We put $1000 deposit down for a surgery after our initial consultation. Then we did additional research and realized the folks that advised us in our initial consultation did not disclose very important facts and information regarding surgical risks: -The surgeon at Surgical Arts is NOT a plastic surgeon, he is a cosmetic surgeon. There is a difference. -Plastic surgeons have privileges at hospitals, most cosmetic surgeons do not. -They did not thoroughly discuss infection risks and how to solve them if needed. We told them that we had made a mistake by not doing our research before giving them $1000 deposit. But we also said they did not sufficiently inform us of pertinent facts and surgical risks in our initial consultation. We asked to split the $1000 and refund us $500. They flat out rejected our request and were quite rude about informing us that we signed a non-refundable deposit agreement despite their lack of disclosures. We suggest you thoroughly do all your research before giving Surgical Arts any money because they are not reasonable in owning their culpability in their lack of disclosing pertinent facts and surgical risks. read more

Wife went in for a tummy tuck/ Mommy makeover. 2 weeks later she ended up in ICU for 4 days and hospital for 2 weeks with a MRSA infection. Went into septic shock She almost died. Wife and I are both nurses. we have both worked as wound care nurses before. I am not saying it was Dr C's fault, but we did do aftercare to the letter, and were very proactive with treatment, monitored drains and dressing changes, and notified the team promptly when complications developed. The infection that caused her sepsis was in the surgical incision site. Do what you will with this information. read more

In the fall of 2016 I went in to see Dr. Angelo Cuzalina in Tulsa Oklahoma at Tulsa Surgical Arts. I had a little saggy skin in my neck area. He recommended doing what he called a "neck lift". In January 2017 I had the procedure. After the procedure I had several thick bands showing up in my neck as well as sunken places. I kept going in and he would say it looks really "good". He said sometimes people to develop bands and scar tissues. He injected me with steroids and added some filler in the sunken areas. Finally he said I would need the bands cut, fat grafts in the sunken areas and a face lift to correct the problem! I was devastated!! I went to see two other doctors and they both said I had what they call a, "cobra neck", from having too much fat taken when I had the lipo of the neck. I did end up getting a face lift with another doctor and I the hollow areas and the bands still show. Dr. Cuzalina never told me that this was a possibility before he did the neck lift or I never would have had it done. The surgeon that did the face lift said because my skin is so thin around my neck doing a fat graft would cause further problems and it would show through and if he cut the bands it would also show through, so it looks like I will always have a deformed neck. He said if I would not have had the lipo of the neck but a facelift instead I would not have this problem. How I wish I would have Never let Dr. Cuzalina ever touch my neck!! I came to this facility as support and wheels for a friend, the lady at the front desk was very rude. I could hear from the waiting area how she talked down to my friend. Having to deal with that right before a surgery is disheartening I'm sure, just because we may not look like the regular people who frequent this facility does not mean that my friend is any less of a person or should be treated with so little respect especially when paying thousands of dollars. Dr. Cuzalina and JoDee Killingsworth are both very professional and great at what they do. I've been going to Ms. Killingsworth for facials for a long time now and Dr. Cuzalina did a great job on some surgical procedures I've had done. I will say, the receptionist is not friendly and she's cold. She will know you are there in front of her and not acknowledge you. I had to wait a very long time several times because she was busy talking about personal matters rather than attending to her job. If she is on the phone she won't even look at you. I've learned to just let the esthetician know I'm there myself instead of hoping the receptionist will remember to tell her. Again, I'm very pleased with the services I've received, they just need better front staff. read more
