Great location. Great decor. Conveniently located on a somewhat busy strip. Isla Verde Beach is right across the street. The front desk employees were nice but didn't seem too enthusiastic about their job. Definitely enjoyed myself and would go back

The service was ok. The bar and restaurant is decent. The service there was pretty good. The pool is nice, although I think it closes at 8pm. The rooms were small but clean. The best part is the location.

Daaaannng Wyndham! I see you! I may just want to stay a while. OK, lemme get these outta the way FOR THE JET MAGAZINE STYLE READERs(like to read but not too much): Lobby = nioice (in Tiffany haddish voice saying nice) Rooms/decor = sexy (and fun ready) Staff = amazing (their background check must pass thru modeling agencies, a university doctoral review committee and Chick-fil-A's service standards team) CHECK-IN (singing, hey how ya doooin) Hello short hair. The front desk manager was stunning. So much so I lost focus for a minute. Then after swooning subsides and music volume returns to normal I realize how professional everyone was. I never had a Chick-fil-A experience in a hotel. My room wasn't ready (arrived at 11:30am) but they pointed me to a space where I could chill and set up my laptop for a few. I didn't notice the 1.5 hr pass because THIS EFFEN LOBBY WAS Nice! Say it with me, SEXY!!! This was not the Wyndham I knew, my assistant gets made points for this reservation. LAY ME DOWN TO SLEEP Ok, my room was decorated in calming gray tones with pops of orange & purple and was done right! I also had a private balcony(con: mine had no furniture-thanks covid). I had more than enough WORKING USB plugs for devices(counted 6) flanking both sides of the headboard(which was also very sturdy---no I didn't get to test it;)) but if you have a boo or Bae, you will be OK #BARS!. There were also a few, "cushy" round ottomans and chairs for my creative peeps or additional seating whatever floats your boat. They had the stuff I normally put in the closet(Coffeemakers stocked with local Yaucono coffee), ice bucket, etc... I also had a mini-fridge(should've been wrapped in orange). The bathroom was nice and had a Throne that is Dude friendly (where ya junk doesn't hit the water=major points). Their stock of shampoo and body lotion was white citrus-scented(amazing) and was placed on floating wood shelve with a real bamboo plant on it. Yeah, you read that right, real plants in a hotel room (extends right arm straight out and drops room key...come on think mic drop ppl). VENTURE OUT Hotel is a 3-6minute walk from beautiful Isla Verde Beach, tons of bars, clubs and restaurants nearby. The pool: a rectangular pool surrounded by loungers and patio tables and the infamous grass wall, for impromptu photoshoots. Cons: No direct beach access All in, the rooms are eye-catching, lobby has a dope modern design, outdoor pool is bright and appealing and entire staff is well above par. If you stay here, tell the manager I said HI.

First timer. This hotel is top notch! Granted the rooms are a tad small but very comfortable (look at my pics). Also is very centric and at walking distance from restaurants, gas station, supermarket, and the beach is across the street. I'll be back in April so I will come here again. Front desk (5 stars): the service is superb and staff is VERY friendly (at least to me).

Mold. Room needs a deep cleaning

This place is basically capitalizing off the marketing of the "Wyndham" name - making you believe you are staying at a hotel that is boutique or has some luxury. In reality, it is like a basic Best Western that underwent a cheap facelift. The lobby area is small but well laid out with dividing walls creating spaces. Unless you get a room in the lobby it is the only good thing about the hotel. It photographs pretty well but that's about it. The rooms are small, depressing and worn despite being "recently renovated" because the building architecture is old and not conducive to nice looking rooms. (I could easily touch the very low ceiling with my hand). My room had one small jail cell sized window designed not to open to allow any fresh air. Bed was small but okay for one person and the room was 'somewhat' clean - it could use a deep cleaning as there was mold in the shower. That makes me wonder what else needs cleaning. The restaurant bar was fine but not memorable. Service was friendly which helps make up for everything else. I requested a later checkout and was denied so I always find that so hospitable when a hotel can't accommodate one hour after I checked in late - with jet lag the 11AM checkout is rough. But then again, I am able to get out of the miserable room sooner so maybe that is a plus. So if you need to be near the airport for ONE night, maybe it's okay if you are paying under $200/ night. Anything more and you will feel ripped off - considering what you can get in say NYC for $250/ night (and this hotel is not even right on the beach). Ultimately I would not stay here again.

The TRYP by Wyndham Isla Verde is a decent bouquet hotel next to the airport and public beaches in San Juan PR. It's a little outdated and the rooms are small but decorated simply. Unfortunately there is only one elevator and it does take time to wait for one. The walls are paper thin so you'll hear conversations in the hallway. The beds are comfortable and rooms are clean. The staff is friendly and it's located near restaurants and shops. The towels are thinner than I like. The water pressure is good and the shower is hot. Overall it's a decent hotel for a short stay.

Stayed here on last day in PR back in Sept. We wanted to explore other parts of PR besides OSJ and heard the beaches here were pristine. It's also about 10 minutes from the airport so location was convenient as well. The pictures online looked exactly as we walked in the hotel. Big modern and clean lobby, nicely decorated lounge with internet stations, beautiful pool area, pizza restaurant and high rated gastropub by the lobby . The beach access was just across the street. Upon arrival, the nice receptionist offered an upgrade. I originally booked a double room but she mentioned that the upgraded room was big enough for a family of four. Of course I took the free offer even though it was just me and a friend. She gave us room 402. Room was definitely huge. Comfy king bed, 2 bunk beds (great for kids), living area with modern swiveling chairs, writing desk and large bathroom. The room also had essential business traveler necessities including, lcd with direct tv, strong wifi, microwave, fridge, coffee maker, toiletries, blow dryer, iron and board plus USB outlets on the headboard and writing desk. I took a lot pictures of the room so check them out. The only issue with this room was the noise coming from the building's A/C condensers outside. They were 3 floors down below outside but could still hear the loud fans seeping thru the tightly shut windows. The hotel agent was nice enough to show us another room but it was much smaller and quite too. We just decided to stay because we were not planning to stay indoors anyway. We had no problems sleeping thru the night. Maybe some fans were off because less people were using A/C at night? I suggest to get a higher floor room or avoid that side of the hotel where the condensers are located. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here. Professional staff, nice modern facilities, technology friendly and great location. Highly recommended for the business traveler. I got a great deal too from Hotels.com. Only paid 100 bucks for this family room upgrade :)

The front desk remains unattended several times a day for the staff to run personal errands, And while they are there they are clueless and all makes up different things. For example: I arrived early and my room wasn't ready. They put my luggage in storage, and wrote my phone number down. " We'll call you once your room is ready" Approximately 1 hour after checkin, I approached the front desk. "Oh your room is ready." I stated I never got the phone call. Her response "Oh we forgot." Sent me on my way to room 905. About half hour later another couple with my group arrived. They were greeted with drinks and the red carpet was rolled out. The pool staff is obnoxious and rude. We was at the pool level patio, where we ordered food and drinks. After some food and 2 rounds of terrible drinks, he brought us all receipts and said 20% gratituities were added to each of the couples bill. (3 Different couples). Ok, we all laughed and said we was going to tip more than that anyway. His loss!Room was 905 was beautiful just like in the pictures, and a beachview. No complaints there. Wasn't in the room much. We actually booked 2 extra days. I was then notified that I must checkout at 12;00 and checkin at 4;00 pm.I actually requested to keep the same room as we had unpacked.. Again someone else said the same thing. I must checkout. Then I happen to see the midnight supervisor. told him the situation and said it could be done. He would have done it, but he said it has to be after 3am when the days in the system roll over. Of course I went to bed. I went back to the front desk that morning. After waiting 30 minutes for someone to attend, a young lady came. Told her everything, including what the manager said and flatly boldly said "He's wrong, You have to check out." I proceed to check out before noon. As it was getting close to noon, I started receiving text messages about a late checkout for an additional $150. My phone number is working now.I checked out and put my luggage in storage, and was reassured again that I would receive a call as soon as a room was available. About 2 hours after checkin started I returned to the front desk, was given new key bracelets. I stated again, I thought you was going to call me. Her response was a laugh and she stated "Oh I forgot." Now I'm in room 608, which was visibly much smaller. The closet was missing a glass door, And the bed was terrible compared to room 905. The sheet were even stained. Put the do not disturb sign on the door. Lo and behold. Heard a knock. Before I could answer, housekeeping was keying into my room. I asked what was she doing and posted at the sign, She stated "Oh sorry, I didn't see it" I think she was coming to look for something to steal. Also construction is going on. Every early morning guest are awakened by what should and feels like they are jack hammering through the building. There is a terrible smell, like a dead rodent or human down the walkway to. the street. And yes the hotel knows about it. All the employees cover their faces and noses when exiting the building. This is not luxury!

It's not huge, but there are day beds and lounge chairs. We booked a day bed and it was very comfortable. The pool overlooks the beach, which is lovely. The music was fun. We had a nice breeze from the ocean. The pool was warm, which I did not love. It felt like a bathtub and I would've preferred a bit cooler, so you can actually cool off in the heat. The pool deck had ant swarms on it, which is why I'm giving three stars. I had just spent days on a pool deck nearby and had seen exactly zero bugs, so this tells me they are not treating the hotel. Due to that, I would never, ever stay here, even though it looks nice, nor would I return to the pool. Even my boyfriend, who is not usually bothered my anything, was unhappy about the ants. Pool deck bathrooms were clean. We still ate, because we had to, since we were there all day. The food was delicious. We got the beef empanadas, beef pinchos with fries, and sweet chili wings. They don't have a cocktail list, so they just make whatever you want, though we did not get anything. This could have been a great experience but my concerns about the cleanliness outweigh what could have been.

Ground floor is lively, with a 4-way intersection in the middle of a manmade grotto and a handful of shops and stops along the outskirts. There's a lovely pool area in the back, and the casino is not too crazy when it's open. The room we stayed in was a little worn, weirdly humid and slightly damp smelling. The linens were clean and the amenities worked, but the room definitely showed its age. View from the window was of a lot of buildings, so not much to look at. Front end staff were friendly. Public spaces were clean, and the gym was small but good enough for a hotel gym area. Breakfast is a quarter of the ground floor. Plenty of seating, lots of options. Food was okay, a step above other hotels but still a low bar to clear. All the breakfast basics with omelette options. It's a perfectly fine stop if you're planning on going someplace else the next day. If you had to spend a lot of time here, I'm sure the issues would mount exponentially. Given its location to the cruise ports and airport, it's good enough. For travelers, Make sure to check which pier to go to if you're cruising. This hotel doesn't offer shuttle service and there's two ports on that side. If you get off at the wrong one, it will be a 1.5 mile trek to the other.

It definitely gave a classy vibe. The beach and resort grounds are beautiful too, with clean pools and helpful waitstaff. I only wish the rooms had been held to the same standards. My parents' room was ready first, and though we had booked for a king room in the main hotel, we both ended up getting free upgrades to the banyan bungalows due to "high occupancy". We noticed a slight odor when we walked into my parents' room, but shrugged it off, dropped our bags, and went to lunch at the beach club (which was wildly expensive might I add). While we were at lunch, it poured rain, and afterwards we went to the casino and then got the notification that the room for my husband and I was ready. We went to collect our bags that we had dropped in our parents' room, and we were greeted with an intense, undeniable sewage smell. Everyone got headaches just from a few minutes in there. My parents immediately called the front desk to send someone out and ask if they could switch rooms. The head of housekeeping came and was extremely transparent, saying this is a known problem and this room and one other at the end always get a strong sewage smell after it rains. Thankfully, they moved my parents into the poolside villas, but we were disgusted at the fact that they knowingly are putting people in that room despite it being a public health hazard. They also claim that the banyan bungalows are newly renovated, which was wild to us considering the smell and dirty rugs we had in both of our rooms. The poolside villas at least felt newer, however, there was mold on the ceiling above the shower and a musty smell that came through the vents when the air conditioning came on. My mom wasn't feeling well by the end of the trip from breathing it in every night, but no one felt like wanting to switch rooms again. There was little apology from the front desk when my parents switched rooms. Finally when they texted my parents asking how their stay was mid-week and my mom mentioned the inconvenience, they did provide a $100 credit which was appreciated. Our travel agent was appalled, as this was supposed to be one of the nicest resorts in Puerto Rico and she had even called the day before to verify our rooms would be next to each other and exactly as we had booked. Unfortunately, the first impression of our rooms just left a bad taste in our mouth. We tried to make the best of the rest of the trip and ignore the lipstick on a pig vibes that the hotel gave. While checking out, I caught a valet parking fee of $33 that was added on to our tab, which was impossible because we never rented a car and only ubered the entire time. Thankfully, they took it off without a fight. If I come back to Puerto Rico, we likely won't be returning here, which is a shame because we did enjoy the resort and casino itself.
