This place in Hartford was pretty good. The service was good, with the waitress being attentive to what we needed and asked for. It's also not very expensive at all, which is nice especially for a quick lunch. The food has good flavor and is well seasoned and came out hot. There's music playing in the restaurant but not so loud that you can't hear yourself with a conversation going on. Overall it was a nice experience eating here.

If I'm gonna do a "Food Crawl" this place is always gonna be on my list without exception. It is safe to say, I think, this little food emporium has one of the best Empanadas de Carne, far surpassing any other Hispanic version of that popular South American dish. The difference is the coarsely ground Colombian corn masa's dough texture and taste that is truly sublime, I've experienced nothing like it any where, couple that with the spicy salsa that accompanys your Empanada and voila!!! Another treat is the softball size Papas Rellenas, meat stuffed potato fried croquette which is a meal in and of itself. This is a rare hidden foodie gem palace of gustatory delight hidden in the rear of El Mercado.

Antojitos Colombianos is a good Colombian place inside of El Mercado. El Mercado has several small restaurants inside of it. I had the bandeja montanera which had rice, beans, plantains, pork and steak. It is quite a big meal. I really enjoyed the rice and beans portion. The steak was ok. The woman who helped us was super nice and I'll be going back. I've had a lot of latin cuisine but not much food from Colombia so I'd like to familiarize myself with their other offerings.

    Gooooooooooooal!

This place is amazing, and the people who run it are so sweet!! We loved the taco adobado and the cheesy plantains. Highly recommend.

We ordered a small one with guacamole and a larger one that included tostones, yuca, and arepa. Everything was delicious, especially the chicken, steak, and chorizo meats. I'd definitely suggest this place for good food. The only downside was that the game kept stopping due to a internet poor connection, but that didn't take away from our overall enjoyment. La Fonda was a great spot -- authentic food, warm atmosphere, and always fresh. Unfortunately, this new place doesn't live up to that standard at all. To start, there were no English menus available, which made ordering confusing. During my visit, I actually killed three flies inside the restaurant -- and there were several more buzzing around. That alone was a bad sign. The food didn't redeem the experience either. The calamari was over-fried and far from fresh. The dish with ground beef was literally ground into a dust-like texture -- completely unappetizing. The beans were cold, and the empanadas were hard, stale, and clearly re-fried; they even had an unpleasant taste. The mango juice, which I hoped would save the meal, was also a miss. Overall, it was a terrible experience from start to finish. I won't be coming back. Whatever happened between La Fonda Colombiana and Sabores Orange is truly disappointing -- the old restaurant was far better in every way.
