I feared the tape had deteriorated enough that the footage had been permanently lost. Given that the tape is rapidly approaching 30 years of age (and not to mention I'd gotten a discount, thanks to a Living Social deal), AUA could have brushed it off as being a casualty of deterioration over time, but they readily agreed to run it through their machines again - without an additional charge - to see if the visuals could be improved. Luckily the second time around, they were able to retrieve the video in full, just in time to share for Mother's Day. Thanks, AUA!

The deal explicitly says "For $10, you get up to two hours of VHS to DVD transfer (a $20 value)." I brought in 2 tapes - one is 30 minutes long (a short tape), the other only has a 10 minute clip. Even the fine print is not clear: "Limit 1 voucher per household * Valid for video and audio transfer * Valid for transfer from VHS, VHS-C, Mini DV, up to 120 minutes * Entire value must be used in a single visit * Not valid on holidays" The manager accused me of taking advantage of the deal because it SHOULD have said only one tape. The lady working the front counter accepted my request to do both tapes as the coupon is not clear. The manager continued to argue with me while he was walking away. WARNING: He also said that he would not honor the voucher for others who brought in more than one tape. I will never send any business to that place.
