This is a neat little dog park for folks living or visiting a little south of Central Square. The park is gravel with some grass patches, which doesn't seem to bother any dogs, but I wish there was more. Per long-term pet parents, the grass has been gradually growing year-after-year, so maybe it will be fully grass someday. There are bowls and water fountains with adequate water pressure to ensure dogs stay hydrated when playing. There are some cliques at certain times, but haven't experienced anyone being rude - actually quite the opposite. People seem to be interested to learn and meet the newcomers (we moved back in January). The only issue I have come across is a dog walker once around 12:00pm on a weekday. He had 3-4 dogs and they all ran in and started humping mine and the walker did nothing about it, so when I got the dog off I took mine and left. Outside of this, the owners seem all responsible and are good at clocking signs when their dogs may be overstimulated or not liking another dog and will recall them. My pup is still learning how to interact with people but loves playing with other dogs. All the owners have been very respectful of him & his space and allowing him to approach them when he's ready. We are from out of State, and my dogs are trying to get acclimated To new routine and environment. Most dogs in the park were male puppies Not neutered owned by first time covid dog owners.. With little experience.. Very Cliquy Neighborhood Park and Most people were not nice or interested in helping me when my male dog had a problem with another dog being aggressive to my daughter dog..his sister. I understand the dynamics well and am very experienced in this field of positive and negative reinforcement. Lots of mean folks with big mouths.. picking on the new bees.. It's a fine park but some people here are just exceedingly rude and seem to be very uneducated owners. There was a woman with a pit bull wearing prong collars (these collars are not allowed per Cambridge rules). I called my 3 month old puppy off from approaching her dog. Her dog was leashed inside the park, which I also took to mean do not approach). This woman started yelling at me. I was wearing headphones, so I didn't hear her at first, but 5 minutes must have passed when she got closer and louder and kept yelling and I finally realized that she was upset because I didn't want my dog to say hi to her dog and she thought I discriminated against her pit bull and I was giving her dirty looks and was yelling all kinds of expletives at me. I love pit bulls and I would have loved to sya hi. I was just being cautious with my rambunctious puppy who was going into the park for the first time after he got vaccinated. I'm sorry for her pit bull (choke collar!!!), because it's exactly this type of uneducated, aggressive, insecure people who pick fights when there are none and who give their perfectly fine breed a bad reputation. If I see her again, I will call animal control on these collars. We do not expect to come to dog park with people like her. It ruins everything for us. I'm going to avoid the park unless we know the dogs and the owners inside the park. read more

Beware !!! People with the larger dogs are allowing their dogs to gang up on the smaller dogs it's not right. They don't even care that their oversized animal is hurting the smaller one. read more

Response to Eileen O: There is a grassy field next to Tudor Street Dog Park that is not the dog park, it's a grassy field. People play volleyball, soccer, etc. here after work and on the weekends. The dog park is the adjoining fenced-in area. There are a few benches, a water fountain, dog bowls, and dog toys in the area. Note that it is only off-leash to Cambridge licensed dogs. Fenced, off-leash dog park with vestibule gates for safe entry and exit. Plenty of on-street parking, mutt mitt dispenser, trash can, standard pea gravel, one or two shade trees, no benches, no water fountain. This is a no frills park seemingly designed under duress or a REALLY tight budget.. However, the bonus is the responsible owners and dog walkers who bring their dogs and their client's dogs into this 1/4 acre space. People pick up the poo, discourage negative, or annoying behaviors, and don't mind if someone else corrects their dog. I've never heard, "Now Fluffy. Don't do that Fluffy. Flufffy, that's not nice, Fluffy. Stop Fluffy. Get down Fluffy." All that soft talk is fine at home, but when 160 lb Fluffy is humping my 25 lb Bella, drooling a mountain dog river all over her while she is hammered helplessly into the ground, getting ghetto or trailer park is no longer beneath me. Bella has had some of her best dog park days here because 95% of the dogs brought here are stable. Their owners realize their dogs are their companions, not their children. The people are why I love this park. It's not a big deal to b.y.o.w. There is an empty, ceramic, community dog bowl behind the gate waiting for cool water. Thanks to the dog community who frequent this park, Bella can go-good-dog-go without being humped into ground. We, my irresistible bitch and I, appreciate that. read more

Tudor Street Dog Park - sleeping like a puppy - Dog Parks Near Me - Cambridge, Massachusetts

After living in the neighborhood for about 6 months, my boyfriend and our playful young spaniel stumbled upon this great dog park. It is located among some warehouses and is lacking any shady trees, as the previous reviewer noted, but is a surprisingly pleasant open space, perfect for a dog that wants to run, chase balls, play with others. Since finding it a few weeks ago, we've been taking our dog there a few times a week and have found that the other dogs and owners seem to be very nice company for our pup. Also of note, someone has kindly placed a bench/swing on one side of the park in case you want to sit down. And the warehouse/studio of some kind next door was blaring some nice rockin' guitar music the other day. It was a nice addition to our sunny afternoon. read more

We've lived nearby for a year, but just found this place a month or two ago. It is in a bit of a strange area - an industrial setting with lots of warehouses. The advantage is that there is a lot of parking right next to the park. As others mentioned, the dog park is mainly gravel-filled, but there are grassy areas in the back and along the sides, so picky dogs such as mine can easily do their business. We've gone around 5-6pm, and there are usually quite a few dogs - of all sizes and shades - for Lexi to play with. I am always entertained by watching them all play with each other. It is hard to find a completely fenced in dog park around here, so this aspect will keep us coming back. We also like that the owners are very nice and responsible - knowing when to tell their dog to stop or to keep them on a leash. That's important for our dog, who can get a little scared with the more aggressive types. We'll try to take our Lexi here once a week for some good play time! read more

We had always had good experiences at this park, however on February 15, 2019 we arrived at the park with our small Boston Terrier mix (who gets along very well with other dogs and is very well socialized through daily play groups at a different dog park with a professional dog walker) in order to run around with her and tire her out before dinner time. As soon as we entered, a black Labrador-type dog laid down on the ground as he saw her approaching, which is commonly understood to be a play solicitation pose in dogs. As my dog approached, without warning, he growled and then latched onto her neck as our dog started screaming and trying to get away. I shudder to think what would have happened if my husband did not manage to pull that dog off of ours on time. There was absolutely no apology or any kind of sympathy from the dog's owner, or any reprimand towards his own dog. Our dog was traumatized and continued screaming for a few seconds after we scooped her up. The owner stood looking at us as we checked her neck for puncture wounds (none, just deep bruising) and then quietly left with his dog after we left. Since then we have not felt like returning to this park and it sounds like another dog owner has had a similar incident with a dog matching this description; this is a heads up to any owners of smaller/more submissive/playful dogs that go to Tudor dog park: please look out for this dog or any other aggressive dogs at this park, as this seems to be a recurring issue. read more

This very small dog park has no water for dogs except what someone brings. No benchs also. Nothing for the dogs to play in also. During winter it gets icy and then muddy due to poor drainage. People are responsible looking after there dogs. Street parking was only metered until about a week ago. (finally THEy TOOK THEM OUT) YES!!! Only dog park that had that. I just hope metered parking doesn't comback. I don't know how this park deserves 4 stars. Best thing about it for now and and I hope.they don't do another washington park on this one. Esp since there going they might be puting apartments right next door. read more

This dog park needs help. Poor drainage. Doors drag. Water fountain have poor water pressure so it take for ever to fill a water bowl. I am there ever day during the week. One light that they plan to remove if Cambridge ever gets there act together and make this park like Sommerville zero Washington dog park minis the all the lights, great drainage, water fountain that have great water pressure. And a gazebo that they gave and we don't. read more

Visited Cambridge recently with our two dogs. Really looked forward to taking them to the park. Previous reviewers had said it's off leash and fully fenced. Not our experience; gates chained open and sign said dogs need to be on leash. Epic fail! read more
