What you see isn't what you get with Tulip Bridal. Proceed to checkout with caution and use a payment vendor who will stand by their customer. You know, I didn't think too much about it when I opened the package and the faux fox fur shawl came out looking like a newborn baby calf, covered in cowlicks and looking heavily pressed with creases up and down the entire thing. I'm a bridesmaid whose Bride changed her mind about the color of the shawl. So, I sent it back exactly how it was sent to me. Rather than a bash fest, I'll share the facts: I received my item on the 5th, spent 3 days requesting assistance to send it back, once I was given an RMA I sent it back promptly, within 24 hours, exactly as I received it, packaging and all. Now, the seller is attempting to gaslight me by saying the fibers are melted and curled (see pictures). They did not check this item before shipping and are quick to place the blame on the buyer. Here's what you WILL get from Tulip Bridal: What you'll get is a "damaged" item. What you'll get is a strict return policy and a non-responsive seller who doesn't answer their phones or return text messages or emails until the very last minute. What you WILL get is argument with the seller when you finally get to return your item. In the long run, I had more communication and faster emails with the seller after opening a dispute with Paypal and the conversation was about placing blame on me as I somehow damaged this shawl. I'm letting Paypal handle it from here on out because the back and forth with the seller is just absurd. I'll bet they reply here with their argument... Buyers Beware. I made an incorrect order & emailed the store asking if my item size can be adjusted before mailing out.. a lot of companies don't allow change or are willing to accommodate the customers mishap once an order is complete but they were sooo efficient in switching it for me and refunding the price difference. on top of that they mailed my item out THE SAME DAY. the customer service is immaculate. I had an amazing experience with Sophie on Saturday! I actually found the location while I was scrolling through Pinterest looking at wedding dresses and couldn't believe my luck when they were located not only in Washington, but in Issaquah! I made an appointment on their website after visiting their Yelp page and reading such wonderful reviews! I am a big supporter of locally owned/family businesses so this place was perfect! I came alone and already new which dress that I loved on their website. Unfortunately, she didn't have a size that would fit me so I tried on a similar dress. Long story short, Sophie basically designed a customized wedding dress for me and I am SOOO EXCITED to see it! She offered input and answered any questions I had. Overall, I had such a great time with her, she's very personable and genuinely cares about her customers and business very much! As far as prices go, I was not willing to spend an arm and a leg on a dress I'd use once in my life, so I'm glad that the dress prices here at Tulip Bridal are very affordable. She asked for my budget and the style I like, and helped me pick out 6-8 dresses to try on. All the dresses are very pretty, it is so hard to choose. Sofie does not push you to make any purchase. I am very disappointed in my experience with Tulip Bridal. First off, I was so happy to find a dress shop that would customize a dress. I went in last August and put 3 different dresses together to make the perfect dress! It was a dream come true. Flash forward to now. First I get an email at 10:00 at night that my appointment for March 28th is cancelled... what? I get a second email about 5 minutes later explaining that they decided to close their store amid the COVID 19 outbreak. I expected to hear from the business myself. When I hadn't heard from them I sent an email to inquire about my dress (I had paid a deposit in August). They told me they would be available to do a video appointment. Great I thought! I wrote back and asked about weekend availability. They wrote back to inform me that they are closed on weekends, so it would have to be a weekday.... Ok. I am not able to make a weekday work and I previously had a weekend appointment so can you please accommodate me for the same? Their answer was nope, we can cancel your order. They have changed their operating hours and are unwilling to work with a customer. I guess my dress isn't worth their business. They did not even attempt to make it right with me as a customer. Go somewhere else! Find a company that will work with you when they make the decision to close. So, 3 months and 8 days before my wedding and I'm looking for a new dress. I cannot say enough good things about Tulip Bridal and Sophie. -The dress:  THE DRESSES ARE COMPLETELY CUSTOMIZABLE! I was able to Frankenstein my dress from other dresses, with custom sizing, for less than $1,000!!! No further outside alterations were needed. When I came to pick up my dress, Sophie offered to hand sew a couple of minor things before my very eyes. Things I would have never noticed, but she is very detail oriented. I should also mention I came in with 6 weeks until my elopement, and she made this custom dress happen in 3.5.  -The experience: Sophie is eager to help, but unlike other local bridal experiences, she is not there to shove sales down your throat. She's there to help, but also respects your privacy. I will also mention the shop is is very quiet.  I had no intention of purchasing another dress. I did a walk by while visiting the DOL next door, and made the appointment to try on fur shawls for my outdoor winter elopement.  Ended up trying on a dress out of curiosity. Don't let what is on the website fool you, the dresses are great quality and the options are limitless. My experience at Tulip was amazing. My Mom found the shop online and booked an appointment for me. It was nice to have the store available to just the two of us, I would've been self conscious otherwise, and I was catered to completely by Sophie. Our appointment went a little longer than we booked (due to my indecisiveness) but I never felt rushed. In the end, I chose a beautiful dress and veil, and Sophie was willing to accommodate a very special request: to have a piece of my late Father's dress shirt sewn into the inside of my dress. Each fitting appointment went smoothly, we needed some small tweaks to get it just perfect but I couldn't have been happier with my experience or my dress. My daughter and I loved this store! We agree we can't say enough positive things about our experience here. We found a wonderful assortment of wedding dresses in many sizes. They also carry other types of dresses as well for bridesmaids, etc. If you require some adjustments to an existing pattern and size, they can design the gown to fit the size you need. If it requires a totally new pattern for sizing, Sofie's mom and her assistants can make it, but it is a custom dress and costs a bit more. They can make it in as little as 3 weeks or so. If you want a bridal shop where you sit and have the staff do all the work and you aren't supposed to take the dresses off the rack, then David's Bridal is the place for you. If you like a nice quiet place where you can take your time and browse on your own, then Tulip is the place for you. We preferred to look on our own and Sofie was always there to answer questions and bring the dresses we selected. She is the sweetest person as verified by others who have been in there. She bends over backwards to help you out. She goes above and beyond what she needs to do. She is a gem and my daughter and I wouldn't hesitate to refer her to anyone we know getting married. I had been looking at Tulip bridal's Etsy shop for years before getting engaged. Their reviews on Etsy are absolutely stellar so I took the 5 hour drive to her shop. You set up an appointment online for an hour block. The store is adorable and I really appreciated having it all to myself. The quality of the dresses is amazing especially for the price. There was plenty of selection and my favorite part is that I could tweak any of the dresses to my style of to suit my body better. I knew the neckline and sleeves I wanted so at other bridal shops I was extremely disappointed. She makes the dresses for you so you can easily change things. Sophie was honest with pricing qnd doesn't charge a lot more for custom designs. I bought two wedding dresses (ceremony and reception) from Sophie and was so pleased with both of them. My ceremony dress was really rushed since I decided late and Sophie had it made and shipped to my door in less than a week. I chose every detail of both of the dresses which I loved. Including pockets, buttons and choice of fabrics. Down to the details everything was perfect. Together TWO dresses cost less than ONE dress at David's Bridal. Other reviews have mentioned that it was hard to try things on with the sample dresses ranging sizes. I had no problems with this. I can't say enough good things about local bridal designer Sofie at Tulip Bridal! She designs all the dresses herself and her mom makes them to measure! I was first drawn to her shop because of her soft and romantic designs. When I walked in with my four friends, we had fun picking out a million dresses that I was interested in. When I found one dress that I really liked, I mentioned to Sofie that I loved the top of the dress but I'm not a fan of tulle and so the skirt was a bit too heavy for me, to which she responded: "Oh we can switch that. Do you want a chiffon skirt?" AMAZING! So we customized my dream gown, and let me tell you: my dress is literally the most perfect thing; it fits me like a glove. It was finished in 6 weeks and when we discovered that the bottom was a little long because I'm wearing flats, Sofie made the alterations and refused to let me pay her! I loved this place so much I bought my veil (with matching lace!!!) and headpiece here too and the price on EVERYTHING came to less than $650. read more

I posted this same review on Google because it was already up and running, but I'm hoping they'll have a presence on Yelp soon. I have no doubt that the dresses here are good quality, and I see that other people have had really good experiences ordering their dresses online. I think that's crucial. I went in to the shop, with an appointment, and had... the strangest, most awkward appointment. Sophie, the woman who helped us (the owner? a dressmaker? I'm not sure) was so sweet. I have no doubt that she had nothing but good intentions. But we were the only people in the salon (which was dead silent-- no music or conversation or anything), and she just kind of... stood there. We had to ask if she was the person helping us, and she said yes, we had to ask her name, she said Sophie... it was just strange. In the past, bridal consultants have introduced themselves, said congrats, asked what I'm looking for, what my budget is... Sophie didn't. She let my mother and me look around and pull our own dresses, which is fine, but the consultants are the ones who know the stock, and should be pulling things as well. She didn't steer us towards the right part of the store for budget or style or anything. A note to anyone above a size 8-- you will not find dresses here. I'm sure they could make dresses custom for you, but do not try and go in. I emailed and gave her my sizes and she said "oh no problem we have things here for you" which was absolutely not true. She handed me some dresses and shut the curtain (I'm supposed to get the dresses on myself? Mom ended up helping because it was so awkward) and honestly, they weren't even close enough to get a feel for the fit of the dress. Even the size 20 dress I tried on had B cups sewn in. It was just poorly proportioned. The only saving grace was the bolero jackets. They're a kinda cool option if you want a dress to be more modest, specifically for strapless dresses. So check into those, but don't put your hopes on this place if you're going in. I hope they get it together soon, because it's painfully obvious that they function mostly online. I wish I had known before driving all the way out to Issaquah. read more

I purchased my wedding dress and veil from Tulip Bridal last summer (2019) for my August wedding and could not have been happier with the way it turned out! Sofie was very helpful from start to finish. I loved the experience of shopping at a smaller bridal store and having the dresses be customizable for me. Prior to visiting Tulip Bridal, I went to several larger bridal stores to try on dresses but was overwhelmed with the experience of having so many dresses in front of me yet, none of them were quite what I was looking for. I also only had six months before my wedding and many larger bridal shops indicated the shipping time for many of their dresses would be minimum of six months time (in addition to time for alterations). Tulip Bridal had just what I was looking for and I could tell from the moment I put on my dress that I had found "the dress"! Since I was the first to try on the dress style and the first to purchase, Sofie asked if they could call it the dress "Kelly gown" (which I thought was very special). Not only are the hand-made dresses amazing, the prices of custom wedding dresses at Tulip Bridal are hard to beat! This place was amazing! I had a large group with me when I came in and it was so nice that we had the whole place to ourselves to browse around. Sophie was so helpful with answering all of our questions and making sure that I had help when I wanted it, but also the independence to go through the racks on my own which I really liked. This was the first place I went and had no idea what I was doing and barely any idea on what I wanted. My bridal party and I went to so many stores and Tulip was by far my favorite and that's where I found my dress! I have a strange body type to fit, having a large rib cage but no hips so having the ability to have things custom made for a reasonable price is such a bonus. Prices are VERY reasonable as well and Sophie even worked with us to get it down a little lower. I love supporting local, family businesses and Tulip is just that.
