Had multiple incredible experiences at this store - three separate rounds of trying on dresses with Cecelia. Her inventory is gorgeous and she really knows her stuff, so much so that some of my top dresses in the end were actually dresses she pulled for me that I never would have thought to pull for myself. She also had multiple sample dress options that would allow for a bigger range in budget. Even after meeting with her three times, she was beyond generous with her flexibility and understanding of the significance of this purchase. Never once felt pressured. This was the only bridal shop I visited where the end-to-end experience was truly private, which was amazing. The interior of the store is so cute, and the champagne was a nice touch. After going to 19 bridal boutiques, I was completely drained and honestly thought I might never find a dress that truly felt right. I had such a positive experience at the White Door! This was the perfect setting for my first time trying on dresses--you're the only customer in the store, it's intimate, cozy, and has a shocking amount of selection for a small space! Cecelia, the owner, was patient, encouraging, and really listened to my comments and concerns. I had very loose direction before going, and she helped me narrow in on what styles work well on me, and put words to what I liked and disliked. She never showed me gowns out of my price range, and actually found two below my price range that I ended up loving! Meanwhile, my girlfriends sipped champagne and raved about the experience. Future brides, do yourself a favor and book an appt with The White Door!! I have gone to a bunch of bridal shops (too many honestly) and nothing compares to this gorgeous little shop in Tacoma. Wedding dress shopping can be really stressful, emotional, and filled with external and internal expectations of how one must "react" when they look at themselves in the mirror. Saysan and Gillian set the gold standard of an intimate and supportive dress shopping experience. The owners are two best friends who will show up like yours if you come in alone and maybe a little anxious (like I did). Not only did Saysan listen to my likes, my thoughts, my concerns, but she pulled options that I hadn't even thought of and I was pleasantly surprised on multiple occasions. Before offering up her opinion Saysan would always ask me what my thoughts were first, and made sure to support me rather than sway me. Never did I feel pressured to make the purchase if there was an ounce of hesitation, which only made me want to give them my business even more. There had been so many times in the past where I felt pressured to say I liked a dress that didn't fully excite me, and pressured to buy just for the sale. The White Door is as anti "that" as you can be. Also it should be mentioned that Saysan and Gillian have amazing taste, and all of their dresses are modern and gorgeous! They are also the only retailer I know in WA that carry the Kyha brand as well. I cannot recommend the ladies at The White Door enough. It was my first stop on my hunt for the perfect dress last weekend and they truly set the bar so high for all of the other shops we went to. We had so much fun trying on different styles, talking, laughing, & they made the experience so so special. I ended up finding my dress at another shop but truly wished I could have found it at The White Door. I had to come leave a review because the experience was so lovely and I'm hoping to go back to find a veil & jewelry as it gets closer to my special day. While they are a cute shop, this is not the place for you if you are a size 12. I set up an appointment with my mom to try on dresses for my wedding this winter. They almost canceled my appointment because of a miscommunication on sizing. I called and they assured me that they do in fact have my size in store and to disregard the email I got. When we arrived for my appointment, the owner of the store greeted us and was going to be the one with us during our appointment. While she was friendly and offered us champagne, her demeanor changed after I told her the other wedding dress shops I had already visited, in her words "their most expensive dress is our cheapest, so we will see what we can do". We sat down and chatted about the styles I liked, she then preceded to pick out dresses for me to try on, and each of them were the exact opposite of what I told her I liked. I am willing to try anything, so I went with it, thinking maybe I'd be surprised and like something different, after all I learned while being here that their dress styles are more modern rather than what a "traditional" wedding dress shop would sell. While I understand that these dresses weren't going to fit me entirely, she didn't even attempt to clip any of them so I could see how it would look had it fit me properly. I don't know if she doesn't have experience helping someone who isn't a size 4 find a dress, but I have never felt so uncomfortable in my own body than when I was here trying on dresses. I understand that having a size 12 body, I'm not always going to be happy with the way a certain style hugs the wrong parts of my body, but it just felt like she gave up on finding a dress for me as soon as she saw my body type when I walked in the door. And to top it off, without consent, she joined me in the dressing room while I was fully naked. It made me feel like she didn't trust that I wasn't going to ruin her dresses getting in and out of them because they were a little snug. While I understand that I could have said something about feeling uncomfortable with her being in there while I was not clothed, I don't do well with confrontation, so I just pushed through. Even writing this review makes me nervous because of how much I don't like confrontation. Overall, while I'm sure they are a great store for some, it's just not the best place for someone who is not petite. Writing this review because while their website says they carry up to a 14, I wish I had a heads up that I was not going to be getting the experience I should have had, and that I have gotten at other bridal shops, instead I walked away feeling disgusted with my body, a feeling no bride should have to feel. read more

I was visiting from out of town and reached out to them on a whim to see if they could squeeze me in and they did! I'm so glad I reached out because I had been to three bridal boutiques in the last month and The White Door was by far my favorite experience!
