That's understandable as of all the construction. Everyone had use arrivals lane and wait on the elevator almost 30 minutes to get to departure level.. I found the airline check in area organized and easy to navigate thru. Now TSA at this terminal is like a Abbot and Costello routine. They seem not be coordinated or can work as a unit. It's never a pre-check line always told is a staffing issue. After 10 years you think they have resolved how rotate or reassign staff based on flight demands. The bathrooms are the worse I have seen. Extremely small stall luggage barely fits. I saw no bidets that most international Asian and Middle East airports have even if domestic. The waiting gate area needs more power ports. They also need replace seating that's worn and peeling. If you want to have world class facilities and be the face of NY or even US they need to go look at Incheon ,Hong Kong,Dubai ,or Singapore as example of a quality and classy terminal. You are not charged for luggage cars, floors are spotless, waiting areas are not plan or blah, and decent shopping and food offerings.

Since JetBlue is JFK's flagship airline, I expected the terminal to be a pretty smooth experience, but the airport itself was a little overwhelming. The biggest issue for me was the lines. They were REALLY long, & I was disappointed that the accessibility line had to wait in the regular line. I'm not saying I'm supposed to get VIP treatment b/c I'm disabled, but waiting in such a long line was def difficult. Thank God I was w/ an attendant pushing me in a wheelchair, b/c @ least I didn't have to stand the entire time, (but it was still a long wait). I felt bad for the attendant(let alone myself) for having to deal w/ it. I want to make it clear that this wasn't JetBlue's fault(it was JFK).I'm not used to having that kind of experience @ the airport, especially when it comes to accessibility, so it def caught me off guard.

I took a photo of the exterior today as it was the first time seeing the TWA terminal from the outside. That's right, the TWA terminal. It was a terminal that was shut down and later turned into a retro terminal with a midcentury themed hotel connected to it. I highly recommend stopping in, it's very cool.

Fuel is among the most affordable (though still expensive) of nearby FBOs, especially 100LL. Overnight parking is free with a 15 gallon fuel purchase. Sweet! They even have a free shuttle that will take you to a bus stop (or hotel) that can take you into the city if you prefer. The facilities are wonderful, with an exercise deck, conference room and even a movie Theater. The only reason they don't get 5-stars is that I had an issue with a battery discharging and needed them to take out the battery and charge it up for an hour. They charged me for 1.5hours of labor to simply take the battery out and charge it. The only labor involved was removing the battery and reinstalling it (10 minutes), while they left it to charge on a machine. I did not think it was fair for them to charge me for the 1.5hours of labor, unless they were literally on a treadmill charging it. If you need maintenance service, watch out for the high shop rates; but if you're looking to park here - Meridian is definitely one of the best choices at TEB.

It underwent a major modernization from 2021 to 2023, some of which we felt the last time my wife and I were in New York in 2023. This time it felt a lot smoother, with security being a lot smoother. The major carrier in Terminal 4 is Delta, which meant there was a large Sky Club located within walking distance. There is a lot of real estate here, thus having the space for other airport lounges as well, including the AMEX Centurion and Chase Sapphire. The gates are pretty spaced apart, requiring a bit of a walk to get between them. There are moving walkways throughout to help in this regard. JFK is the example I like to use when documenting the difference between terminals and concourses at a major airport. Currently (2026), JFK is continuing its massive construction projects, with two terminals being rebuilt (thus closed): Terminal 1 and Terminal 6. To get between these terminals require the AirTrain. Within a terminal, are various wings (or concourses). So for a large airport like Detroit, there are 2 terminals, but in reality, only one of them matter for most travelers, it's the number of concourses within the main terminal that matters. And when planning for travel, a connection between terminals is going to take a long time whereas between concourses should not. LAX is the outlier...boasting of its 8+ terminals...but in reality, outside of LA, it's really a 1 terminal airport with 8+ concourses.
