The flashing of the lights from the cars there's times that you can't even see the movie. It is - and so is the extra pole that was added to the fence after it buckled during the first take. The inside is quaint, semi recreated and jam packed with memorabilia from the film. I loved the bedroom that recreates the setting where Ponyboy read Johnny's letter, which inspired him to write his English essay. I also loved all the random movie posters, candid photos and movie costumes - especially the autograph wall. The volunteers - who are strategically stationed around the property are the best. They're happy to talk all things book, movie and Tulsa related. If you're nice - they'll tell you about Crutchfield Park, which is just down the street and where the Greaser / Soc rumble was filmed.

The Outsiders House Museum is a Tulsa gem, especially considering its modest size. Though not very…read morebig, it's packed with interesting memorabilia from the movie that will keep you engaged as you wander through. The best part are the volunteers. You can tell they genuinely enjoy what they do and they are eager to share stories and little-known facts about the history behind the movie and exhibits. Their passion really brings the place to life. While we were there we met some fans who had traveled from out of state just to visit. We also chatted with the photographer who was a neighborhood local at the time of the filming and happened to capture behind the scenes photographs on set. He now sells photographs onsite and had some fun stories to share. Parking is convenient with a small lot out back, but if that's full, there's usually plenty of street parking nearby. There is a great little gift shop to check out before you leave as well. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

I went in the tape slide thing with him to start and have a few warnings about that thing lol. The only way not to slide backwards walking up the enormous incline the tubes are on is to go barefoot and ... gross lol. If you have a little one like me, esp one who is overly cautious on this sort of stuff and won't do it alone, be aware that you'll both get run over in that thing by kids on their own running around. My son could barely get inside without getting knocked over. The slide itself is really steep and goes super fast, so I wouldn't have wanted him to go down it alone. Needless to say, we only climbed around in that tape thing once lol. The place is crazy clean for being a giant play structure. The bathrooms were clean, too. The temp outside that day was cold AF, and they kept in comfy inside so you weren't sweating to death in winter clothing running around. I don't know what I thought was the coolest as an adult because truly, this place has so much to offer. Probably the echo room was the most neat to me because it was super interactive AND required little parent participation haha. My mom is in a wheelchair and she was able to get around in there just fine and was able to be safe off to the side, but still get to see everything perfectly well, so I appreciated that aspect a lot.

this place is really historical and is on the verge of being here for a century. what i like about…read morethis place the most is two things: 1. the releases they get compared to the commercial theaters & 2. they're very local driven. i've been on both sides as the consumer & the client and had good experiences every time. they're also known for their popcorn, which is something i make sure i get no matter if i'm seeing a film, attending an event (they host a lot of events) or djing. they have an area to the side of the concession that lets you place butter for your popcorn along with over 10 seasonings to choose from (with a majority of them not being your average seasoning). i would mention the type of seasonings to choose from, thing is, they rotate them often! bringing it back to being local, you can catch local treats their as well like the rice krispy treats from antoinette baking co. the selections of films they get + showcase are impressive. local + films that make rounds at festivals that catch big buzzes that aren't as available nationwide come around a lot here. the employees are always nice & make sure i'm doing ok when i'm djing. the higher-ups are super nice as well & are usually in & out of the establishment. in the heart of kendall-whittier, a district that's been growing lately with surrounding (local) businesses.

Tulsa's finally becoming cool…read more I went to both nights of the festival to see OneRepublic and Neon Trees perform. It was crowded, but not so crowded that you were rubbing up against everyone else's sweaty bodies. Lots of bars, restaurants, and shops open late with added local vendors and food trucks. A great event for friends or families. Props to the city for having a fun, free music festival that I could see growing bigger and better in the future.

Over 100 bands in the 2 day festival for only $40 -$50 (depending on how far in advance you get the tickets) is a heck of a deal. Full days of well organized adventure is to be had. The line to get in is efficient, there are check-in stations at the stages that sync to social media, vendors and food trucks galore, a sweet smart phone app, you can sync your CC card with your wristband so your fanny pack will be lighter and SO much more! I'm pretty sure it's going to stick to the last weekend in July annually. Take an UBER ride to a fro to ditch having to find parking and enjoy bands of high caliber like Young The Giant, One Republic of past years and supremely local and regional shows, too!
