I love it! I can't say enough about Cassie and her skill with color correction. My cut is amazing as well. I only wish I lived closer so I could keep scheduling my hair appointments with Cassie. I had a GREAT experience with Rick at Roots Salon! I chose Rick because I read that he's a master stylist when it comes to short hair ... and Rick didn't disappoint. He gave me a fabulous cut, just exactly what I wanted! He's truly a master with short hair. He gave me a cut that other stylists said they couldn't do; that my hair wasn't the right texture to look like the pics I had shown them. But Rick made it happen. And I couldn't be happier. After a 30 min wait ( I was a new client) for the stylist to finish with his chit chatty client, he never popped out to welcome me or say he'd be right with me...I should've walked out. It went downhill from there. I showed him a photo of the style I was trying to grow into, from a previous bad cut...he said "I'm not a miracle worker", then proceeded to tell me the color formula I gave him from my out of town stylist , he said no one uses that brand of color (Kuene).... Again I should've left... He colored my roots ( left it much darker) and gave me a pretty bad haircut.... I would definitely not recommend this salon or the stylist (Rick)! Claudia is a master colorist! She took the dyed brown portion of my brassy highlighted hair to cool ash blonde for a brighter, lighter look that flatters mt skin tone and blends beautifully with my roots. Several years ago my daughter Michelle introduced me to Claudia at Roots. I was in dire need of a change and had no idea what to do with my style. On my first consult Claudia looks at my roots and suggested letting my hair go natural (mostly white). I wasn't comfortable with that as I had dyed my hair for many years. Recently I told Claudia I was ready for a big change with my color. In only 2 sessions, she took my medium brown/red hair to its real color -- bright white. I couldn't be happier with the results! She's both creative and a great listener. I've had many compliments and even though I was afraid white hair might wash me out it actually brightens and flatters my pale complexion. This salon has a really great setup, allowing independent hairstylists to be their own boss, but still have the atmosphere of a larger salon! I would recommend finding a stylist and making an appointment, as there usually isn't someone working the front desk when I've gone. We've been going to see Jennifer Garabrant for years and are always pleased with our cut or color! The place is very trendy and clean, and Jen is super friendly and reasonably priced! read more

My previous post was very much written out of anger and I apologize for being so emotional about my hair. I did not intend to hurt anyone. The stylist was very sweet and helped me out by fitting me into her schedule at the last minute to accommodate me. My color was beautiful and service at the salon was great but unfortunately I had a pretty severe allergic reaction to the color we used...Prevana. After I contacted the stylist to let her know I was having an allergic reaction she was very concerned for me and immediately gave me a full refund for her days work, something I was not completely comfortable. This hair appointment was actually my birthday present from my mom and my stylist didn't want me to remember my birthday present from my mom this year being an allergic reaction. Cate is absolutely amazing!! I have been searching for a stylist that can tame my hair and she is the one! I went in for highlights and she delivered! She took the time to explain why I shouldn't go lighter than wanted so I wouldn't damage my hair and I'm so glad I took her advice. I moved to St. Pete about 7 months ago and have been looking for a good place to get my hair done. Have had more than one bad experience so far. I drive by this place alot and it looked nice. It says right on the window that walk ins are welcome. So I walked in not get my hair done right then but to make an appt. And check it out. There was no one at the desk and one stylist working on a client literally less than 10 feet from me. I looked around and waited and waited for someone, anyone to acknowledge me. Never happened. I still cant believe that the stylist didn't at least say something, anything? Then another person walked in behind me. The stylist immediately greeted her, saying hello and that she was early.
