I am starting to see that after time some of my reviews seem rather dated, well because they actually are dated. I think I'm feeling rather dated too. Looks like I started this review update at the end of December 2014. Doc Fisher and the gang here are still solid. Definitely get your teeth worked on here. I recommend it still. They offer an in-house dental care plan which is pretty fantastic. I've been using it ever since I returned to Puddletown back in '14. It's $275 for a year and they give you two cleanings & two exams, a whitening treatment, and 15% off of all services. I think it's great, and i just got another crown this summer (2017) and it was totes affordable. I hope you have a good experience here at TDC, if you go tell them that Patrick sent you, but if you have a bad experience I don't want to hear about. ~Smiling is even easier with healthy teeth, give it a try! read more

There are very few moments in my life where I completely regret a decision and can find no good in it, yet coming here for dental care is one of my deepest regrets. Beware of this place unless you enjoy being ridiculed, tortured and unheard. Dr. Ahn kept striking my teeth with his metal tool as a "test" to see if I actually felt pain in a particular tooth by striking my other teeth. He struck my teeth so hard that it hurt. He didn't answer my questions and when I made the fatal mistake of allowing him to do a filling, I felt pain in the location of the filling and still feel pain in that area over a year later. My tooth hurts more now than it did before I got the filling. Please don't make the same mistake as I did, find yourself a different dentist!! read more

I've been going here for 3 or 4 years now. At my last visit they switched me to see the male hygienist and dentist. I wasn't concerned until the hygienist kept telling me how bad things looked. I've never had issues with my teeth and it felt very predatory. The dentist came in, barely looked in my mouth and told me I had 7 cavities! I asked if my new medication could cause that as I've never had issues before and he said no. He also said I needed to buy the $16 toothpaste they sold in the office or I would keep getting more cavities. I ended up getting 4 of the fillings done and had pain afterwards (none before). When I went back for my next check up, I explained that I was having pain where he worked and they kept questioning me, saying it wasn't possible, and kept asking me to list specific foods or specific teeth. When I pointed the tooth out, he said he didn't work on that one, it must have been from my old dentist. I ended up scheduling to have my last 3 done, but while I was waiting, I asked the receptionist if I could be transferred to female only staff after that day's visit. She said it was fine. I was taken back and while the assistant was talking my blood pressure, the male doctor came in and said he heard that I don't want to see him again. It was really aggressive and made my BP high. Then during the filings, he was so rough, I had tears streaming into my hair, then asked me at the end why I didn't speak up. I wish they would have let me see my xrays before paying for all the fillings. read more

I will say this is the worst dental experience I've ever had in my life. Dr. Kim pulled one of my lower teeth. Five shots and I was not numb and she told me I should only feel pressure. I felt every single thing she did to dig that tooth out and every stitch she put in my mouth. I cried through the whole thing. She walked out of the room after a traumatic experience and never said a word. Not an ounce of compassion. I had to go back in because I continued to have pain from the beginning of the pull until I went back in to have them pack it again saying it had dry socket, but the pain was always there from the beginning, so I'm not sure there was dry socket. And it's still not right. So next time I said, I want to see Dr. Ahn., since he's the only other dentist there thinking I'd get a better experience. But he basically was just as rude and when I asked questions, he asked me to be quiet so he could finish talking. Both appointments I cried, but there was no compassion shown. I still have bone coming out of my gum on the side of my mouth five weeks later from that pull that he did on two upper teeth. The only nice person in that office that I encountered was Jillian at the front desk. Other than that, it was a very cold atmosphere. Which is sad in a place that people are very uptight anyway. Dr. Ahn also said that I had a clotting problem made me go to the doctor to get my blood pressure checked before he'd see me again, and I got blood work to make sure that I didn't have a clotting issue. Absolutely one of the worst dentists I have ever been to. I wouldn't go there myself or take any of my family there. There are so many other dental practices out there that this should be a last resort. Among other issues, too many to list here in just (2) visits. But (1) major issue was I was told I was getting amoxicillin after specifically requesting it for various reasons. Only to find out I was prescribed some other generic antibiotic. After leaving the pharmacy going back to the dental office coming back to get what I was asking for... I was lied to and told that's what I was prescribed... Even after having the dental assistant review the medical chart directly in front showing that I was prescribed a generic. She still tried to tell me I was prescribed amoxicillin as if I was soft in the head when I went to pick up this prescription it was clearly not amoxicillin. Not sure what she was trying to convince me of but WTF... absolutely untrustworthy with questionable practices.. why force generic medications onto your patients.. who knows what else they do. When you aren't looking or paying attention. Kim the owner is absolutely disgusting and rude to her parents and clients. Life saver! Had an infected tooth that made my face blow up like a balloon and was in so much pain. I had gone to the ER at meridian park the night before because it was so bad and out of the blue. My insurance wanted me to wait till Friday but I could not wait. These guy were the first one's recommended by the hospital staff. I was there right after 9 am the next day and the staff were ready for me!? The receptionist knew who I was when I walked in! The dental assistant young lady was very informative and gentle taking my X rays with a swollen and painful face. The actual doctor/dentist woman came out soon after and was superwoman. She was nice, straight forward, informative, fast and efficient. I thought I would be there an hour with her ripping my face apart but within 5, 10 min she said "tooth's out".... I was shocked and thought she was joking!? I couldn't believe it, I felt nothing and didn't see any blood. Dr. Taeyoung Kim, little Asian lady but super strong and surgically gifted!! I owe her and the facility. Afterward they even let me keep the tooth and have me supplies with info on care for later. The place was also very clean and the staff I saw all had good looking teeth too so that was reassuring. For an emergency tooth extraction/X-rays and everything last minute I ended up spending about $280! I walked in expecting to pay $500 so great price! Places like this are hard to find, I am super grateful. Horrible. Don't go here! My husband needed quite a few fillings done. We prepared the dentist by letting the staff know that we are a family of six who could only afford to do the fillings in quadrants. We had them devide the fillings and chose a quaderant section to start in one month. They sent us the pricing on 3/10 and we saved for the scheduled appointment on 4/7. When my husband showed up for the appointment, they doubled the price for the appointment (which we could NOT afford). This is unfortunately, not the first time they have done this. We should have known they would do this to us again and again. Every time, they seem to blame it on the insurance. I called the insurance. There has been no changes in our coverage. This dentist office is inconsistent and they try to continuously trick you. They also gave me a huge cut in my mouth, and had to send me away with mouth gauze at one point because the male dental assistant scraped my gums with the suction straw. I am definitely finding somewhere else to recieve care for my family. Beware. read more

The worst dental experience I've had to date. Didn't catch the name of my dental assistant (curly hair and fake nails) but her bedside manner was horrible, it took 3 tries to numb me and then she acted like it was my fault for not telling them I need more anesthesia to begin with, as if I'm supposed to be able to tell when my face is half numb. Generally just a hostile attitude in all of her dealings with me, not to mention the fact that on multiple occasions she shoved the suction tube down my throat. As someone with a small mouth, their bite blocks are so bulky I felt like I was drowning. Dr. Sungyeob Baik was kind, but now after the fact my bite is entirely lopsided and the teeth he filled feel rough to the touch. I will 100% be finding a different dental provider. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Not to the amazing Dr Kim, but to the manager and receptionists. Dr. kim deserves a 6 star. First let's start with the receptionists here. Right after my first appointment, they scheduled me to come back 6 months later to get fillings and another cleaning. About a month in, someone had called and asked if I wanted to finally schedule my fillings. I was confused because I thought I already had. Then she check and realized there was an appointment already scheduled. That's fine, I understand over looking BUT this happened 3 other times. I also had asked to get a few documents sent over to my email and it took about a week of pestering them for it. Now, two days before my appointment to get my teeth cleaned and fillings done I get a call saying they have to reschedule because their dr has jury duty. Again, I understand these things come up, but not two days before. Then they had no intensions of fixing the problem. I agreed to just skip the cleaning and get my fillings done and was told they'd only do half of them. I let the lady know that that's ridiculous and that I'd like all of them done, I had waited 6 months for this and my teeth hurt. Then I get a call from the manager saying that they think I'd be best if I found a new dentist. Glad we agreed on one thing. What a mess and waste of time. Not happy with my experience today. I'm getting treatment from a Orthodontist and had crowding so that's why I needed the teeth pulled.I was scheduled to get 4 teeth pulled when I found out (last minute) the Dentist I was scheduled with was no longer with this practice. Since I have a very busy schedule I had to keep this appointment as I blocked time out of my schedule to recover. I told this office on more than one occasion that I was very anxious about the process. When I booked, when I confirmed & before the procedure.I went in to get the teeth pulled Dr. Kim sent me out because I still had wires on my teeth. I had to go all the way back to my orthodontist (after just leaving the office) have the wires removed before Dr. Kim would do the extractions. My ortho told me they never communicated that they needed the wires removed in the first place. As soon as I returned back to the dentist they jumped in and started giving me shots immediately. I hesitated and told her that I need gas because I was very anxious.She told me that I looked like I was doing fine and to let her pull one tooth to see how I would do. It almost seemed like she was in a hurry to get it all over with and totally discounted how I was feeling. Even after I told her I had a fainting disorder and have a history of passing out when I'm anxious.After she pulled one tooth she asked me how I was doing...I couldn't talk because I had a bite block in my mouth so I didn't really respond. I was also in a state of shock.She told me that I looked like I was doing just fine, so she continued to pull the second tooth. She took out the bite block and I started to cry(I was mentally freaked) she then asked me if my "boyfriend" was going to pick me up, I corrected her and said yes he was my fiancé .. she made a sarcastic remark... "boyfriend, fiancée..." (whatever). They sent me out without any pain prescription and hardly any gauze. Thank goodness my orthodontist gave me some mouth rinse and a ton of gauze.(had to go back and get my wires replaced) otherwise I would have had to make a run to the drug store with a bleeding mouth. Was looking for a dentist closer to me, tried this place. It's not great. Went in for an exam. They claimed they called my old dentist for my recent x-rays but it turns out they didn't. They came back and told me they 'tried" but it was 'closed.' I called immediately after the appointment - It was open. They lied. So I had to get more x-rays done. Also had some fillings done here, and had issues with most of them afterward. They don't sand them down or do whatever they're supposed to do to make them comfortable. I've had nothing but pain and cold sensitivity since having them done. It's like they didn't do them right in the first place. I was also told that I was on the verge of 'losing' one of my teeth and that I needed to go see a specialist immediately. Went back to my old dentist for his opinion... He disagreed. This is the most unprofessional dental practice I have ever been too. I am used to being treated with care and respect but this was the furthest thing from it. Dr. Fischer was horrible at helping out and returning calls on their so-called :emergency line" from Thursday night through Monday morning. Dr. Samani was my primary dentisit at this office and she was an average dentisit at best but Dr. Fischer was completely rude on numerous occasions. At one point he said "Don't worry about the dental infection that you have because only homeless people that push shopping carts all day long die from dental issues". That is just one small example of the slew of things that this office did that caused me to get away from their practice as fast and as far as possible. Obviously, I switched to a new dentist. I am very disappointed with the way how they treated me. I came to replace my fillings and beside this I got my lip damaged. I noticed that my lip is damaged when I came home, after some time when it stops being numb. At first, I thought it is not big deal, it will heal soon. But it did not heal soon, the damaged lip causes me discomfort for almost one week. I talk with Dr. Fischer that besides doing a good job with my tooth, I got my lip damaged and he said that I bite myself, that it is not his fault. I think they just did not want to take financial responsibility for this accident. I know that I did not bite myself and I felt bad after taking to him. If you want a great dentist you should really come here. I've been coming here for over 10 years now. I have always had not just a good experience, but an excellent one. The front office staff are always welcoming and helpful. The dental hygienists are always caring and thorough. The dentists are warm, professional and very skillful at what they do. I always feel very comfortable and secure in Dr. Samani's hands. I have NEVER had a painful experience here, and that's coming from someone with a lot of anxiety and very sensitive teeth. I was having excruciating tooth pain and was in dire need to make an appointment. The service was fast and painless. I got a root canal done the same day that I called and price was very reasonable. Hold onto your wallet... I have been told ALL my life how great my teeth are. I have had no cavities in over 25 years. I went in for a cleaning a couple weeks ago and was given a 1.5hr explanation on tons of work that needs to be done. I'd normally consider about 10% of the work suggested, if not for the other unnecessary work suggested. Now I will get none of the work done here. I don't trust the motivation. Perhaps my mouth completely fell apart in the last 6 months... probably not... I'll keep searching for an ethical dentist that asks ME what I want after explaining what NEEDS to be done. I've been going to Dr. Samani now for over ten years. She was recommended to me by someone because she has tiny hands and everyone wants a dentist with tiny hands, right? I love the fact that they will give me gas if I am feeling a little panicky. I once had to go to a specialist for something else and he commented on how nicely done a specific crown was. Nope. Nope. Nope. I decided to go to Tualatin Dental Care because it was convenient and had good reviews, I'll never go back. I've had regular dental check ups and haven't had a problem in 5 years. I went here and all of a sudden I need 5 fillings and a night guard. The reception staff and clinical staff is wonderful, but once the dentist came in I got a very uncomfortable feeling that I was being nickeled and dimed. I was right. I immediately went way out of my way to get a second opinion from a dentist with decades of experience that I knew I could trust. While he did agree with some things he did not agree with all of the fillings. In fact, he said I have no active tooth decay. A couple of the teeth that were mentioned he couldn't even figure out what they were talking about, another tooth has a stain that he pointed out to me and I know I've had for years. So, I will never recommend Tualatin Dental Care to anyone, and I now drive 30 miles out of my way to go to the dentist. read more

Not very impressed. I had never had a cavity until I started going here. I was told that I had lots of small cavities. After they started drilling... more started to come! Also, I have 100% dental coverage. Yet they kept doing procedures that were not covered by my insurance even after I complained and asked them to confirm with me before acting. It was a very frustrating 2 years. I attempted to give them the benefit of the doubt, but after they scheduled my cleanings incorrectly (for insurance coverage), I decided I needed to go to an office that has the time to listen to me and my needs. Seriously... its a computer system that generates the accurate insurance information. If the office is executing their job that poorly for someone with FULL DENTAL COVERAGE, then what are they doing for the poor patients that have to pay out of pocket... I love Tualatin Dental Care. I have been going here for just over a year now and my daughter does too. They give me gas and are very careful with my sensitive teeth. For many years, I didn't see a dentist as often as I should have because I was married to a service member and good dental coverage for spouses was difficult to find. Dr. Fischer and his staff are kind to me and are careful with my medical conditions. They tactfully keep a close eye on expenses and insurance coverage which is important to me. My daughter had a cleaning and a cavity filled here when she was eight and was very comfortable. They always ask me how she is doing even though they haven't seen her in a while. I hate going to the dentist, I despise going, I'm terrified of going but this visit was the best dental appointment I've ever had. Dr. Kim is amazing and Megan (I hope I'm spelling her name correctly) absolutely wonderful, no one made me feel stupid or like an idiot for the condition of my teeth. It's been quite some time since I've had dental work and everyone in the office made me feel like they truly cared about me. At no time did I feel like I was being talked down to or treated with anything other than respect and warmth. They work with my schedule, the appointments aren't made to fit around their schedule but mine, early, late, mid day, and they even got me in earlier than I was scheduled. The staff at the front they deserve a round of kudos too, I was helped by a Michelle I believe and not only did she take the time to walk me through my bill (never have I had anyone do this) but when I was finished and ready to pay she made sure that even though she was busy that she finished up with me and confirmed everything. I absolutely recommend Tualatin Dental Care to everyone, I even went back to work and told my coworkers that they should use Tualatin Dental Care.
