a large selection of their items are new and well over $100. Mind you this is not a luxury store. Now, I will say Revival has always carried new items and more "high quality pieces" however, today I saw a "preloved" coach bag for $300+ which was insane to me. The selection of clothing is more neutral and basic tones like cream, nude, brown and white. I miss the color and variety that use to be! Today I purchased some groovy sunglasses, vintage Levi Jeans, and some other new goodies. I still love this place and will check it out again the next time I'm in town!

And the inside is so bright with eclectic merchandise tastefully organized -- showcasing shirts, dresses, rompers, pants, jeans, skirts, shoes, purses and accessories... you name it! I feel you can you shop for any woman here, young or old. For instance, our last shopping trip-- both me and my mom (30 years different) found something we liked! That doesn't happen at most stores. You also can find something for any occasion, casual or formal. The brands they feature are trendy and while I feel like the price is a bit higher than I'd want to pay-- they do have sales! I have always been greeted with a smile by their staff. And can't say I have any poor experiences. Parking could be tricky, especially with school in session. I recommend walking a few blocks and parking in the Tower Parking Ramp. (First hour free!)

What an amazing business nestled right across the street from big Grove brewery!! What a better…read morecombination than to drink some great craft beers, eat delicious food and then go thrifting at a really chic, curated, eclectic store. The owners really know their stuff. There are an adorable, young married couple. I wanted to buy everything but I'm trying to downsize so I was there to sell. They took the time to look through all my things even though they weren't buying much at the moment, but they were able to find some pieces and offered me a fair price. I urge anyone who loves stores like Artifacts and the like to check this place out.

Housed in a former staffing services space, the building is open and airy. I stopped in the other weekend and had a great (socially-distant) conversation with the owner. They've only been open a few weeks but already have a great assortment. The shop is curated with mid-century modern and modern furniture, art and records, plus clothes like vintage Hawkeye apparel, hats and jerseys. Fun fact: The owners know the team behind FindFurnish in Minneapolis, a similar store that has made trips down to Iowa City to buy some of their pieces before selling them at much higher, big-city prices. Definitely recommend this new, inspiring shop! Prices are great and the selection is varied.

I've purchased several stable items in my closet, which I find hard to do at consignment stores. The prices are reasonable and product is changing frequently. I'm glad you're open and can't wait to stop by.

Most of the clothes I brought in were not accepted because the tag manufacture date showed they were made 2-3 years ago, despite them being in excellent condition & classic styles from quality brands. It seems like an odd policy for a store to not accept a wool LL Bean coat because it was manufactured two years ago, but isn't above selling Lulularoe. Overall the store has a very "mature" feel, to put it politely, and whoever is curating the inventory determined to be good enough to sell seems to be very out of touch with styles desirable for anyone younger than 60 years old. Perhaps the most memorable part of this store however is how badly it reeks of the Jimmy Johns sub store next store to it. I can't imagine what the clothes smell like once you get them home! I will not be returning & would not recommend consigning or shopping here.
