Around holidays things can get a little hectic, especially with the rental lines, but that's to be expected at a smaller ski area. The staff has always been friendly and helpful, and overall it's a great little day hill to get our skiing fix in between trips out west. We've made a lot of good family memories here over the years and will definitely keep coming back.

They're rocking chairs out front of the door and the creek out back with more chairs. In the 30 years we've been coming to Maggie, this is our new favorite place. We will be back!

The owners, who live on premises, bailed us out of a very bad experience at another establishment (see my review for Fireside Cottages). There are picnic areas, gas grills, lots of room for the kids to play and the rooms are immaculate with really comfortable beds. We were able to cook in a well equipped (though small) kitchen. The Chalet is just a few minutes down the road from all of the local attractions---Cataloochie Ski Resort, Ghost Town and the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway. I'd highly recommend The Chalet as an affordable, comfortable place to stay while you're visiting Maggie Valley.

You won't find a flat screen TV or some other modern amenities, but I'll take a clean spacious room any day over many of the other options in Maggie Valley. There is ample open space behind the rooms for kids to play horseshoes and run around. Furniture and beds also appear on the older side, but are in good condition and comfortable.

The air quality was rotten. We ran the ac constantly. There is a small ice machine & it broke while there. The towels were very worn & thin. There was damage to the inn during hurricane Helene and the floors sagged. General moldy odor. I don't think housekeeping ever mopped- the floors were gritty. The bathroom needed ripped out & replaced. Better yet, level this dump. We left a day early. I didn't feel safe- cheap wood door and no dead bolt.

They also have a large selection of wax, stickers, snowboarding clothes, and skateboards and have cool snowboarding videos playing while you browse. I was in need of a lot of handholding selecting a new pair of boots and the sales guy was super knowledgeable, patient and helpful. They also offer unlimited free heat moldings. I wouldn't have even thought to go a half size down than my shoe size but now my boots fit like a glove! Thanks so much Flipside!

We stayed in cottage 1 and found 4 stink bugs throughout our stay around the cottage. One was found on the sink under our toothpaste (ew). - Drain was clogged and local management was unheard from. This issue was brought to Vacasa within an hour of checking in. We stayed 3 nights and no one came to help us. - Be aware that the pool is not always open. The listing advertises a shared pool but it didn't appear to be open when we went (Feb). It looked very dirty and not swimmable. - We found 4 stink bugs during our stay. One that was on the bathroom sink under our toothpaste. - Hand soaps are watered down bath in the bathroom and kitchen area - Hosts and local management does not respond timely - Wi-Fi is weak Additional things to note: - Not a good spot for larger occupants due to very tight hallways and very small bathroom.

Clean room, plenty of clean bed and bath linens. I thought the rate was a decent one as I'm really NOT into spending $100/night to lay my head somewhere. I just found it ironic that they lock up the cream cheese and yogurt on their breakfast bar. This town sees a lot of bikers and hey, I'm a biker too, but I guess some of the non-yuppie bikers must have been filching the goods as they were locked up! Had to get the Front Desk Clerk to unlock the cabinet so I could have cream cheese on my bagel. Okay continental breakfast, nothing to write home about. Overall, a good value in the $55-63 range for double occupancy.

The location worked out well since we were visiting both these places. The room had a musty and smoky smell, although the room was labeled as non-smoking. Other than that, it was a pretty good room judging that it was a motel. The bathroom and towels were clean, cleaner than a few 4 star hotels that I've stayed at. The sheets looked clean but adopted the musty scent of the room. They had free continental breakfast which included a waffle maker and was on par with most other budget hotels I've been to. Solely based on the exterior, this looked like one of the better places to stay in Maggie Valley, along with the Best Western. We booked it very last minute and overpaid at $80/ night. If you get a better deal, it's worth it if you're not planning on spending too much time in your room. Bring your own sheets if you can!

We stayed in the Honeymoon Deluxe for a much needed getaway. It was perfect! We would not…read morehesitate to stay again. We were only there for a weekend, so we didn't use the kitchen, dvd player, etc. But, we did use the hot tub! Nights and mornings were in the 50's and breezy (aka cold wind!) and the hot tub was great for both morning and night. The creek running past is calming and drowns out any sounds from town. The convenience of the location with the privacy, make this cabin perfect. As others have commented on their website, the cleanliness was amazing! The hot tub was already hot when we showed up and there was a treat in the fridge, yummy! The drive to Cherokee is easy, and passes by Bearmeats Indian Den, one of the few shops with real hand crafted goods. Be sure to stop by there. The furniture was comfortable. Furniture and décor is typical styling for a rental cabin, but in much better shape than many I have seen. The pictures are true to what is there. I slept so soundly in the bed, I didn't even wake during the rainstorm. The kitchen, although we didn't use it, was well stocked with pots, pans, etc. needed for cooking. Plenty of silverware, plates, cups, and mugs for 2-4 people. Washer and drier were great to have available. We used the dryer and it worked fine. We did not use the grill, but there is one available. There is one flaw, and that is the shower. It is small. My husband is 6' and ~170lbs and it was tight. The shower served its purpose, but if you are larger, consider one of their other cabins. This shower would not deter us from coming again, we absolutely would! I just want to include that so others can pick which cabin is perfect for them. Madeline clearly takes pride in her cabins and will gladly help you pick out the right one. When I called, I had it narrowed down to 2 and she told me more about each. She wanted to make sure we loved it as much as she does.
