Overall - this a good airport compared to others. For my fellow US travelers, the process is a bit different than US airports. First, if you're flying domestic - you won't have an ID check until you actually board your flight. If you're traveling to the US - you will clear US Customs and Border Protection here at YYZ. This is awesome because you don't have to wait in the long arrival lines in the US. If you have Nexus or Global Entry - the experience will be even quicker! In most of my experiences here, the security line moves fast - but the actual screening is slow. Not sure how that makes sense, but it's been my experience. If your luggage gets marked for secondary inspection, that process can be slow. While doing intra-Canada travel yesterday, the secondary screening added an additional 25 minutes for me. Today, the process was a bit faster. Once in the secure area, there is plenty of shopping and there are plenty of lounges. Now go get some maple syrup and poutine, eh! read more

Toronto Pearson might just be the worst airport I have been to in any 1st world country. The terminal is consistently dirty. The bathrooms are in disrepair. The terminal is huge, the signage is terrible and the customer service from those who work there is, well, to be blunt, non-existent. I know it must be hard to operate a big airport. But, if New York or Chicago or Amsterdam or Mexico City (or any city really) can do better than you, take it to heart that you need some serious retraining and upgrading. If I ever have to travel to Toronto again, I will try and fly into the little airport just off the downtown area in the lake. I've been to T3 so many times to pick-up people, I pretty much know this place inside out lol. Parking garage level 3 section C is your best friend... even though, technically section E seems "closer" to T3 international arrivals, but you can't access the bridge unless you are at section C. There are usually A LOT of people waiting at the arrivals; it's a great spot for people-watching, and can see how people react when they are reunited. You will notice people who are anxious, excited, stressed, happy, and all the mixed emotions in between ^^ There is a convenient store that sells snacks, miscellaneous, balloons and flowers. Further down, there is a Tim Hortons (there is always a short line of people). Not much at T3 but it serves its purpose :p read more

USA BAG DROP OFF - all pelican cases are "oversized" and are scanned separately through their machine just past the bag drop line. - the bag drop off line is just before you enter the security checkpoint. PRO TIP Have your passport out of its case, with a boarding pass tucked in the page your photo is on. BAG PICKUP You'll go through customs THEN get your bags on the arriving end. Every few months, I fly into Toronto Pearson International Airport. This is to visit family though occasionally I have a work conference there, too. I typically fly in and out of Terminal 3 when I fly American Airlines though on the rare occasion, I instead fly Air Canada and travel in and out of Terminal 1. I often find myself renting a vehicle, speeding through customs and security, and enjoying airport lounges. I interact with a lot of the airline staff in Toronto, which is probably why I find their current slogan and campaign "I am Toronto Pearson" to be very kind and considerate as it focuses on the people working at the airport. Unlike friends who absolutely hate flying, I enjoy the travel experience, especially when using some helpful tools like Nexus, airport lounge membership, and airline status, all of which I was able to enjoy during my Toronto airport visits. When checking in, I was able to skip the check-in area if I didn't need to check bags (as I checked in online) on one of my trips, and then this most recent time, I checked in at the priority area for assistance and checking bags. I then went to the Terminal 3 check-in and used Nexus to go through to the expedited part of the Security line (which also works if someone has Global Entry). I also found that it was easy to navigate the car rental area from exiting the customs and baggage claim areas to walking to the appropriate rental car areas. I did have to learn the hard way that some rental car companies may confuse your arrival between Terminals 1 and 3, and then you may need to take the shuttle between the terminals. I have also taken the UP Express train from the airport to the Downtown Toronto area. As for the dining and shopping options, there are 87 dining options and 63 shopping options the airport, many of these in Terminal 3. As for lounges, I usually frequent the Admirals Club and Plaza Premium Lounge at the Terminal 3 TransUSA border gates (A gates) though there are many other lounges at the airport including the KLM Crown Lounge, Maple Leaf Lounge, and Rogers Passenger Pods. There certainly is something for everyone. If you have an American Express Platinum card, you can receive complimentary Valet Care Service at Terminal 1, and if you use your Platinum card to pay for parking at the Express Park in Terminal 1 and Daily Park in Terminals 1 and 3, you get a 15% discount on parking rates as a statement credit. You can also receive Priority Security Lane access for you and each of your accompanying guests. Platinum Card members can also enjoy a 15% discount on Car Care services from Toronto Pearson's quality car cleaning and detailing service, available in Terminal 1. All in all, it's a good airport, and throughout my regular trips to Toronto, I have gotten into my routine for my check-in experience, customers/security, shopping, lounges, and flights. I used this terminal for my departure with British Airways. There is a small food court, Tim Hortons ( doesn't accept Tim rewards), some full service bar/restaurant around the waiting area. I sat around the one tables surrounding the bar. The floor was so dirty with food and garbage. There's no one around to clean up after each table. Aside from that, you have access to free wifi, washrooms, water bottle filling station. The prices for the food are pretty high so be ready to spend around $20-$30 for a basic meal unless you eat at Tim Hortons. The terminal needs updating and better restaurants for patrons. read more

We had less than an hour to make our connecting flight. We were directed to connecting flight customs, scanned our passports & boarding passes, took a photo and were done in minutes. There were moving sidewalks that wisked us through the terminal. There was a line out the door for the priority lounge. There were lots of good food options. The airport is clean modern and everything is well marked & clearly identified. Announcements, signs and menus were in both French and English. Recommended was Twist by a famous chef Roger Mooking. There were fast food restaurants, a brewery, Tim Hortons, and even Shawarma. There were lots of seats at our gate and there were even chargers & plugs to charge up our cell phones. I've been to Toronto many times but I've never flown here until today. This large international airport is 14 miles from downtown Toronto & accessible by train. It was named in honor of Lester B. Pearson, who served as the 14th Prime Minister of Canada in the 1960's & won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1957 for humanitarian work in peacekeeping. Pearson is the hub for Air Canada & WestJet. It is the largest & busiest airport in Canada, with over 44.8 million passengers in 2023, it's one of the world's busiest. It opened in 1938 & has expanded to 3 terminals. There is also a vip terminal here with a 24/7 concierge, private customs & immigration facilities, personalized catering, showers & ground transportation services. read more

I honestly rarely use this flight terminal at Toronto Pearson, but it does happen. And it is okay but not outstanding. It definitely doesn't have as much as the main Terminal 1 but at the same time it has improved over time compared to years before so I'll just call it okay in general. I'm probably in Toronto Pearson approximately annually at this stage (some years more than others of course) and it is just about what I expect: annoying and occasionally slow (especially if connecting to the USA) but no worse than many other airports in North America I guess. read more

I rarely depart from or arrive at Toronto Pearson's Terminal 3. I recently flew out of Terminal 3 because I had a flight that was technically on WestJet, but cross-listed with Delta. Both airlines fly out of and arrive at Terminal 3. My trip was extremely last-minute for me. It all worked out. Everything about getting to the Twin Cities was not the norm for me. Before my trip, I had last been at Terminal 3 nearly a decade ago. I was on a WestJet flight to and from Las Vegas. I frankly didn't recognize a lot of this terminal. The Sheraton hotel is still there. The glass ceiling that's slanted against a domed roof was the same. Everything else was unfamiliar to me. I had no problem checking into a WestJet kiosk. Each step to process whatever information that I had entered was slow. I don't know if that's a WestJet problem or a network problem at the airport. The luggage dropoff area was also unclear to me for WestJet US flights. The dropoff closest to the check-in kiosk that I was at weren't for me. It's the set closer to the security area that worked like a charm. I will say that there are less process obstacles at Terminal 3. When you check in to a US flight with WestJet, you upload your proof of vaccination. You're done. You do not need to show a human at security proof that you are indeed vaccinated. At Terminal 1, you still need to show said document to a human before you enter security, even after you have shown it to an Air Canada agent or have uploaded it when you are checking in online. So inefficient. It was a faster process going through security and US customs. I was impressed. Perhaps it's because the volume of travellers at Terminal 3 isn't as crazy as Terminal 1. There is a tradeoff, though. There aren't as many eateries or places to shop at this terminal like you do at Terminal 1. However, there are some good eats. There is a small food hall. I ate lunch at Cluny Grille and had an excellent experience. The food was tasty and I could relax in a food court-like setting. Most staff at this terminal were friendly. Mad props go to the woman at one of the convenience stores. I had no idea how to get from an A gate to a B gate. She let me know that there's a glass door at gate A13 that allows you to switch over to the B gates. She was helpful. Sadly, by the time I got to my B gate, my gate had changed to an A one. Ugh! A woman at the Delta check-in counter was not the friendliest, though. I will give her the benefit of the doubt that she was having a rough day, although I feel that she is naturally a not-so-nice person to begin with. Signage needs a bit of help. Otherwise, the terminal was clean and I conducted a decent self-guided walking tour to figure out where things are. I get to revisit this terminal again soon. It's growing on me. (159) read more

Toronto Pearson International Airport is a big airport with plenty of parking. The staff are plentiful and ready to assist to you. Nexus and Amex Platinum are great to bypass long lines. This is one the fastest TSA I've experienced. The gates have plenty of seating. The international lounge is much better than the domestic lounge. Many restaurants and shops located inside. Be smart and always give yourself extra time. read more

I approached the counter to order, showing a coupon for my order. My order was taken and when coming time to pay I was informed the coupon I had was not valid due to the location not having the proper equipment to scan the coupon. I was asked to download their Subway app and make the purchase online to get the discount. First of all, there is absolutely No signage stating they cannot accept cupons, secondly, I had shown the coupon while placing my order with no mention of not being able to accept the coupon and thirdly I only had enough cash on me to cover this meal, and fourthly, I was on a time crunch and unable to add more time to download their app and place my order through the app. So they decide to either discard the meal which was already made, or give it away,( I cannot imagine they would attempt to resale the meal.. but then again, you never really know ), as opposed to offering some other form of discount and informing me not to let this happen again, I work in the area of this location after this experience I will no longer be a customer of them. I advise all travelers to be aware and verbally ask any questions Before placing your orders. I am extremely disappointed in this locations customer service. read more

SECURITY "STOP TOUCHING SOMEONES ELSE BABY" October 20, 2024 Arrivals (Domestic Flight) 12:00pm-2:00pm While waiting for our luggage our check-in carseat is missing. While sitting in front of the conveyer, I searched for flairs contact information so we can contact them about our missing car seat. While I was busy I heard someone talking to my infant and it was a security officer. When I looked, I saw her touching my son's face. I called her out right away saying to stop touching my son's face. She answered me back saying that she wasn't touching blah blah blah, basically lying in front of my face. "FYI! There is a CCTV". After stoping her from touching my son's face she told me I shouldn't be there. And she was being aggressive because I argued with her on not touching my baby. And I'm waiting for our luggages as well as this was happening. She should be doing her job instead of talking/playing with other peoples baby and touching their faces without the parents consent which puts the baby at risk of getting sick. read more

I normally travel through terminal 1 so I was anticipating getting a nice cleansing smoothie at Booster Juice and a donut at Tim Hortons before I leave but... then I find out my flight is actually departing from terminal 3. If terminal 1 is the Promise Land, then I must say terminal 3 is the wilderness. I was somewhat disappointed with the food choices in this terminal but thankfully, there's Freshii and the price was decent! I highly recommend grabbing a bite from there. Aside from that, terminal 3 is not as busy as terminal 1. Going through security and customs was super smooth without a hitch. In fact, some of the workers were sooooo chilll that they were just standing or sitting around waiting for passengers to go through. So, if you know your flight is leaving from terminal 3, I definitely recommend packing a meal that you could enjoy while you wait for you flight. Bon voyage! :) read more

Since Westjet has cancelled their direct flight from Montreal to Las Vegas (and from Las Vegas back to Montreal), I often have a stopover/transfer at Toronto's Pearson airport during my Las Vegas trips. Toronto's Pearson airport is similar to Montreal's Trudeau airport (and other airports). It is a lot larger than Montreal's Trudeau airport so there is a lot more walking/running in order to get to your gate. My complaint about Toronto's Pearson Airport (Terminal 3) is that they have chairs at the gate which have AC outlets on them and when I wanted to use the AC outlet attached to the bottom of the chair, they didn't seem to work. I verified that the chair was plugged into the wall outlet (which it was) and the only thing which seemed to work was the USB charging port which I didn't need for my laptop. I also wouldn't trust direct USB charging stations as a matter of security/privacy with my mobile devices. I tried a few of these chairs at my gate and the AC outlets didn't work on any of them. Also, when arriving back from Las Vegas and going through the Canadian Customs machine for Nexus travelers, only one machine worked. :-( I didn't deduct anything for this since I'm sure that this is with all Canadian stopovers/transfers and not limited to just Toronto's Pearson airport but I wish going through Canada Customs as a stopover/transfer didn't require having to go through airport security again. By this, I mean I arrive in Toronto from Las Vegas and I go to Canada Customs where I have to declare my items. After going through Canada Customs, I have to line up and go through airport security again and then once passing airport security I have to try to make it to my gate for my flight back to Montreal. The WiFi worked fine when I was there and didn't require any "complicated" registration process or entering an email address. read more

The airport is definitely a bit confusing for me and also my uber driver. The good part is that the train was easy to find and quick when transferring between terminal 3 and 1. Security and airport police were friendly when helping me find my correct terminal, so don't be afraid to ask for help. read more

At arrivals and baggage claim, there's a lot of free charging stations along the way but it can be confusing which way public transportation is that isn't a train because those are separate signs. Everyone seems very friendly though if help was needed. read more
