I love coming to this part of town for local food, and amazing views. Although tsunami does not have great views, the food certainly makes up for it. I ordered the lunch special, fried fish and it was the best fried fish I've ever had. It had flavor, this is not just some sub par fried fish with bland taste! The mofongo is the best I've had on the island! Don't skip the hot sauce, or the Mojo de Ajo! Chef makes fresh. The staff was excellent, and was super friendly! The food took about 20-25 mins but once I had my bite, I could see why. Everything is fresh and made in the kitchen in Puerto Rico! I love it. Don't judge the book by its cover is what I always say. I always look to see how many locals are in the restaurant before I commit. I've made the mistake of trying a new place because it looks awesome from the outside and well decorated inside. The atmosphere is vibrant and cheerful. The servers are very good and knowledgeable about the menu. I ordered the tsunami Burger OMG so good. Family ordered octopus salad and the other one mahi mahi fish tacos. The food was hot and was quick the kitchen chef definitely knows what they are doing. Our waitress chaderline was awesome. Absolutely disgusting. The wait for food was ridiculously long, and while we were stuck there starving, rats were literally running around the restaurant. Not a one-time thing--multiple rats. If you can't serve food on time or keep rodents out of your dining room, you shouldn't be open. Do yourself a favor and eat somewhere else. read more

This place never disappoints. Food is always amazing, cocktails are good and service is awesome. 3.5/5 stars -- My friends and I dropped by for dinner and the vibes are great for groups who want to watch sports and eat good food. We were seated immediately because it was only half full, but we had to wait a really long time for our food so we were all really hungry, but it's probably because we were a group of nine. The waiter was super friendly though! I split a seafood mofongo and fish kebabs + tostones with a friend. The mofongo was really scrumptious -- highly recommend! The plantains were so good and filling. It was a little pricey ($28) but you can definitely split it with someone if you add a small appetizer on the side. The fish kebabs were a huge disappointment though which is why I could only give them 3.5 stars. The fish was bland and really chewy and dry. We had a hard time finishing the large pieces of fish. The tostones were good though. My other friends raved over the fish tacos though so I would probably recommend that? Heads up, it's located right next to a really loud street so be prepared for loud honks, party buses, and motorcycles going by. read more

My first experience w queso frito was here. The love affair begins. I must say, the guava sauce doesn't pair well for me, so I was given marinara. Now it's perfect! I came here a few times over my stay here. The burger quickly became a go too. Even the fries were amazing. The flavor came through in every one. Came here once and sat at the bar waiting for food, had the best I believe it was a passion fruit what beer. So good! I was just shocked to find how small the shots were lol. But that could be a mainland problem w big everything, including drinking issues lol. Once my host ordered the fish taco's but I was stuck in the burger, queso frito w/marinara, and their wings were pretty tasty too. They do close around 10, and NOT midnight, but I couldn't find anything open past 11, and that's ok too. If I wanted things open all times of the day, I could go to San Juan or back home lol. My boyfriend and I came here after an afternoon on the beach in Isabela, PR. This place is fantastic! The servers are lovely, and the food is delicious. We ordered sorrullos maíz and canastilla spicy crab to start. The sorrullos were fried perfectly and sweet. The canastita spicy crab was yummy. The spicy crab was fresh! My boyfriend ordered the mofongo de mar/tierra. He ate the whole thing; he just wished he asked for the sauce on the side. I ordered the chillo entero. The fish was good, about a pound. Overall fresh, delicious food with friendly people. I will come again and try the drinks next time! read more

Nice open air restaurant and bar right across from the beach. Food and service were very good. Would definitely visit again and recommend to my friends visiting the area. 'outdoors' but fully covered. hard chairs or benches. good / friendly service. couple of good things about it: 1. we were able to get a seat, where a lot of other places around the beach (especially after everyone is done swimming / surfing) are CROWDED with poor service or no food or "kitchen backed up" 2. price for the quality and quantity was reasonable. not cheap by any means (though the local beer was $3) , but reasonable for the touristy beach location. We had camarone cocktail (just cold shrimp, no tomato liquid like you get in a mexican restarant), camarone pasta (good amount of shrimp, basic pasta) and cheese burger and fries (decent american style). Definitely go if you want food quick and want it now! read more

Not great - let's just say fish was so so and the service was terrible . Pretty much a bad experience. I don't make this review as a statement to prevent people from going there. Instead I offer my opinion as a cautionary note to customers and perhaps a learning experience for the managers to get it right . I've been in many eateries throughout the last 38 years in Isabela Puerto Rico, so this is sad to have a perfect good location when a perfectly delicious fish joint is replaced by this type of over hyped fish establishment that doesn't offer FRESH FISH. Come on. You're right on the shore. Let's talk about staff- I tried to not get annoyed after I had to go to the bar 4 times in 1/2 hour to ask to please take my order when they kept saying I'll send someone over. Who ? There were two gals as servers in an EMPTY lunch hour 12-3 and only one set of customers Taft sat at bar - yes the gal servers are cute and it enriches the atmosphere but they shouldn't be in customer facing environments because I am not worthy of their time. I was patient and polite due to the fact that I had no pressing engagements. I merely hoped for a moment of quite and peace - but when I'm repeatedly asking calmly to have my order taken and ignored in an empty restaurant I wonder if these ladies gave preferential treatment to the guys they were serving or if something else is wrong with the kitchen that they couldn't take my lunch order while I'm sitting down. I have been coming to the Jobos beach area for over 16 years and only stopped for quick street food - this time Husband said let's get a drink, sit and eat. Tsunami had plenty of parking and being mid week with some rain that chased people off the beach we pretty much had the place to ourselves. Our server was super nice and gave suggestions - Husband had a regular mojito and I had the coconut mojito. Bam! These drinks were strong and refreshing. Then to start we shared the octopus salad - tender and full of fresh flavors. Husband had the steak with chimichuri sauce and sweet plantains. I had the mofungo with shrimp in a garlic sauce. If I could give this place a 0 star I would. This place was HORRIBLE. the waitress was super rude!! We were a party of 8. She didn't give everyone their drinks , she put them all i front of one of us and we had to pass them to each other. The food was absolutely DISGUSTING!!!!! I ordered a mofongo, it had bits of ham or bacon. I don't know. Someone in our party had churrasco which he sent back twice bc it wasn't cooked correctly. Really awful food, long wait, credit card machine that didn't work, and lovely server who probably couldn't control any of that.

Went with my family for dinner and the waitress was soaking the chairs and saying with a bad attitude that groups of 10 or more was 1 ticket. Which we didn't have a problem but we did with the attitude. We ended up leaving. So I can't comment on the food. read more

Our server was fantastic! She was attentive and quick to explain something we didn't understand on the menu. Our group had paella, monfongo, and a lot of rice and beans and everything was absolutely delicious! The plantains (both sweet and regular) were delicious as well! We got to this establishment and ordered a drink the lady said she did not know how to make it but she believes she can. The drink were not perfect but we agreed to keep it anyway. Everywhere else in the neighborhood sells the same drink for about $8 she charged us $15 each which we know was a rip off and then proceeded to ask for it in cash what this tells me is she planned on pocketing the cash. Everything we ordered was amazing! Starters were Shrimp soup and spicy crab stuffed yucca cups and even the nachos were super yummy with steak white cheese and crisp, fresh fried chips. Main courses of skirt steak, rice and beans and sweet fried plantains were wonderful . The kids had fresh limeade and my parcha (passion fruit) mojito was perfect. People here are great. Seat yourself and someone came to give you a menu quickly. Food was okay, not the best. Rice was hard and the beans made it more moist. Not super detailed in their menu and don't elaborate when you order something. Sister got a dish and wasn't aware it was bacon wrapped which she doesn't eat. Had a traditional mojito which was good. The guy behind the bar brought us our menus soon as we sat down, gave us the special of the day, drink recommendation etc. He wasnt pushy just informative! He spoke spanish as well as perfect English. Now to the food- I ordered mofongo with shrimp in the garlic sauce and it was so delicious.
