Went into this store this morning and I got white trash, sweet and spicy cajun mix, and smores. I'm telling you right now i've fell in love with all of them and i'm now craving these nuts every minute of my life now. Not a single flavor in the store is bad. And don't forget, the lady working the cashier was so kind and let me try samples! Definitely should stop by and pick up a few flavors to try!!! read more

Oh my gosh so good. The beef jerky is super tender and so full of flavor. The GARLIC is da bomb. The nuts are good. Even got some cool pants. The truffles are ok. Glad I came in here. Going to stop by on the way out of outer banks and get some more of the garlic jerky read more

Stopped in while shopping in town. The shop owner and her friendly dog "cowboy" greeted us. They offered a sample of there "white trash" treat but it was a tad bit to sweet for my liking. I came in looking for their "Butta Toasted Pecans". They are delightful. read more

We love try my nuts. We have frequented them in most of their locations. And have even ordered from them online. 4 stars because they are expensive. We dropped well Over $200 for nuts and candy based items. The white trash. Is really good but a bit sweet. White chocolate covered pretzels and cereal mix. It's hard to eat just a little. We are locals here and we were heading in but we saw it was unfortunately closed. although to our surprise the lady in the car next to us was the owner and asked if we were going in to her shop. we said yes and without hesitation she walked right in and turned the lights on for us! we were so happy and we got to try lots of amazing homemade treats!! their t-shirts are top-down funniest I've seen living here all my life you've got to see it for yourself!! read more

White Trash! And no, that's not a slur -- it's a mix of Chex, pretzels and other stuff covered in a glorious white chocolate. What you say? Chocolate at a nut company? Yes - and it's the best place in town to get it. We get some every time we vacation in OBX and the conversation goes something like this - "Let's try not to eat all of it before vacation is over." We always fail. On our most recent visit, we also picked up some of their truffles which were fantastic. Great little decadent dessert to have with a glass of champagne overlooking the ocean. They're obviously more known for their nut mixes, but I've only ever really warmed up to the butter toasted pecans. The service is always super friendly and it's a nice vacation treat. But be prepared, we always end up shelling out at least $50 when we are in this store - it's pricey. read more

It's an OBX thing! Who can have the most obscene name that draws attention... In the case of 'Try My Nuts' the attention is a welcome bonus for the nut aficionado. Yes there are people who are nuts over nuts! I didn't think that Try My Nuts would make it more than a year or two. I was wrong! Since 1999 Try My Nuts has been serving up yummy nuts to the OBX crowd. When you enter one of the locations you will most likely be cordially greeted by a TMN family member. After you walk around for a moment the shop keep will offer you some samples. Maybe that is where the name came from... I doubt it! No BS - The nuts are expensive. Don't be such a cheap ass! Try some! I would guess that a lot of profit is from customers who give the shocking brand to a friend as a gift. Yes, the hilariously vulgar company t-shirts sell VERY well also. But seriously Try The Nuts! The Chocolate Covered Brittle is to die for and the Wasabi Cashews are unbelievable. PS - they also have a HUGE hot sauce collection for us fire breathing types. read more

The name is what drew my into this store and in the end, I purchased a can of nuts and a souvenir t-shirt that had some adult humor on it! People always get a kick out of the shirt when I wear it. I went into this shop with the intention of grabbing a bag or two of gourmet nuts. I was instantly confused because I just couldn't find them in the shop. There were tshirts, shotglasses and hot sauces, but the nuts were not the focal point at all. Once I made it past the novelty junk and found the nuts, the selection was decent. The name definitely draws attention, but the second you sample the product you can tell that it's definitely of good quality. They sometimes give out samples in the store and sell other novelty items such as shirts/clothing, salt water taffy and chocolate truffles. The inside is surprisingly spacious for a store who specializes in selling nuts. My only gripe is the price. OBX is expensive in general. It's really tough to find anything souvenirs or otherwise that are reasonably priced. Definitely worth stopping in if you can get a sample though, I recommend the butter cashews! Yummmmm read more

I loved the place, it's small but it's jam packed full of nuts and other things. They have A LOT of variety there. Some flavors are a bit weird and shouldn't be on a peanut however they were good when the lady let me try a sample. For example I think they had banana split peanuts I tried it and it was spot on as in flavor. But I like to stick to more ordinary flavors. So I purchased some Carolina reaper nuts and some other hot ones. And also purchased a hoodie as I love the logo and slogan too much. People get a laugh every time I wear my hoodie. Gotta love it, right? Well, I've been coming here since about age 5, and I'm sure every year I've had a new understanding of the store's name. When I see it now, I smile and offer an endearing eye roll (if there is such a thing.) The offensively-named trail mix "white trash" is a particularly tasty treat. Pretzels, nuts, etc all coated in white chocolate. It's another childhood memory that is probably only tasty because of the nostalgia that kicks in mid-chew. Also, the spicy pistachios were a little silly since they were roasted and spiced in the shell, which you don't eat, so you never really taste the flavor...what genius came up with that recipe?! Either way, it's a fun shop to peruse, but beware of the inappropriateness of some of the souvenirs inside. You probably could guess that from the name. read more

The selection of nuts is rather small because of all the other things that they sell. The prices are high but not unreasonable. They have a good selection of hot sauces ranging in flavors and hotness. The nuts themselves are tasty but nothing special. Overall, go to the store for the humor but I would recommend that you just buy the nuts on the online store since they are cheaper there. read more
