"You got it and I want it You got the flavor and I really need it, girl" (New Kids on the Block) Tu Sabor Colombiano translates into "Your Columbian Flavor", and their menu takes you deep into the realm of Columbian cuisine and their native flavors. I saw plenty of dishes with unfamiliar names like Buenolos, Papas Locos, Picada, Arepa, and Bandeia Paisa. Some of the more familiar offerings were chicharron, empanada, and ceviche. So, if you're familiar with what their website promises to be "authentic flavors of Colombia" you'll feel right at home here. If not, you might want to practice your Google Translation skills. After quite a bit of deliberation, I chose their Ceviche Chicharron ($13) for lunch. It was a beautiful bowl of onions, lemon juice, avocado, corn and pork bellies served with plantain chips. What a dish! It was bursting with different textures and flavors- the lemon juice, the corn kernels, the crunchy onions and pork, the creamy avocado and those big addictive plantain chips. I love how Parkville Market has so many different ethnic food vendors and offers guests the opportunity to try out something different. My introduction to Columbian foods was a very flavorful success.

This was part of the Parkville market. They had a number of different Colombian options to choose from. Most of the items also appeared to be made to order, which was nice to see. I tried the pollo desmechado ($10). It was a corn cake with shredded chicken along with vegetables and cheese. There was also a small cup of salsa provided. This was not too bad. It was very flavorful with a lot incorporated including the vegetables and cheese presence. The heat on the salsa that was provided enhanced the overall corn cake and filling. Will I go back? Probably.

Today was the official Grand Opening for the new Parkville Market Colombian food vendor -- Tu Sabor Colombiano. They have arepas, empanadas, and a few other entrees and apps. I ordered a Colombian style chicken empanada, and a Carne Desmachada Arepa. The empanada was golden and had great outer texture. The filling was part chicken and part potato. It was mildly flavored. Kind of reminded me of the comfort of chicken noodle soup, but in empanada form. I'm no expert on arepas, but I thought it was good. The corn cake portion of the arepa was gigantic. It was filled with shredded beef, queso, onions and peppers. Good flavor. Good texture. Nice addition to Parkville. 4 Stars

Arrived to Check out Tu Sabor Colombiano at Parkville Market on opening day. It's definitely a wonderful addition! I love that they have Colombian food there now! I wanted to give it a try and ordered a few things. I tried Empanada de carne which I thought was very flavorful and crisp. Buñuelo I really enjoyed! Pan de Bono I thought it was on the thicker side so I wasnt to crazy on the consistency of it . I'm Not sure I'd order it again. La Arepa Rellana, I'm a huge huge fan of arepa! Great flavor , just wish the arepa was a tad bit thicker to be able to grab . Mine was too thin and it just fell apart . But overall , great flavor with everything! I'm excited and I love that they are there! I'm An arepa lover so spread all the arepa love !! Try it! Besides it's Gluten free! Parkville is great! Always a good environment and stuff going on! The gentleman was very nice too! And.. you can't beat the prices!

We ordered a small one with guacamole and a larger one that included tostones, yuca, and arepa. Everything was delicious, especially the chicken, steak, and chorizo meats. I'd definitely suggest this place for good food. The only downside was that the game kept stopping due to a internet poor connection, but that didn't take away from our overall enjoyment. La Fonda was a great spot -- authentic food, warm atmosphere, and always fresh. Unfortunately, this new place doesn't live up to that standard at all. To start, there were no English menus available, which made ordering confusing. During my visit, I actually killed three flies inside the restaurant -- and there were several more buzzing around. That alone was a bad sign. The food didn't redeem the experience either. The calamari was over-fried and far from fresh. The dish with ground beef was literally ground into a dust-like texture -- completely unappetizing. The beans were cold, and the empanadas were hard, stale, and clearly re-fried; they even had an unpleasant taste. The mango juice, which I hoped would save the meal, was also a miss. Overall, it was a terrible experience from start to finish. I won't be coming back. Whatever happened between La Fonda Colombiana and Sabores Orange is truly disappointing -- the old restaurant was far better in every way.
