I've been to at least 3 different medical spas in Tulsa, and this is BY FAR the worst one. They also get yelp to remove their negative reviews on here (I had to rewrite this one because they got my first one removed for "not including enough details about my experience as a customer of Jeff Alexander, MD and skin care institute" ). You want details??? Here they are!!! I was treated here for several years for acne (all throughout high school and college). I only saw the PA, Ashley, who was great! I never met Dr. Alexander though, which is weird because he was co-signing all of the charts as if he saw me everytime. The first time I went to the med spa, I got a facial, and she did a very poor job. She even missed a few of the areas I asked her to target. The second time I went was for a Fraxel consultation. They told me my skin needed to be "more clear" but neglected to tell me HOW to get my skin clearer nor give me any resources to do such. Regardless, I started on spironolactone and got my skin as clear as it's ever been. I had to wait 6 months to be re-evaluated (was out of country), but when I finally went in, they told me there were still "signs of inflammation" (acne marks, which is exactly what I'm trying to get rid of??), so they refused to consider fraxel, and then they proceeded to cancel my microneedling with RF that was scheduled for that day. I even offered to sign something saying I wouldn't sue if something happened, but they refused. I was SO disappointed because I had been looking forward to this for MONTHS. It gets worse though. I had Botox scheduled right after, and guess what? Someone made a mistake and booked someone else during what was supposed to be my appointment. They were trying to fix it and find me a new time, but I just left and never went back (and I never will). And guess what? I went to another med spa, and they did microneedling with RF THE VERY NEXT DAY - no issues at all with it. I was even cleared by their dermatologist for it right before. She did an AWESOME job. My skin looks great, all of the "inflammation" and mild acne they pointed out was eradicated by that laser. Let's see if they try to remove this one read more

I prepaid for Botox after receiving their sale by email, and it turned into a massive mistake. I called to book a simple appointment for Botox, which usually takes about 10 minutes. I explained that I am traveling and will not be back in Tulsa until February. Instead of helping me schedule something reasonable, I was told they could not accommodate me at all (Friday & Saturday). The tone, the attitude, just no! When I asked for a refund, I was put on hold for over 25 minutes until I had to go into a meeting (Must see attached screenshot). The entire experience felt dismissive and inconvenient, especially after prepaying for a service they now cannot provide. Very disappointing and not the level of care or professionalism I am used to. Hope this is not my only option in Tulsa. read more

I've been getting Botox from Sarah for about two years and just got my first filler treatment (lips, cheeks). If you want to be cared for by someone who is kind, generous, gentle, smart, and non-pushy, you need Sarah. She is a really bright, thoughtful person, which makes her a joy to talk with during treatments. She is the most pain-free/pain-reduced technician I've ever seen for Botox and my experience with fillers was so easy under her care. Sarah has never pressured or pushed me to try something, she's only responded by my inquires and gently suggested ideas. I have been a patient at the Skin Care Institute of Tulsa for about 20 years, and wouldn't go anywhere else for my skin care needs. I first started coming here for facials, advice about serums for skincare as well as anti-aging treatments starting with Retin A. Very recently, I started to step it up a bit and add botox as well as fillers. Sara, the injection nurse, was very patient, explain everything very thoroughly before injecting me with botox. I've had botox done at other outlets before, but I was never warned that I couldn't go running within two weeks of the procedure as well as a few other facts about the treatment. Short of a face lift, I am so very pleased with this treatment. I have never had a botox injection look so good! Next, I proceeded with Voluma, a subtle injection for the replacement of fat in the cheek area. Wow! This treatment is so remarkable! There's only just about no down time, although it takes a few weeks for the full effects to become apparent. It is a little expensive, but the effect is supposed to last up to 24 months, with 14 months the lower end of the spectrum. I also did Vobella treatments for marionette lines and lip enhancement. I was so very concerned about "looking" like I had cosmetic work done (such as "bee stung lips"), my fears have not been realized. Sara prefers to work conservatively, and I appreciate this! She can always go back and add more product later instead of doing too much at once. I did a consult with Jan first, who laid out all my options. I appreciated this time with her, and she also explained the differences between these fillers, what to expect, and any other questions I had. To say that I'm impressed wuth the work done by the Skin Care Institute is an understatement! I appreciate this clinic and staff! I can't recommend highly enough. read more

I've been going to Skin Care Institute for a few years and I continue to get feedback on how great my skin looks!

I grew up going to Jeff Alexander (dermatologist) in Tulsa and just recently, I think about 4 or 5 years ago, Jeff and his wife Judy opened up this spa in the same building where his office is located. It's a "medical spa," which I love. I'm never scared that I'm going to break out after receiving a facial here since I'm almost 100% positive all of their products are hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic. I came here during my last visit to Tulsa and received a facial. Jennifer was my esthetician and she was great. The extraction process hurt ALOT, but she was very thorough and made sure I was comfortable throughout the process. I ended up purchasing concealer and the whole she-bang only costs $90. That's pretty good for an hour long facial and product. read more

This medical spa has been in business the longest in Tulsa. They have equipment for laser hair removal, fotofacials, and they do light chemical peels, botox, and fillers for lip plumping and wrinkles. They sell skin care products that are the anti-aging type of stuff. I have been to a few day spas and medical spas in Tulsa and like this one the best. read more

I've been to other skin care spas, but SCI (Specifically, Angie Edwards) is simply fantastic! I have tried other places for Botox, but with less than stellar results. The difference is Angie's attention to detail and her investment of time. She talks through the "desired outcome" and listens to my concerns and what I want to get from the process. I never feel rushed or that I am not her primary focus! She is just wonderful! Scheduling is easy, she is always on-time and the results are super! Had injections done. Skin didn't respond. Had second injections with outrageous bruising from both . Couldn't even cover it with makeup. Spent 0ver $1500.00. The injectionist agreed that the injections didn't work but only wanted to refund $500. How is that suppose to be fair? Be careful. If you are not happy, no refund. Poor communication quality. Made an appointment for a service I had not requested at all and didn't make it for what I had called to request. Didn't resolve the issue either. Whoever makes appointments here is responsible for losing customers for this place. read more

I have had a few different procedures done at SCI. I am always impressed with the professional staff and their treatment of me each time. Jan Hodges is very knowledgeable on all the procedures and I love the fact that she gives you her honest opinion on what you can expect after each procedure and her recommendations or concerns as it applies to your individual circumstances. I am also extremely impressed with aesthetic nurse Sarah Bower, she performed my Fraxel procedure a couple weeks ago. Sarah is very kind and personable. I found her extremely easy to talk to and she let me know what she was doing every step of the way during my procedure. She also called me a few times after the procedure to see how I was doing and feeling. She made me feel more like a family member instead of a client ... LOVE THAT!! These folks at SCI are serious about skin care. They not only want you to get the most out of every procedure, they want you to fall in love with the results and take care of your skin afterwards. I know there are newer places in town that offer discount deals to get you in the door for the same procedures, but I think you will also decide on SCI once you do the homework, compare prices, reviews and longevity of these places. I've had great experiences here with the facial/medi spa side of the business. The ladies are really experienced and know all the tricks to get you looking your best. I've been disappointed with the massage (spa) aspect though. I just don't think they are really set up to provide relaxation-style services. For example, there is no changing room. You have to change in the massage room, and if you have multiple services scheduled, you are kind of hopping room to room with your therapist toting your clothes for you. read more

I had laser hair removal done for a full Brazilian, the procedure was fine and everyone was pleasant but they did not treat all areas. I think it would be ok to go here for other areas just don't expect the results you want if you go here for a Brazilian laser treatment. read more

My husband did the cool sculpting on his belly for I believe $1200. He got no results!!! No follow up either. I called about two months at er the treatment to tell them he got no results and was told they would get back to me. No one ever did. A lot of money with no results. read more
