Doug and Rodney helped me to quickly get back on the road after a flat. The team did an amazing job and went above and beyond.

Let me start by saying I met one of the owners Steve. He was very pleasant and engaging and from his position wanted to offer the best service possible. Our church had a church trip planned and I brought the church van in to have it checked before the trip. Another shop did the estimate for repairs but would not honor the aftermarket warranty . Tuffy was recommended because of ability to honor warranty. Long and short. Brought to Miller Rd Thursday and was informed by steve to bring in Friday at 10:00am and there was good chance to be ready by COB. Warranty was called, videos sent, emails sent with time-Stamped info. Somehow there was miscue between the Shop and warranty company. while waiting for response from warrant, the shop went forward and did the work and anticipating to hear back from warranty. Ends up, church van was kept overnight Friday into Saturday, following Monday Warranty company denies claim to pay for work done "without their authorization", church has to come out pocket $580+ (NOTE: Owner Steve did try to work with me taking about $264 off the labor portion and we pay for parts. The crew working under Steve, the SUPV and some of techs were showing and giving the feeling of "dismissal" and excuses about van being ready and not communicating with other shift or crew. Overall just not a good experience. Have to admit the other part-owner tried to assist as well. I've had an alignment which was 103$ and you have 30 days with a warranty and it's not been done right twice. I'm very dissatisfied!!!!

The Tuffy in Saginaw Michigan, on Bay Road is a scam! I went to get two front tires replaced and balanced and an alignment on the front. They tried to tell me all four rotors were freezing up, what!!! At the end I requested the tires get rebalanced and that was the problem not frozen rotor! Do not patronize that location! read more

Real concerns regarding honesty of services. Spent a lot of money on tires I told them the brand and they put another tire on without my permission and didn't want to do anything about it except charge me more money to switch them out and then the same with the muffler. Went back to discuss coupons and they said they were already used in the bill which was a complete lie because you had to go online to put in the information for the tires. But the muffler who knows. Nice job Tuffy. Plus I was told by one that I would have free balance and rotation and then another said no. Who do you believe? So I have expensive tires and will have to pay for balance and rotation.Never again read more

Long story short they were awesome, they took extra time to explain things and saved me money on what I did not need, plus did great work.

Duane is super nice and very helpful! The guys have a good sense of humor and are very knowledgeable. They physically showed me what they found and what they wanted to get done first to make sure I remained safe on the road. Love that everyone has a positive attitude, I've been to many auto shops where they are just rude and try to scare you into buying and fixing a bunch of crap. I told him I just want to get whatever I can done. Saved me a ton by getting stuff all done at once. It would have easily cost me an extra 1000 anywhere else. read more

Took my wife's 2009 Cadillac CTS in to have the motor mounts changed. This is a big undertaking because of catalytic converters and tightness. Manager Don and his crew at this Tuffy, Miller Rd. facility, took on this challenge and had the car back to us in four hours. Price was well within reason, a bonus. Took my Truck in because the front brakes are loud and squealing. They told me nothing was wrong with my breaks. The break pads look brand new. So I went for a second opinion and saw that my brakes are horrible. Pads are down to 10% and rotors are rusted. These guys have no clue what they are doing. They knew I had a 2 hour commute for work. I went in at 4 pm and they close at 6. I could be assuming but it looks as if they don't want to work. Bell tire got paid on this instead of Tuffy. read more

I very rarely use my car, but when I do, it's for really important, longer trips -- like to visit my folks in Flint around the holidays, or when I volunteer at a summer camp in Jackson. This time around, when I started up my car in Chicago, it sounded pretty bad. Very loud. I was worried that I had a hole in my muffler or exhaust system somewhere. As the 280 miles ticked away, the sound just got louder. I knew I would have to have someone in Flint look at it over thanksgiving weekend. And I knew, from previous bad experiences, that the nearest Volkswagen dealerships were 45 minutes away, in Lansing and Auburn Hills. I had heard the horror stories about places like Jiffy Lube, so I asked my dad where he took their cars. He immediately mentioned this specific Tuffy Auto Service Center. It had been recommended to him by a good friend of his, and they were both very happy with their experiences there. When we arrived, I met Danny, the manager, who was very friendly and courteous. Almost immediately our technician, Don, came out to pick up the car and put it on the hoist. Within five minutes he had us come out to look at the problem -- a coupling had come completely loose and needed to be reconnected. He said it would be no problem to fix it. While we were out there, I also asked him to attach a new belly pan that I'd bought to protect the engine compartment. He had no problem helping with this slightly unusual request. (VW Jetta and Passat owners know that if you so much as scrape the front bumper over a parking block, you risk losing that belly pan.) Within an hour, the work was done and he had us back out to look at the work that was done. He pointed out that one of my front ball joints was loose, but said he'd have to order the part. However, the price he quoted was VERY reasonable -- if I didn't have to go back to Chicago I might have seriously considered having them to the work. But he said that it would get me back safely, and didn't try to pressure me into having any extra work done, like flushing a bunch of fluids or my brake lines or any of that kind of stuff. The nicest surprise of all was the price. I can honestly say that this was by far one of the best deals I've ever had from any one who has worked on my car!!! Anecdotally, I'd heard that one of their technicians lived about twenty miles away, but had switched to working at this shop -- and had customers follow him out to this location just to keep him working on their cars. That's the kind of story that (to me) speaks volumes about customer satisfaction... especially with the price of gas these days! One other story: My dad had taken their GMC Safari van to a different auto repair shop nearby, and while they're doing the work, the guy points out a leaking hose on the brake cylinder. "You really should replace that," he says, "because it's a safety issue." Dad says, "Okay, put it all back together and write me an estimate." Then he brings it to these guys, who look at it and say, "No, that's just normal wear and tear, it happens with these models, you just check it every six months or so." That's a pretty rare commodity these days: honesty. So, to sum up: It may have been the great recommendations that brought me here, but I soon learned why: excellent customer service, they take you out to look at the car and point out exactly what the problem is; very honest and straightforward people, no pressure to have unnecessary work done; unbeatable price. read more

They diagnosed the issue told us what we needed to fix it and were very straightforward and to the point. They didn't try and add on any extras either. The coffee that was offered was a plus! BUYER BEWARE! They "changed" a part on my elderly mother's car four times before they got it right. I found out from one of the mechanics that it was never changed to begin with! They attempted to clean the part and work around the problem to save them money and boost profits. Every time we took it back we'd get cheap excuses from the manager. Taking advantage of elderly senior citizens! All time low guys! Shame, shame, shame! read more

I have been a Tuffy customer since they opened on Miller Rd. I have always received excellent service and never a complaint about the service or the mechanics. I do have a favorite who has been employed at Tuffy for 30 years or more. They are helpful and never try to sell you a product that is not needed, they will try to fix rather than replace which is a good thing. I have also used the Dort Hwy location with the same results. I would give them an A+++++++++++++++++++. read more
