I only got one cactus today for my collection and hopefully in the future I can get more since they are a bit pricey the ones I want and you need a truck to transport them. Had the opportunity to meet with the nice owners during a real estate event by our Realtor in their garden which also can serve for events you can rent. The owners are knowledgeable and answers my plant questions especially being new here in the desert environment. The plants are fairly priced, although I did noticed they have some desert plants cheaper than other places. Plants look healthy and pretty. The place overall it's just pretty and a relaxing place to shop for plants. This place will be added to my nurseries go-to list. I had an issue with a wonderful backyard fountain that I inherited with the purchase of my house. Too nice to get rid of, yet, was non-functionable. Visited these fine folks. Tucson Koi & Water Gardens is a wonderful new addition to the "Metal arts Village," just north of Fort Lowell on Dodge. It shares space with a business called "Colors by Nature" that sells garden statuary and arts (mostly big buddha statues). The two businesses run in tandem, each with different owners. Colors by Nature lends its buddha statues to Tucson Koi & Water Gardens, so prospective buyers can see how nicely the two elements mesh together. Funny the way things happen... Since I showed a house a few weeks ago that had the greatest koi pond, I'd been thinking how cool it would be to have a koi pond in our backyard. I had asked the listing agent of the house with the koi pond where they got theirs, but the owners of that house didn't know where it had come from- since it came with the house when they bought it. Today ended up being the serendipitous day that I discovered the best place in Tucson to get a koi pond! I am still not sure if (or when) we will actually get one. But at least now, I know where to come when I am ready to take the plunge. In addition to custom Koi ponds and gardens, Tucson Koi & Water Gardens will customize outdoor patio living areas, like banco benches and kiva fireplaces. They have a beautiful banco bench/combination kiva fireplace, complete with a succulent garden at their outdoor showroom on Dodge. Wow man this place is crazy expensive. I bought the same cactus plants and half of the price at Home Depot down the street. I'm glad I waited to purchase before I went to Home Depot . Also I came here for pond plants and koi which were out ! Then the guy said he had some in the back but said he wanted to spilt them up to charge me for not even half plant ! So basically they bought a plant and wanted to cut half of the plant I was going to buy and still charge me 45 dollars for a Lily LOL and it was just a yellow color not even the more desirable colors. For this reason I will not be back to this place because they were very sneaky with prices. But the young kids was very honest with me and very respectful so for that they get 1 . Wow so how did I trash your business ?? As I stated your plants are over priced end of story !! And there were prices on the plants I was looking at so not sure what your referring too as plants had no price tag ? Now on to the Lilly's what was told to me from your employee or co owner not sure but he works there , was they Lilly's we looked at in the back in the white troth bin were mature . But he stated you guys wanted to spilt them up more to for more profit which is your right as an owner . But to then try to sell me a Lilly with one strand for 35 dollars is crooked to be honest . Rather then accuse me of trashing your business look into the review and either fix it or not . I went to ponds plants and more to buy a red Lilly a big one with about 8 strands of leaves for only 25 dollars. They have been in business for 15 years the owner told me . There prices are competitive and reasonable fair . Also my family business is doing perfectly fine in SoCal in fact both of our in n outs have been number one in SoCal 7 years string in sales and service . Since your new to having a business word of advice rather then be defensive look into the concerns or complaints and see how you can fix them before you reply in anger . I wish your business the best as I've never said it was bad at all !! But what I did say was the truth Sir compared to other places other then Home Depot your prices are higher. Also one more note to say Home Depot employees have little to no knowledge on plants is absurd and not fair to trash them and unprofessional. And they are spiteful, most probably out of self-interest. If you have taken the time to develop private gardens composed of desert landscape and have purchased plants from a good number of nurseries in Tucson and California, like we have, you would realize that Tucson Cactus and Koi represents some of the finest specimens available in our town and at very reasonable prices. It is a new venture with a composite of elegance and harmonious integration into the Tucson development scene. To those naysayers, I say take your junk ideas and stay in California, for you have no appreciation for quality and the sincere efforts of a business spreading a genuine ideal of beauty. These guys really know their stuff! Being new to desert gardening, we're on a serious learning curve and they've been tremendously helpful. And their plants are so healthy looking compared to other nurseries we've been to (and that's a lot of nurseries) in the Tucson area. After looking around for 3 or 4 months, we've settled on Cactus & Koi for most of our planting, and will continue to buy our plants here as we add to the backyard. We recently had them install landscape lighting, add decorative rock to the entire yard, and fill a bare section of the yard with a beautiful selection of desert plantings. Our sales consultant Chris was extremely helpful in helping us pick out the perfect items for the project. Morgan came out to measure the property and talk with us about our wishes and offer suggestions to make it all come together. He is very knowledgeable and has a great eye for design. When it was time for the work to begin Morgan and his team, (Justin, Isaiah, Matthew, and Alex,) worked incredibly hard and did a wonderful job. At one point there was some question about the best way to move a huge and heavy boulder from the curb into the yard. Not to be bested by the big rock, the team worked together and through the process of elimination came up with a solution. We were very impressed with their dedication and work ethic.
