My seek button landed me on KTXI 90.1 and I listened to Texas Public Radio for an hour or so today. Interesting discussions of local, state-wide and national news including some chat about the Starbucks in San Antonio voting to unionize (good luck!) and some local politicians taking both sides of the redistricting maps. He helps bring back many wonderful memories of the music, parties and dances of the 60's. He shares great tidbits of information about the bands, singers and what was really going on back in the day. Tuning in to any of his programs is a real treat. The monthly Gonzaba breakfasts, the superdances, and other events are well planned, well attended and lots of fun. On a scale of 1-10 Henry Pepsi Penas shows and events are a 15+ and then some.

They rock it 24/7, but I think it might be online, and available at 99.9 FM or 1540 AM on the radio waves. I haven't been able to tune it in on smart speakers, which is inconvenient, but they still rock the Flaco Jiminez and Selena harder than any other radio station on the planet. They're the whole jalapeno! You can call them up and make requests! Be sure to check out the Pancho Pistolas Show in the mornings. There's so much accordion squeezin' on this station! It's awesome.

I'm just going to say I don't enjoy it like I use to. That's the sad truth. In the 80's it was everything you could ask for. Now its changed forever. Its not real bad. They still got some good songs. But would you actually call something from the mid 80's or early 90's oldies? I wouldn't. Not quite. Loved Kono at one time. & still listen to it today. It is free, and available in many of the same places that The Current is available. It does have easy to read articles about what's fun going on around town. The ads are nice, showcasing many of SA's high end clothing stores. I wish there was a magazine for men in San Antonio. In my mind, it'd be like mixing the Current, the SA Light, Maxim and Soldier of Fortune Magazine to make the perfect magazine. This magazine is more like they mixed Cosmo with Texas Monthly. I guess if this magazine doesn't cut it for you, it does make a good material to lay down on the ground when skinning a buck.
