I'm not sure why anyone who flies more than occasionally wouldn't get TSA precheck. It's so nice not to have to remove your shoes, jackets, liquids, etc when going through security at any airport. Now I realize the Buffalo airport isn't exactly JFK or LAX but at times it does get busy. So why wait in line with 100+ people when you can go through the TSA line. On a recent trip out of the Buffalo airport, we had to go through TSA Security. We have TSA Pre-Check and always proper identification such as our Passport Books or Passport Cards. TSA Pre-Check means we don't have to remove shoes, belts or liquids from our bags. In the excitement of flying through security, I forgit to tell them I have an artificial knee. Of coutse I set off the alarms on the metal detectors. If I would have told them ahead of time I would have simply gone directly through the full body scanner. But as a punishment for not warning them, I had to completely empty my pockets and take off my shoes. I still set off the alarm but for my belt buckle. They wanded me and did a pat down then I was on my way. Lesson learned. read more

Hey, as a private citizen of the USA I believe loving your country means saying something when it's going amiss. I understand that in the days after 9/11 everyone was nervous about flying, and the Shoe Bomber a few months later heightened the fears. Then there was the Underwear Bomber in 2012, and now we're all obliged to stand barefoot in a sensor with our arms above our heads. Now, billions of travellers have had their Constitutional rights erroded, including the cute doggies police use to sniff us and our luggage. It's "Unreasonable search". Further, wither the TSA Pre check and CLEAR programs, there's a two-tier system for travellers: If you can afford to spend extra money for the CLEAR programs ($199 per year for the first family member/ $119 for every family member thereafter). It's designed for business travellers. The most disturbing aspect of the program in regards to travel is the collection of biometric measurements and tying them to both credit card and physical address, proved by driver's license. read more

I've been through this checkpoint multiple times with ease. They ask the standard questions, there's also a tsa pre-check and clear now rows. In my experience, there has never been much of a wait so I don't pay extra for quicker clearance. You have to take off your shoes, be sure to read up on what items you are allowed on your carry on and have a safe flight! read more

I have mix feelings about this review. I love having TSA and the benefits of having the service. So I want to encourage everyone to get the service, but would that effect my fast processing time through the checkpoint? Maybe, maybe not.. ok it's decided. I was pulled for a pat down, and have extreme issues with being touched by anyone. the TSA officers did nothing to make me feel comfortable. They made it seem like I was being arrested for wearing a hoodie. absolutely disgusting communication between all of the officers to force multiple pat downs on people due to the lack of communication of procedure, which is apparently ever changing. 0 stars to this terrible TSA program. read more

It was smooth sailing through the TSA line until we realized we were in the wrong line. We quickly found the correct line as we missed the TSA sign. Suggestion #1 read the signage correctly to avoid this mishap. The Buffalo International airport has convenient gas stations at the airport exit. Some of their restaurants are still closed because of covid and they require mask wearing inside the airport. Also the Priority Club closes at 5pm. read more

This TSA line is rarely busy. The times it is busy, the line still moves quick. The setup is super straight forward unlike other airports. Every agent I've dealt with is always friendly as well. Flying usually stresses me out, but Buffalo's airport and TSA does not factor into the stress of travelling. read more

Not the worst but not the best either. We went through the checkpoint with 4 other people. I don't know if they were just not busy or not have a great day but we all had to go through the padded search. The were definitely took there time check us all in. They knew what they were doing but didn't seem to want to be there on a Sunday afternoon. But I guess it is our safety what matters most. read more

I have traveled extensively and without a doubt, the TSA at Buffalo Niagra airport is by far staffed with the rudest agents. As I have family in the area I frequently fly through the area. They treat flyers with such disrespect and animosity I am always left shaking my head. Today, for example, the agent apparently did not want someone's shoes in a bin. Instead of telling the person to take their shoes out, she picked up the bin and dumped the shoes out onto the belt. Not a big thing but it was the lack of respect for someone else's belongings and the enjoyment she got from doing it just because she could that was alarming. One of the shoes fell to the ground and the woman traveler had to retrieve it and as she was older it flustered her. No reason for that behavior. It was early, not a busy time and even if it was, a little respect can go a long way. read more

Had a great and FAST experience. I have TSA prechevk and barely had to pause while getting through. This airport is small so be aware it can stack up quickly. Plenty of fast food options. read more

TSA at Buffalo has greatly improved over the years - the days of those long lines are hopefully in the past. However, every once in awhile you might run into that grumpy or less trained officer who should probably take a few more classes, but overall - I normally do not have problems here any more! Best advice for me is to pack your stuff in a very organized manner - the more you take pride in packing the easier it is for them to see what's in your luggage and the quicker you get through the screening. Please don't give them a hard time and PLEASE don't try to get 16 ounces of your shampoo through - they will spot that every time - a bottle of water - no way - another easy catch. Exploding underwear - well that won't show up nearly as quickly as a bottle of cologne or perfume - so make sure you don't have anything in there expensive as they will take it - I mean they have Christmas gifts to get too! read more
