I would NOT recommend the Bellevue Eltsa Bridal for your wedding dress!!! I took a leap of faith with Eltsa Bellevue based on the Greenlake reputation and felt like it was an uphill battle for my 7 weeks of alterations. I originally had a size 8 dress that Marina said was too tight to do any alterations to and apparently had no extra inseam material to work with (which was totally fine, I trusted her). I immediately ordered a new dress in size 12 to provide the proper amount of material she needed to work with, as she requested. Week after week I noticed little progress being made in the dress, even after expressing that the dress was a fit-and-flare/trumpet shape (also showing pictures of the dress from the designer's website, see first picture below). It was oversized and had no shape to it-- completely A-line shape instead of fitted. At week 5, she told me the next appointment would be my pick-up appointment and it looked like a sack (second picture below). When I expressed my concern for the dress looking A-line, with no shape that it was intended to have, she insisted there was nothing she could do to tailor the dress more. There was "nothing more to take in" even thought you could grab about an inch of extra material along my hips and there was plenty to take in down the thigh and back seams. I would call this out to her but she would dismiss me, and since I am not a seamstress, I trusted her. There were also instances where I felt gaslit into the dress being fine, for example, I pointed out the neckline was uneven from her tailoring and she would say she didn't see the unevenness. I had to be very firm and explicit in order to get things fixed, and even after I took my dress home, I still noticed some of the boning issues in the bodice weren't fully fixed. But I was exhausted at that point. I had to call Margo from Greenlake to come in and help because Marina was so resistant to helping. I was literally crying about how disappointed and sad I felt about my dress. Margo immediately knew what to do and my dress was transformed to my original request/the original shape of the dress. I was so happy with how it turned out after that but it was frustrating and disappointing to experience Marina's hesitation, resistance, and lack of understanding to fix the dress to help it fit my body. You will notice the dress is very simple with only one layer underneath. I'm surprised it was this difficult to accomplish with Marina but am grateful for Margo at Greenlake. Worth the drive to Greenlake for a better experience with your wedding dress!! Even with all the inconvenience, I still paid over $1100 and was charged for work that was done incorrectly. Definitely a learning experience but you only need a wedding dress once!!! Do it right with someone else. The first picture is my dress from the designer website. So, I will say that Marina was seemingly very nice, and for the most part, she was courteous and helpful. She "finished" my dress in time for her November vacation, but when I picked it up, there were a few things I was really unhappy with, which I'll list below. First, I will mention that I called Marina at the end of Sept for my mid-Nov wedding. 1. When I first called, she mentioned that she takes the entire month of Nov off, so the dress HAD to be finished before 10/31, which she said she could do, based on what I needed altered. (straps taken in, bodice/bust fitted to my size, high-slit added on one side, and bustle). After a few readjustment fittings, it seemed a little like she was rushing toward the end of the month, and she didn't exactly do/complete everything I wanted. 2. Besides the strap length and high slit, the biggest alteration needed on my dress was the bust size. The bust had boning and was FAR too large for my natural size. I asked her if she could adjust/fix it to fix my body, and she essentially said NO! She recommended adding padded sticky cups to fill it out, (which I did), but it STILL left a big gap at certain angles, and just looked far too large for my natural shape. This was the thing I disliked the most about my dress. A highly skilled seamstress would have been able to adjust this, and I feel like Marina said no because of her time constraints, and my opinion is that is a dishonest practice. 3. I picked up the dress around Oct 30th, and didn't realize it until after she was closed for November, but my dress was completely missing the hook clasp at the back!!! luckily the zipper went all the way up, so it didn't look horrible, but not having it on my wedding day meant the dress wasn't quite as secure/fitted as it should have been. I was really upset about it for a moment on my wedding day.. When all was said and done, I still found a way to feel great on my wedding day, but these adjustments would have gone MILES to help me feel more beautiful and stress free. I paid nearly $1k in alteration fees, and still really didn't get the dress exactly as I wanted. I almost wish I hadn't used venmo. TLDR: It seemed like Marina cared more about getting a client in/out than helping me feel my absolute best on my wedding day. If you just need basic adjustments (hem, straps), Eltsa Bridal and Marina could be a great option for you. If your dress needs more complex adjustments, go to a more skilled seamstress, as the cost will end up the same. read more

There's a shop in Redmond that everyone has heard of and is touted to be "the best" but their prices were exorbitant - the cost they quoted us was more than the dress itself! The cost for a simple bustle? $649! Eltsa Bridal did the bustle for $60! That sold us. We had a somewhat complicated hem that made me nervous for it to be shortened and replicated, and she handled it with expertise. It's a strapless and it feels amazingly secure and it looks so beautiful on. The bustle also looks so great you can't even see the buttons and loops. I first came to Eltsa in June for alterations on my lace dress for my September wedding, and everything was done by the beginning of August. The dress fit me fairly well to start, except for at the shoulders/neckline where I need to have some loose fabric taken in. I also needed the dress hemmed and bustled. The shoulder work took two visits to finalize and cost $80 (it was estimated to cost between $60-80). The hem cost $150. My 7 point bustle cost $120. There is sales tax on top of their cost. They do offer a discount for people who pay with cash, but their calculation is weird and kind of seems like tax afraid/straight up theft. They calculate the full cost of labor, then add sales tax based on that subtotal, then they take a percentage off that total (rather than calculating the cost of labor, giving a discount, and then adding sales tax). I brought it up with Marina, but she said this is how it is done by her boss. Weird calculations aside, I was happy with the work, and the bustle was good enough to hold up for most of the night of dancing. Parking at the Bellevue location is a little confusing because you can go to two different lots and there are threatening signs about towing, but we never had any problems. Scheduling was fairly easy even though my wedding dress alterations were around peak season. For my last pick up session, the hem still needed to be fixed, but Marina was able to do it in able 1.5 hours so we could come back and get it same day. read more

I had my very intricate and delicate wedding dress altered at Eltsa Bridal in Bellevue and they did an incredible job! They worked quickly and efficiently while being professional and super friendly. Plus the wedding dress was GORGEOUS once they were done with it. I believe this dress could have been considered a challenge because of how much bigger it was to my size, how delicate it was and the intricate beading. It was completely worth every penny to get their craftsmanship and expertise. They took the time to teach us how to bustle the train (which they had made beautifully), they advised on the length- considering my needs as it was an outdoor wedding and most importantly that I would be dancing in it. I found this place through searching on yelp. If you get to the address you will find a small business complex. Don't let that scare you away. Just find the stairs to the lower level. Margo greeted me really nicely when I got there. I told her my price range and this was my first time trying on dresses so I asked her for some advice. She help me pick a few pieces and let me take time to try them on while she helped another customer out on the other side of the door. This is a no-frills place with a small ish selection of dresses that you can look at and try on. As someone new to the dress shopping it was helpful to try on different styles, colors, and lengths. I also asked Margo if she could take my measurements and write them down on the card, she was nice enough to do so. If I end up buying a dress from elsewhere and need to have it altered I would definitely consider bringing it here! Also their dog is super cute. Also note that this is their second shop. When I decided to wear my mother's & grandmother's wedding dress on my big day, I knew that I needed some professional help that would be gentle with a fragile gown but also know exactly what to do. The ladies here are amazing! I explained exactly what I wanted and they gave me a fair and accurate quote right away and then got to work. They also gave me plenty of options and professional opinions on what would work best. We ended up taking the skirt completely off and attaching it to a new sleeveless bust. We then make a custom fit 3/4 sleeve top with a drop back to layer on top with buttons to attach to the skirt. It was fabulous to be able to take off the lace top later in the night when I was dancing and it was hot! And, I can now where that alone with future outfits (added bonus!). I had left my dress at their Greenlake location for a year due to Covid, but once I found out about the Factoria location, I called to inquire when I could pick up my dress to go to the closer location. They told me they could just bring the dress over for me so I didn't have to drive all the way to Greenlake from Renton. Marina was so patient and supportive when I found out that I couldn't fit into my dress due to the covid weight, she reassured me that I still had time to lose weight and we could do another fitting in a month. After one month, I barely fitted into my dress and I asked if she could adjust the breast padding for me, and it turned out that the person who had put in the breast pads put them upside down, making the dress too tight for me. Now the pads had been removed, the dress was a bit too loose for me, she had a quick and cheaper adjustment by adding a tightening strip instead pulling the dress apart to tighten the waist that might cost another $180. My dress required pretty extensive tweaks, including raising the shoulders, basically re-sewing the sleeves to better fit me, taking in the waist and the back and adding padding in the front. The seamstress is incredibly talented. I can't remember her name but I think she speaks Russian or Ukrainian. I brought her a designer skirt that I bought online and needed it sized down. I was in no rush as I wanted it to be perfect and she totally delivered! I couldn't tell where the original stitching stopped and where her alteration began. Wonderful work. They are not inexpensive. I found Eltsa because I got a dress custom made by Anomalie and when it arrived, it was way too big (and not really what I was envisioning) but I decided to get a quote for alterations. They were able to fit me in after I called them, and I rushed over to decide what to do. Ultimately I decided to return the dress, and I ended up with a sample sale dress that was a size too big. Margo and I had three fittings and she was able to quickly (less than 2 months before wedding) restructure the bodice to fit me, cut the hem, strategically move the lace to cover holes/staining and add bustles. My dress was made for a 5'10" girl, and me being 5'1", you can imagine how much work needed to be done. Within a month, the ladies here altered my dress to fit me perfectly. I just had my wedding gown altered by Marina. She and Margo took every step to make sure that it looked perfect. It was a challenging job to take the dress down several sizes, fit it to my body shape, and fix a previous imperfection in the construction - while in the end ensuring no alterations were visible and the lace was perfect. They accomplished all this 100% and took their time to explain everything to me. The work was fairly expensive, since this was a complicated job, but the high quality made it worthwhile. After buying my wedding dress from a boutique that doesn't provide alterations, I did some research online and found Eltsa Bridal and so happy I did! Initially I only needed a bustle added and it was done quickly, professionally and at a very competitive price. More recently I tried my dress on and had some gapping in the top due to the little weight loss I actually achieved and I took it back in to Eltsa Bridal. This alteration was more difficult than the initial bustle, but was taken care of in less than a week and only two fittings. I also bought a 2nd dress for my wedding events that was way too big on me and I just brought it along and they were happy to take care of it as well! I heard that wedding alterations can take months to finish, but at Eltsa Bridal they are fast and do quality work for reasonable prices. I'm very happy with both of my dresses and the services provided and would highly recommend to any brides out there looking for wedding alterations. I only had a month to get the dress tailored and I asked them to both tailor to me as well as alter the dress. They rose to the occasion and did a superb job, fitting me in and being courteous and efficient during all three fittings. The dress got better and better each time I tried it on - no one ever tells you how amazing it is to have the dress custom fitted to you! They finished a week before my wedding (amazing, given the time constraints and how much change I asked in the dress). It was one of the easiest parts of wedding planning for me. I am recently engaged and shopping for wedding dresses very, very early (because I keep having stress dreams about waiting until the day of and finding nothing I like). Eltsa was my first stop. I brought my mother and sister. The Russian woman who greeted us and helped with everything was absolutely lovely (I regret that I do not remember her name at this moment) and made the whole process so smooth. My biggest worry was that they wouldn't have anything in my size that I liked, but they had a lot of options in a range of prices and styles. Some really unique options, and I could tell that they were well made. Eltsa also does in-house alterations, so the person who helped us was able to tell me which changes could and could not be made in the dresses I tried on. The experience wasn't very opulent -- no champagne, pretty bare bones space -- and I loved it. I didn't feel pressured or overly scrutinized or rushed in any way. My daughter and I just had the final fitting and pick-up of her wedding dress today. I cannot recommend them highly enough and wish that I could give a higher rating! My daughter's dress was a challenge (probably for an ordinary seamstress or an average sewer like myself) but this very kind lady is an expert and did an amazing job. The entire bodice is lace and the side seams needed to be taken completely apart. When we went for the second fitting, the taken-apart seams and lace looked like it hadn't even been sewn over and constructed in the first place. She was extremely careful to leave the fabric in 100% pristine looking condition. The bodice then needed to have boning added in many different places - including the bust line to have it conform to my daughter's shape. The dress has several flowy layers including a colored under layer and many sheer layers over that. She added in a quite complicated bustling system (ten different points!) that made the dress look exactly like my daughter wanted. Considering the copious number of layers and the fact that the dress also needed to be hemmed - with scissors only on those sheer ones - it fell just perfectly even all around when bustled, and the train will be beautiful as she walks down the aisle. This level of expertise and care doesn't come cheap - and rightly so! Do not let that deter you in the least. If you have the need for this type of alteration, please consider Eltsa Bridal. You will NOT be disappointed, and your dress will certainly be all that you dream it can be for your wedding day. Also, this was all accomplished over the course of just 3 appointments and a few weeks of weekly fittings. Fast work, in my opinion! read more
