    My view in the morning

This is a good option if you are cruising. Location is good and very walkable. I didn't realize how good the location was until we were driving to the cruise port. There's restaurants nearby. There's a pharmacy/mom/pop shop to purchase a few things. The hotel gave a $15 or $17 credit to be used before midnight. That credit was used to purchase a couple Gatorade and a candy bar. Complimentary water bottles were also available in the room. The bed was comfortable. The pillows were good. We had a view of the water too. FYI: a guest shared with me that there's a cafeteria nearby which serves great breakfast.

Check in was 4 pm. I arrived and had to wait in the lobby along with other guests because the room were not ready. Could go anywhere because luggage was unsecured. Lots of guests were not happy, especially on the hotel website. Apparently room not ready has been a persistent issues! Finally got a room at 6:40. Room is smaller, dated, and toilet seat does not stay up. I would read the comments left by other guests to decide if this is the place for you! &289.94 for 14 hrs!

This an amazing Hotel. Young lady at the front desk, is the best. People here have been so cool that honestly has been a great experience. So definitely booking here again.

Well, this is a quick stopover on the way to a cruise. Used my Marriott points to get this room. The location is about 10 minutes ride share to the dock and a15 minute walk to a beach. The amenities are average. What was neat was that we got a 17$ credit to spend in the snack bar prior to midnight on the day of check in. Waters were a surprisingly low $4 and candy/chips $3. We were able to get 2 waters and 2 candie and 1 bag of chips for late night snacking. LOL, the room so tiny (we got a king bed) and the bathroom toilet lid would not lift all the way because of a shelf behind the toilet (you will see). The AC unit was so loud and kept going on and off to impair my sleep, and so I am out by the pool at 0600 writing this review. The desk staff was EXCELLENT and represented San Juan well! A quick stop here would be good, but a longer stay... I don't recommend.

This hotel worked out well. We had a flight delay after a cruise and needed to stay an extra night in San Juan. We originally booked two double beds but they were able to upgrade us to a king. We were hoping the room would be ready earlier, but unfortunately we had to wait to the official time of 4. There is a destination fee of $18/night, however you can spend this in the little market they have. They have a small assortment of sodas and snacks. They also have milk which I was really excited about for my coffee. Keep in mind you have to spend it that night, and can't spend it the morning you check out. You can always double check with the staff so you don't lose out on your $18. Hotel is very walkable to many things. Easy walk to the food truck park and Pueblo (grocery store). It's about a 20-min walk to Condado, which is the fancier part of town with lots of English (and a Starbucks). The hotel is on the older side, but was fine overall. There is only one elevator, so you might have to wait a little bit. We had a room on the 11th floor that as right near the ice and elevator, but I didn't get any noise, and I'm a light sleeper. There's also a laundry that we used that takes quarters if needed.

This hotel turned out to be a very good option for a somewhat last minute one night stay in San Juan. As well as a nice alternative to Old San Juan. It was close to an English speaking area called Condado, which is near the bay and has a number of nice shops. It is actually located in the area of Miramar, which has some nice personality of its own as an arts district. The check in process was a bit hectic. They did allow us to leave our luggage while we explored the town. This was fortunate since the room was not available until 4. Be aware this hotel may be very busy. Don't plan on an early check in. The front desk staff were very patient with all of our questions. As a bonus, they all spoke very good English, especially for those of us like me who have limited Spanish skills (does Duolingo count?) They gave us a high floor room which had a nice view, albeit through a very small window. There's only one elevator so you might have to wait a bit. Although the furniture in the room was dated, the bed was really comfortable. The room was clean and the housekeeping staff was very friendly and helpful. There is also a coin operated washer and dryer and they will break your money for change if needed. The only problem I had was that the dryer didn't work, but the hotel staff helped with a refund so I could try a different dryer unit.

While the location is excellent, the overall experience fell far short of what I would consider a luxury hotel. Based on my stay, I would recommend saving your money and considering other options.

The only logical explanation is that this policy makes the room prices appear to cost about $200 a night less than the real charges. Otherwise, why not just raise the advertised price by 20%? There is no doubt the property is in a gorgeous location, sitting directly on the ocean. The buildings are in good condition and the staff is courteous. But, I experienced several shortfalls compared to my expectations for this price point. The suites are provided a "butler," but the available hours are 10am to 6pm. The service would be more accurately described as a concierge. Bringing coffee in the morning is not on the list of duties, nor assisting with unpacking or packing or other typical butler activities. Sending out laundry the day before my departure, I asked to have it folded so it would be easier to pack. Everything came back on hangers. My room did not receive turn-down service and fresh towels during the third night of my stay. I asked to have a car booked to the airport from the hotel. The butler got it backwards and booked it from the airport to the hotel. Good thing that I took a close look at the confirmation and noticed the routing was backwards. The breakfast restaurant, Ola, is extremely crowded in the morning with a 30 to 60 minute wait being typical in my experience. As…read moreMarriott Rewards members, we wanted to stay at a Marriott property, and we also wanted to be close to Isla Verde, where I stayed the last time I was in San Juan. We considered the San Juan Marriott Resort and the Courtyard by Marriott, but we felt the AC Hotel was in a better location for us. After visiting all three major Marriott properties during our trip, the AC is the quietest. If that is important to you, then it is worth considering. It was important to us, and we were happy that it was not overrun with guests, especially in the rooftop pool area. When our car service dropped us off around 10:00 p.m., there was no wait to check in. We walked straight to the front desk and got our room keys. The front desk staff were very friendly throughout our entire stay, and we appreciated that. When we checked in, I was a little surprised by the mandatory 45 dollar daily resort credit, called a destination fee, that was added to our bill each day. We were required to pay it, then spend it in the hotel at various locations, breakfast excluded. If we did not use the credit each day, it was lost. We felt this was an unnecessary burden, which limited our ability to support local businesses and reduced our options. Our room on the eighth floor was very spacious, and it had a living room, a bedroom, and a balcony with chairs. The room was great, but the thermostat had strict limits, so we were never able to adjust the air conditioning to our preferred temperature. It always felt warm in the room, which I assume was due to energy conservation controls. We had a partial ocean view, which was better than most partial views I have had at other hotels. The view was great for photos and videos, especially during sunset. You could also hear the waves crashing on the beach, even though the hotel is not located directly on the water. There are a lot of roosters roaming around the area near the property, so we got the unofficial 5:00 a.m. wake-up call from them. It was a little disruptive at first, but after a day or two, we were able to tune them out. I want to give a sincere shout out to the housekeeping service. It was outstanding. Every day, our housekeeper came before noon and left the room looking like we had just checked in. It was some of the best housekeeping I have experienced at a Marriott property, and it really added to our stay. We tipped well, because they truly deserved it. The rooftop pool was another highlight. It was usually busy, but never overwhelming. We went several times, and we always found a chair or a couch to relax on. The staff at the food and beverage counter were friendly and efficient, but there were no poolside servers. Most mornings, we ate breakfast at Sobao, which is located at the front of the hotel, and you enter from outside. The food was delicious, and the dining room was always full and lively. The service was great, but they have two different lines depending on what you want to order, which was a little confusing. Unfortunately, we did have one experience that was disappointing. On Thursday, April 30, we tried to have dinner at La Bodeguita, the main on site restaurant. It was 8:30 p.m., and even though there were open tables, we were told we had to sit at the bar. The bartender gave us water and menus, then never returned to take our order. We saw him waiting on tables, checking his phone, and standing around, but he never came back. We were dressed for fine dining, so we didn't understand what the issue was. After almost twenty minutes, we left and went up to the rooftop restaurant, Bar C Lona. It was crowded, and there was only one bartender serving everyone, but she was friendly and working hard. The food was great, and we were glad the evening turned around after the issue at La Bodeguita. Overall, we were incredibly happy with the location of the hotel, the room layout, the housekeeping, the front desk staff, the rooftop pool, and Sobao. We were less happy with the poor service at La Bodeguita, the mandatory destination fee, the rooster wake up calls, and the thermostat restrictions. We would not rule out another stay at the AC Hotel Condado, because the pros outweighed the cons, but next time we will probably try either the San Juan Marriott Resort or the Courtyard by Marriott Miramar, mainly for their direct beach access. This review is meant to provide honest feedback about our experience, both to help future guests and to highlight areas where the hotel could improve.

I get to the hotel, some new girl named Marselles said she couldn't see my purchase and without my knowledge charged a card on file for the reservation again (I didn't notice this until I went upstairs). I immediately return to the lobby because I noticed I was charged twice and ALSO the room they initially assigned me smelled of mold and was never cleaned (juice stains everywhere and random hair pieces in the sink.) when I complained about the smelled Marceles stated the smell was common throughout the island. When I spoke to her in Spanish and said "no the fuck it's not.". She quickly got quiet because she assumed I was a first time tourist or something. But also who says that? I asked to have a manager escort me to the new room so that we can observe the cleanliness together. The manager apologized. I then asked about the duplicate charge and she promised to refund the money and repeatedly apologized, offering that Marselles was new and still needed training. Okay, whatever. I was only staying for one night. It doesn't end there. The next morning at around 8am, the cleaner knocks on the door like she was police and asked about cleaning. I said it was too early and that my checkout was later on in the day. She had attitude. The worst part about this is that the cleaners were blasting music up and down the hallways and when I showed the manager the video, she seemed shocked. But everything was " we never do this. This is the first time"...whatever. They had a nice bar on the rooftop but it was blasting cold air on a rainy night. It felt like an icebox. Bartender nice. She made nice mint juleps but the "Jack Daniels" bottle was filled with a different type of whiskey because it did NOT taste the same. I promise you. They didn't even acknowledge or include my Marriott Bonvoy membership. Because of the chaotic mess, the manager said she would waive the incidental and hotel fees and guess what, I was still charged that. I called Marriott so quickly and filed a report. Worst Marriott stay ever. Now I have to go through corporate to get a refund by sending emails and waiting on investigation to start. The room for one night was over $500. They charged me twice resulting in over $1000 for a hot mess of a stay.
