One was a dime-sized bump above my upper lip that was itchy, red, sensitive, and ugly. It was so painful that I couldn't even go over it with a washcloth and it stuck out so far that you could see it from the side. My other bad scar area was actually inside my bottom lip. This scar was tight and I didn't have any feeling at all in half of my bottom lip. I went to Gainesville Holistic Healthcare to check out microcurrent point stimulation (MPS). The staff there worked with me to find a routine that worked for me. I ended up going twice a week for 15 minutes each to manage all of my scars. By the end of the first month, the scar above my upper lip was flat, less red, and not painful at all anymore. The scar inside my bottom lip was pretty abnormal, but Traci worked with me to find the best protocol. By November, I finally started to get feeling back in my bottom lip, and the scars didn't feel nearly as tight. I seriously can't express how great this place is. The staff are all nice, welcoming, and extremely accommodating. Face injuries are so personal, and they were just as happy as I was every time I hit a new milestone in my healing. I wouldn't want to go anywhere else for my MPS treatments. By the way - their waiting room is awesome. It's full of paintings, jewelry, and candles by local artists, and most are for sale. Well that is not what I have experienced at Shands (UF health) at Magnolia Park. The therapists have been exceptional. nothing short of incredible actually. Amanda is a spinal injury specialist and is on top of her game. She does not miss a beat. Katie and Prtha are also tops. They are all continually researching the best therapy and new cutting edge therapies. I've worked in Health care for almost 18 years and I've never seen the level of professionalism and attention to detail like I've seen here. I can't say enough great things. Recommend highly.
