The mmmmm TSA agent took my WHITE Portland Gear bag, and grabbed it with his FILTHY hands and said "this bag don't need bins." Um YES mmmmmmfffg it does. Instead I spent fifteen minutes cleaning my bag when I got home. Because it was covered in his filthy mmmmmmfffg fingerprints and ick. Thanks brah. The TSA line was long and the agents were RUDE. If you know me by now...I start all my reviews with 5 Stars and as the time Progresses; I am checking out the vibe, service, smells, friendliness of staff/ team and a whole lot of s stuff that you probably Never Never Ever think about . Our Late Night flight was packed as usual . I knew I should've upgraded my flight . By the time we boarded our flight ‍it was 9:10 pm; original flight time was 8:55. So Not so bad; I don't b darn that we sat on the runway for a minute (actually 10 - 15) but long enough. Flight full...just like I thought Babies crying you know the sometimes awful awful flights. B I N G O !!! The amount of time that I had to wait for my Brother ( cause I got TSA pre-) and he doesn't...SHEeeesh. That length of time took those 5stars to 4 in a flash. It was one of those days that you get in line, they redirect your line, and then the redirect it again in order to be most efficient only to watch the person who wasn't redirected at all in front of you get out of the line ten minutes earlier than you because they were just allowed to stay put. Frustrating, but that is life. Apathetic workers, but I would be, too, to be underpaid in a government job with cranky travelers all day. The signage is clear, it's easy to follow (although not as easy as it used to be), and it gets the job done. I have to admit, now that I've experiencing flying out of Midway, I feel like I may choose to fly in and out of Midway over O'Hare. I'm usually flying out of LAX so I don't believe finding flights will be an issue. Here's how my experience start off. Returning a rental car. Signage was easy to follow. Shuttle busses on a regular schedule and were clean and dropped off right at the terminal doors. Check in and TSA process was quick and easy. It was smooth sailing with friendly agents who were friendly and gave out clear and easy to follow instructions. The areas I wandered were clean and open. When I say areas - I did walk around shopping for last minutes trinkets and possibly food if something caught my eye. The gate area was as comfortable as can be. Power was available where I sat to charge my phone - I don't remember if there was power to charge a laptop though. It was such a hassle free experience that from now on, if and when I'm looking to fly in or out of Chicago, Midway will be my first choice I look at. I'm not entirely sure how you're supposed to rate a TSA checkpoint, but I'll say that it was fast. I am super happy now that they have Clear because they didn't for a number of years, and that really drove me nuts. So now because I have Clear and TSA Pre, the process is incredibly smooth. I would have given a 5 star review but after I paid $11.00 for a small bag of chips and a pack of gum!!!! Really ??? I know it's a airport, but damn !!! The people here a so nice and down to earth. I believe there is only 1 TSA security checkpoint, but it is so much more streamlined than LAX. They have 2 sections to enter: General Boarding on the left and TSA Pre-Check on the right. If you have clear, you go to the Pre-Check section and enter the middle aisle. Then a Clear agent will check you. The machines are basically self-service now. Then you can go to the Clear without Pre-Check (left) or Clear with Pre-Check (right). The clear agents were very nice and helpful, albeit a little rushed and hard to understand. When you get to the agent, make sure you look into the new cameras or they will tell you to step up. They will give you attitude if you don't. I wish LAX's security was this good. read more

Things went pretty well for my to be an airport. Everything was pretty easy to find I have no complaints.

I remember mdw being pretty fast. From the rental car return to getting a shuttle back to the terminal to being dropped off at whether north or south is pretty easy and stress free. One of the better airports/checkpoints. read more

Easy access at lower level after check in. The TSA and Clear checking are to right at bottom of escalators. Very efficient and fast. Lots of agents and no fuss. Recommend securing TSA precheck if you travel frequently. read more

TSA precheck agents here are a bunch of untrained morons who don't even know their own rules. Made my child, who has tsa pre check go through the regular security line because they did not have ID. ...,which they don't need as long as they are accompanied by a parent. They then flagged their bag and had it searched due to a 3 oz travel size toothpaste. Took forever due to undertrained agents. read more

It is not worth getting TSA pre anymore. Especially if you fly out of Midway, Chicago. Staff is RUDE and on their phones. They do not want to work. Refused to give you a bin for your things to go through the surveyor belt. All of our nice things get ruined. We fly out of here every week. read more

I was waiting at TSA, and was next in line, so I stepped up a little to the counter, but the last people were still straggling a little. the TSA person standing near the counter, said, "Pleass wait at something." I couldn't hear her because my hearing isn't the greatest. So I said, "what?" And she rudely yelled, "take a step back!" TSA can be so dependent on who you get at the counter and if you end up getting stopped and searched. I can only speak for my experience at this specific airport on the day I went through. The agent was courteous, the line moved super fast, I didn't get stopped and was in in the airport within 5 minutes! That's how the process should move, but these things can be hit or miss. I was traveling with other friends who did not have TSA and it took them quite a bit longer to get through the line. I was able to get food and go to the bathroom in the time it took them to meet me. So all in all, I would say it is worth it. read more

The airport was fine until the bag checking, i'm not a mean person, i would like to address that but the lady had an attitude with me since i got there and i didn't know I had to have my laptop outside of my bad since i've never been asked before and also I had water that i was fine throwing away. Unfortunately the lady was being plain rude and I could see her get visible annoyed which I understand, I was taking a minute, but at the same time just do your job, and respect everyone. She almost also made me walk back to throw out my water bottle, not letting go of my backpack until another one of her coworker told her that he's got it. Nasty nasty nasty. It's late and the TSA pre line is closed and the woman on aisle 7 yells at me for forgetting my iPad in my bag. I apologized and explained that normally I'm TSA pre so I don't have to but understand it has to come out here and she yells again and tells me that it always has to come out even when I'm TSA pre except we all know that's not true. I reminded her of that and she glared, help her hand up halting the conversation, turned her back to me and muttering to her equally charming co worker, she walked away. Do you look for nasty people to do this job? She was on aisle 6/7 at about 8:50pm on Tuesday, October 1st. Seriously, it's like she trained in Denver or something. I said I was sorry for a very simple mistake and she was gonna darn well punish me. My tax dollars hard at work making flying an even more pleasant experience than normal. read more

First off, if Chicago Midway isn't the single worst airport in the United States, it's certainly in the running. I encourage anyone reading this to research Midway online for yourself to see what I mean. Unfortunately, it's the only airport near my home, so I have to make the best of it. Anyway, when I opened my checked bag upon arriving home from a family visit, I discovered the contents of my bag in complete disarray. Oh, and a TSA "Notice of Baggage Inspection" note was sitting atop all the mess. It was immediately obvious that the TSA agent who inspected the bag showed no respect for my property whatsoever. There were a few fragile things that I intentionally packed between my clothes to cushion them and help ensure their safety. When I opened my bag, I saw that they were just carelessly thrown back inside by the agent. While the items were in tact, they now had wear and tear due to the TSA agent's negligence. The "Notice of Baggage Inspection" note states that random bags are selected for inspection "to protect you and your fellow passengers". I usually try to be understanding of TSA agents and the weight of their responsibilities. But concern for passenger safety is NOT a license to be disrespectful of passenger property. I have filed a complaint with TSA and await their reply. read more

Midway TSA is a joke and I won't be surprised if history repeats itself with 9/11 SMH. You're better off going to O'Hare. You have to walk in a pair with someone else down this walk way where 2 officers have dogs trying to sniff contraband out. They don't make you take off shoes, they don't have body scanners only metal detectors. I know for damn sure they didn't properly check my bag. I had my backpack in a carry on and it wasn't searched. The TSA checkpoint at Midway on 7/29/23 sound 5:00 am were absolutely horrible. I was flying with my family which included 3 young children. It took forever to get to the actual TSA window where a extremely rude young lady told one of my adult daughters that something was wrong with her boarding pass. we had used curbside checking and they were the ones that had printed out the pass. Even though a number of other passengers just of ahead of us had also had the same issue with their passes. They made her go back to the ticketing area and get another boarding pass which meant that she almost missed the flight. My daughter with the children was pulled aside by a TSA supervisor and both her and myself were told to get that "look" off of our faces" . I tried to tell them that we were all just tired. That's when he told me to shut up. Gotta love those power hungry TSA people. read more

Let's be honest, I hate going through security at the airport. However, they seemed very professional, fast and nice. It's much easier going to Midway than it is going to O'Hare. The lines were not as long as O'Hare and it went pretty quickly. If you get the pre check (service you have to apply and pay for before flying), then it goes very quickly. A super sweet lady with a snoopy lanyard informed us that the travel agent who booked our flight got my birthday wrong and sent us upstairs to get it fixed and a new ticket printed. Lady who helped us upstairs was stellar and so efficient in fixing the problem. Waited in TSA line again and got up to the different TSA agent, held out my ID for him and clearing displayed the error slip on top of the newly printed ticket. I was about to explain that we had just got back from upstairs, the birthday should be right now, there had been on my earlier ticket. He just held my ID and stared me down like a whole minute without scanning it or looking anything up. I asked if something else was wrong, we had just fixed it. And he responded with a smirk, "but did you really? Are you sure you didnt just hop into another line to avoid going upstairs?" I was like, we JUST came from upstairs, you can look it up if there's an error. He said "a lot of people just go and sit in a corner for 30 minutes and then try again instead of getting their ticket fixed." He started scanning my ID, "oh look at that, it went through." Well, duh. Because we fixed the problem after being informed there was a problem. Overall he was very rude to me, off the bat accusatory instead of helpful. Didn't bother to do his job before adding stress to an already stressful situation in a busy airport. And when he finally looked up my ticket after holding up the line for several minutes and saw that there was no error, he didn't even apologize. His attitude was as if he had caught me doing something wrong when i was just trying to get on my scheduled flight. read more

This is my wife's review of what her and our daughter went through last night.......TSA at the Frontier checkpoint should all be fired. They are rude, racist and pick on people. So many people in front of us were not checked what so ever but we were held and checked for so long, my daughter and I , I never went through that anywhere at any airport ever, like we were drug dealers. Yelling at us, back and forth, grabbing and touching....Frontier is a joke as well. It was an invasion of my body how they touched me and joked under their breath. Every time I go through TSA checkpoint I flashback to every prison documentary I've ever watched in which new arrivals are being herded through like cattle whilst being shouted at and demeaned. Today, while in line, the first agent counted off 4 of us and shouted "you four, over there!" Pointing to a different line. As we calmly obeyed her command she felt it necessary to throw in an extra "go!" Bitch please, it's 5:30 am, I'm moving as fast as I can at that disgraceful hour. "Pissy asshole" must be the number one criteria employees must meet to get hired. In addition, today I wore a sweater with shiny thread that set off the scan and earned me a full body, crotch and all, pat down. Whenever I go to any TSA checkpoint in the U.S., I always hope for the best and quickest line. Sometimes we're fortunate, but for the most part the lines are quite long. Last Saturday at Midway Airport, we got very lucky! The main line was very very very loooong!!! We were directed to a much shorter line which bypassed dozens of folks. I felt like a VIP!! Ended up taking about 5 minutes going through security instead of a minimum of 45 minutes. TSA line was short and mostly smooth ..My scan showed a groin alarm ( as did the teenage girls begging me which I find weird ) I said I'd had a hip replacement , wax told different area .. that's cool Needs compete inappropriate pat down okay . The TSA attendant who pulled me aside on my way from Chicago to Las Vegas was very polite and professional. However, the policy she was enforcing is a joke. The xray machines scanning my carry-on detected my knockoff Alexander McQueen handbag and the attendant confiscated it as "brass knuckles". OK. I guess I can't really argue that. It would have just ended up as a charming anecdote until I saw a similar item for sale in the Las Vegas airport. IN the AIRPORT. As in, past the TSA. As in, anyone could purchase these "brass knuckles" and take them on the plane. They should review their policy to make sure they're not confiscating items that are sold elsewhere throughout the airport. (see photos) read more

If you have an early morning flight be sure to know that the TSA check point opens sometime after 3:30a (so if you have a 5a fight, don't go early). The lines are long and they aren't terribly efficient no matter when we get there. They need to work on timing, efficiency and well everything. Just be prepared to wait. read more

I would avoid this checkpoint if only it were possible. I really disliked the intrusive and direct violation of my 4th amendment constitutional rights by being searched without probable cause, and not being able to move freely without going through the invasive processes of "security screening".
