    Updated playground- baseball themed
    Rou M.

Cute park with an updated playground right next to the baseball field. There are also pickleball courts and a tennis court nearby. Many people seem to walk around the park and the fields in the mornings. People walk their dogs here as well. Parking can be limited. If you come during a baseball game you're out of luck with parking even in the neighborhood.

Defunct vending machine amidst the sweltering summer heat. Narrow single-entrance parking alley. Please drive carefully.

tl,dr: given the modern times and my high standards, this park was frustrating. Likes: + 4 public pickleball courts (meaning no reservation needed), 3 of which are open play. + Restrooms have paper towels. Non-likes: - Their fourth pball court is a challenge court. This makes it harder to enjoy many rec play matches, given how quickly popular this sport is becoming. - Not much separation between adjacent pball courts, so there're a lotta ball-on interferences. - No sun shade or rain shelter over these pball courts. - Awkward narrow 1-way parking alley. - The water pressure of the drinking fountain is too weak. Too dirty; I couldn't drink from it. - No water bottle refill station. - I had to leave the park because I ran out of water even though I wanted to keep playing.

We went there to play pickle ball and it was great park and plenty of courts available. I definitely enjoyed it.

Likes: + A few open-play pickleball courts…read more + Evening lights light up the pb courts well. + Fragrant restroom. + Large parking lots. + Various friendly players show up throughout the day to welcome you to a game. Mostly beginners. This park has public restrooms, but they're located a 5min walk away from the pb courts. Wish they installed the two closer together. Non-likes: - Only THREE pickleball courts. The wait is so long!! There were TWELVE paddles lined up on each of the three courts. Expect to wait about one hour between games during peak hours. - Restrooms don't have paper towels. - There's only one drinking water fountain here. No water bottle refill station. - Only one seated toilet in the men's restroom. - I don't like the fence design surrounding the pb courts. Have to walk/run all the way around to get to the court you're next on. One or two doors along the fence would've been nice.

And it's really well-maintained. The rubber mats aren't good shape. They have the areas pretty well separated for a little kids and big kids. You've got the big kid swings over by the big kids playground in the small kid swings over by the small kid playground in between there is a rock climbing station And a small little house with a dirt patch for kids to play in. Game changer though? Did someone say zip line? There was a line of kids waiting to give themselves a chance at swinging across the zip line. Definitely a new staple for the family. Also, plenty of shade parking.

I met up with a friend that I hadn't seen for awhile and it was the perfect place to catch up during a walk around of the garden. I loved the pond with the lily pads and turtles, and the Heritage House surrounded by orange trees and roses. I was impressed by the amount of orange trees. It reminds you of why they call it Orange County. If I went to school here I'd be here probably once a week. Otherwise it's great to come if you live in the OC.

From the parking lot it was easy to follow the signs along to the garden. The garden had areas that represented Woodlands, Mediterranean, Dessert, and a Cultivated Collection. There were walking paths but I still recommend closed toed shoes since it's a bit sandy. They had many benches throughout for resting or handing out and admiring nature. We spent about an hour here, but to be fair I'm not that into nature. I GOT A BUG BITE and it swelled and was super itchy. Sigh. I think someone who super loved nature or wanted to take their time to hang out could take 2-3 admiring all the plant life. My FAVORITE moments here was when we came across wildlife. My favorite were the rabbit, turtle, and crane. It's beautiful. Great spot to get some steps in and absorb some sunlight.
