I've been here three times now. Last two times were for a color and cut by Shannon. She does AMAZING work! Very impressed with her use of color and they don't recommend bleaching here! I hate when I go to a salon and the first thing they do is tell me I have to bleach my hair before I can color it. She was able to life my black hair to a nice red the first time and right now it's a purply red. I'm sure there's a word for that but I can't think of it right now. In love with my hair! The salon is cute and cozy. Shannon and the owner, Chrissy are fun and personable. They're both so friendly and laid back. I like the vibes and environment. This is not a stuffy/stuck up salon! Definitely recommend coming to Truvy and letting these hair goddesses work their magic for you. read more

Clean atmosphere, good energy and very stylish ladies up in here. I said I wanted to enhance my inner "Fairy" with a "Rachel from Friends" kind of style and BAM. Anna made it all possible! She started by rubbing essential oils on my hair and scalp. My hair looks FABULOUS and by far the Best hair place in St. Petersburg FL. Oh and the music was so good, right on point. I have lived in the area for about four years now, and I haven't found a salon I liked until I checked out Truvy. I risked it and bought a Groupon for partial highlights and a haircut, because I was so frustrated with the other places I have been. I am so glad I did, because this place is wonderful. The atmosphere is very relaxed yet still pulls off the essence of an upscale salon. Michelle is really easy to talk to, which I appreciate, because when I am planning to spend 1.5 hours getting my hair done, I don't want a claustrophobic conversation. Not only is she easy to talk to, but she does an excellent job with my hair! I have strangers ask me where I get my hair done, because they want the same look. Chrissy was able to bring my hair back from the sad, box dye job to a fantastic highlight job & stylish haircut. From that point on, I made sure to only see Chrissy for all my hair needs. This review is overdue - my sister and I went here to get our hair done before her beach wedding. We were running a little bit late and getting anxious about it but Chrissy was so fun and relaxed, did our hair in plenty of time, and we both came out looking and feeling great! The half updos lasted well, despite the humidity of the day, but we did not feel like we were shellacked with hairspray/product. I lived closer I'd be here all the time. Both her and Chrissy are unmatched when it comes to color and extensions. Even after moving to Miami, I drive 4 hours ever 2-3 months to get my hair done. I've been getting my hair done here for a few years now. Chrissy is great at what she does! I initially came in back in 2015 after a disastrous bleach job where my hair broke off to shoulder length from mid back length. Chrissy helped me maintain my white platinum hair while keeping it healthy. Had bead extensions for a while but ended up removing those and stopped bleaching and coloring. Going to Truvy Salon and seeing Shannon is my all time favorite time of the month! She makes you feel so welcome and always quick to give you suggestions and help in every way possible, not just with your hair, but with EVERYTHING! She is AMAZING! I first friend requested her on fb bc I seen she had been the artist to give a couple of my friends makeovers to their hair but then had another friend recommend me after mentioning she got her extensions done by Shannon. Right when she said Shannon, I asked "the hair diva?", as that was her name on fb. She yelled yes and I knew it was about time I got to her and check her out. Now, I've been wanting to get extensions for sooo long but was so nervous bc my hair is TERRIBLY thin and most stylists aren't used to it and have to be careful... But I will say, what shannon did to my hair was LIFE CHANGING! Im not even exaggerating! She knew exactly how to place the hair so it was never noticeable and can do all the things with it that I could before and can never even tell the difference between my real hair and the extensions! I have been going to Truvy Salon for a couple years. When I first moved from New York I tried a few salons. Nothing compared to the professionalism and creativity of Truvy Salon. Chrissy, the proprietor is always acquiring new styling techniques, which by the way she finds in places like Milan, Italy, or New York City. Her products are incredible, imported from Italy and make your hair feel like silk. The best is that her prices are affordable!!! Do yourself a favor, don't waste your time going to other salons in the Clearwater/St Pete area. I travel 45 minutes to get my hair done at Truvy and it's worth every minute and every mile!!! read more
