Absolute easiest passport photo experience of all time. We were in and out in 2 minutes, and the photographer handled my toddler very well.

Myself and two brothers went in there yesterday as we are going thru my dad's slides going back to the early sixties and forward. And I had been in the shop a few weeks ago getting an understanding of what we needed to do to convert these to electronic media. Yesterday, in the middle of maybe the fifth day of going thru the slides, the projector went out. And the projector is probably as old as the slides. Went in believing the light globe had gone out. These guy checked it out and went to work trying to find a globe that old. Not something sold these days. But they found one up stairs and likely buried eventually. The also offered advise on another part that was showing its age pretty well. When we got home, projector worked well and back to work we went. Thanks Photo Source. (I might add have used the shop a few time in colorizing old photos from over fifty year. Every one turned out awesome. So pleased)

She was very friendly at check-in, and she was patient and helpful during the shoot. I took my cat with me, and he was surprisingly cooperative for most of the shoot. This was my first time doing a photoshoot with my cat. I did book a 30 min slot, but it took half that time to get pictures taken and to order photos. I was honestly out the building before my appointment was officially over. As far as picking out photos, figuring out which deal would give me the most bang for my buck (had to figure that out and calculate it on my own), and having them ship my photos, the experience wasn't that great. I received my digital photos the day of the shoot, but I noticed one of my them was corrupted (it was lighter and more faded than the other pictures). Customer service wasn't able [or willing] to resolve that issue after sending me a link that didn't work, so I had to edit the photo myself... The rest of the digital photos came out really well, though. The wait to get my physical photos shipped to me took longer than they said it would. It didn't help that they created the shipping label a week after my shoot, so I got my photos well after Christmas. I wasted my money on the physical photos and canceled my membership after this experience just to get SOME money back. IF I ever do this photoshoot again, I hope customer service does a better job (or that I don't need to speak to them at all because none of my photos are corrupted).

They are open during Christmas for photos with Santa, you can have your children or the whole family take their picture with Santa and it's a lot more pleasant than the long line and super rushed mall photo. There's much more to it, as well. For instance, they have window displays and a darling set up with Santa's workshop that you can peek inside of, with places for little kids to enjoy while you wait a very short time to get your photos. Also, a nice touch is they email you your photos, very friendly people. This is a family-run operation, very sweet family and there are several really fun details that our 8 year old took notice of, they have a huge book of names, and Santa checks you off and adds notes, very realistic, I loved it. I was quoted $35 on the phone and told it'd take 3-5 days for them to complete. Guess how pleasantly surprised I was when they called me the very next day saying my photo was ready and it was several dollars cheaper than originally quoted?? Guess how even more thrilled I was when the photo I was given was beautifully restored and not overly edited to hell. This was a sort of social experiment, collecting answers to the prompt, "What do you love most about your body?" and taking photographs of local volunteer participants. I took a leap and decided to sign up for a shoot. Hint: my response to the question had to do with my teeny-tiny beginnings. One afternoon in early April, I arrived at the gate of the black and yellow DSP studio building in Alkali Flats (11th Street) for a 30-minute shoot, able to pick my own convenient time, and he was super flexible. The only instruction was to come dressed in something (outfit, hair, makeup) that makes you look good and feel good, tried my best. What a whirlwind session getting to meet David -- he was based in Davis before moving to midtown Sacramento, go Aggies! A fun experience, at ease and a such a modern, welcome, inviting, comfortable space/zone. The beautiful snapshot image for keeps was a bonus. When he says to trust his creative process, it's the truth! 42 participants later, this project final form launched in June as a blog post, and ultimately it was a celebration of body positivity. Graciously invited back in to his studio to do headshots one evening in August, brought a couple of simple tops as options. Did my own hair and makeup again, thankful my hair-toning, false eyelash self-application skills sufficed. Originally slated for a 30-minute session, David let me actually do several outfit changes and stick around to help choose the winningest photo. It was difficult to pick just one, though the others were available for purchase if wanted. So grateful to DSP for having me back. Just as the previous visit, working with David behind the lens was fun, but at the same time you can tell he remains focused, directs for poses, and even explains the pro lighting tricks. Absolutely loving my fresh new headshot photo, so simple and clean. I'd had headshots taken before but this updated one is more intimate in a lean-in kinda way. Highly recommend and happy to help him build his porfolio and get the word out. His website/blog/newsletter occasionally run promotions, such as the current "Back to You" portrait session Beauty Shoot promo through the end of September. Who else wants to look and feel gorgeous? For photography needs (portraits, headshots, whatever), David and his hair/makeup/wardrobe team elevates you to Vanity Fair magazine-style level at his regular-priced studio packages. Both of my photos were my own wardrobe, hair and makeup in the interest of time (30 minute session versus typical 2 hour shoot), but his portfolio says it all. He also does senior portraits, weddings, even pet photos (doggie "Vogue")! For beautiful photography in a signature style, see David Suh.

I'm already trying to find other excuses and reason to do it all over again-something I never thought I would say before. That's saying something!
