You'd expect I'd get our first dance included right? Nope! It sure was not. My fault for not reading the contract and not seeing our first dance would not be part of the wedding video. I just assumed it would since it's a big part of our wedding. If we want our first dance video we'd have to pay them more money... this saddens me. We'd already paid so much and they won't even include this clip for us.

Our original appointment had to be rescheduled because he had a sick baby at home. But for our rescheduling troubles, he offered a set of free Christmas cards which I thought was thoughtful. The photos were very professional, creative and natural. He was friendly with the kids and very patient. I will go back to Bill for family photos next year, even without the Living Social coupon. I would strongly recommend his photo services to my friends for their families or corporate photo needs. Also, by using Bill, we are able to get really good photo printing rates. According to the price spreadsheet, they are better than even getting photos enlarged and printed at Costco or Walgreens.

June, Claudia, and Nick were rock stars (and you feel like you have your own private paparazzi, which is fun!) and made sure our shoot really captured our personalities. They made us comfortable, took risks (asked a guy if we could take pics in his classic car, and he said yes!), were super fun, and completely professional. How much better could it be wandering through Old Sac, having martinis, and playing in the water all in one shoot? That was just the shoot... then we got the pics. We were very pleased with how the pictures turned out. First, the technical quality (white balance, exposure, warmth, everything) was exceptional - I always look for that first. And second, the creativity was awesome. Our personalities and where we are in our lives RIGHT NOW really showed through. I have seen plenty of photographers try to get that moody look, or try to be flirtations and it just doesn't fit the subject - not so with Mia Hope. The other thing I really loved is that some shots were that faded sun-drenched look that is so in right now, but only when the specific picture called for it. Others were clear and vibrant, and still others had more of a vintage feel. I love that they let the picture dictate the processing. SO NICELY DONE! I was looking at some post production photography work, and was really impressed with many of the photos. I had no idea that the gentleman that I was speaking to was the photographer himself. He was so incredibly humble and gracious to put up with my questions. This guy has a great eye. I started chatting with Erik about all of the fun things that his company does. I mentioned to him that I have a friend who has started her own business, and really needed help to advertise her " new baby". I guess I'm always very skeptical about linking people together, and whether or not there is going to be follow through. I was blown away by not only how quickly Erik reached out to my friend, but he had already scheduled a meeting, and was working on potential layouts for her to look at for their meeting. Who does this?! Erik does! Erik really puts 100% of himself into everything that he does, & his efforts truly show. We all have those special life events that happened, or we have friends that have life events going on, and we're always in need of a great photographer.
